In the room with Hart and Vetrix, Vetrix had just gained access to Hart's memories. He saw a memory of Kite catching a butterfly for Hart when they still lived in the country.
Hart: Wow Kite, that's the most beautiful butterfly you've ever caught.
Shortly after, Hart was admiring it inside of a cage.
Hart: It looks more like a jewel than a bug, doesn't it? Hey Kite, since you caught this butterfly for me, is it okay if I free it?
Kite: But why?
Hart: It's just that this butterfly was made to be free, and I don't think it could ever be happy locked in a cage.
Orbital 7: That is logical.
Kite: Okay Hart, let it go.
Hart opened the cage and watched it fly away.
Vetrix: Thank you, Hart. Soon all your memories will be mine.
Kite: Make your move Quattro!
Quattro: Why the rush? It's not like Hart's in too much danger.
Yuma: Quit stalling Quattro!
Trey: Don't push them too far.
Quattro: Too far, Trey? If you're too soft for this job, then maybe you should leave.
Trey: Quattro.
Quattro: Well, are you dueling or not?
Trey: Let's continue. I play the spell Chronomaly Pyramid Eye Tablet. This card raises the attack points of all my Chronomaly monsters by 800 points.
Machu Mech: 2400-3200 ATK
Trey: And now I activate Machu Mech's special ability. Since its attack points changed, I can use one overlay units to deal damage to you equal to the change in his power, so you take 800 points of damage Yuma.

Quattro: Oh please, it's hopeless. You can't save your brother, but there's still time to chicken out and save yourself.

Yuma: Kite, wait. You have to keep calm.
Kite: My brother is in danger. You don't know me or what I'm going through.
Yuma: You're wrong, I do know, and here's why. I know you because I've dueled against you before, and I know you're a great duelist. Trey: It takes so much courage to keep giving up your life points like Yuma has.
Quattro: I bet you're having a lot of fun making a pest of yourself Yuma, but I'm about to become a pest exterminator! I activate Gimmick Puppet of Strings' special ability. By using one overlay unit, every monster on your field gains a string counter, and at the end of the next turn, all monsters with string counters are destroyed, and their controllers take damage equal to their destroyed monsters' original attack points.
Yuma: Anyone got a plan?
Quattro: The plan is for you to lose! Your fate is sealed! Both you and Kite are facing utter destruction, and all hope for Hart is truly lost.
Astral: They must both be defeated on this next turn, or we will lose. Everything depends on Kite, he must duel.
Yuma: But how? He's too weak.

The glow faded and Kite was surrounded in a red aura.
Yuma: What happened to Kite?
Astral: Did Hart do this? Astral asked himself.
In the ritual room, the glow faded and Hart and Vetrix floated back down to the floor.
Quinton: I don't understand. The matrix was created from Hart's energy, so where did it go?
Kite: Thanks Hart. I know the strength I feel came from you.
Astral: It appears the energy source that transformed Kite will also give new power to his deck.
Yuma: Where did the energy come from?
Astral: It was created from the bond between Hart and Kite.
Orbital 7: Lookin' good Master Kite!
Kite: Watch out Quattro!
Quattro: Galaxy-Eyes has no attack points, and you only have a measly 100 life points. You're as harmless as a fly!
Kite: I'm strong enough to out-duel you. I've got my brother's strength, and that's all I need. I'm gonna start my turn with the spell card Overlay Regen. This card restores one overlay unit to all xyz monsters on the field. Listen Astral, I need your help.
Astral: Yuma, what if we give Kite a card or two to help?
