It was a hard fought battle. Starfire had been blasted by Jinx's magic, stomped on by Mammoth, nearly slashed by Gizmo, punched and pulled by a lot of Billy Numerous and blindsided by See-More. While her body was none the worse, her true pride of her self that was damaged was her long hair. It was burnt, frayed, some cut off and overall not pretty at the moment. Starfire held her hair close mournfully, what was once smooth and shiny now rough and worn.

"You're way overreacting to your hair Star." She turned to see Raven whom was sitting on the couch with her, reading her book.

"I am the sorry. It is just I am very proud of my hair. You do realize how long it took to get to this length, and how much effort it takes to keep it clean?"

"That's why I prefer keeping mine short. Very low maintenance."

"I remember you telling me that long ago. But I cannot just bring myself to just cut it for the sake of simplicity. I don't even know if I'll like how I look with short hair."

"Then why not style it so it doesn't get in the way?" The sorceress suggested. "You can put it in a braid or bun."

"Oh, that is the right! Thank you Raven!" After hugging her friend, the Tamaranean floated off so she could change her hair style. After a few minutes, a new Starfire opened her door to step out. Her hair was now in a bun. Now, due to how much hair she had it was quite large, about the size of her own head. But it did not matter, for no longer her hair shall-

"Ow!" She yelped as her door closed on her bun, pulling her back. After opening the door, she rechecked her hair, and found that although it was looser, it was still mostly intact. Passing the living room and into the kitchen, she greeted her friends.

"Good aft-ow!" Again her bun was caught in the closing door, pulling it slightly more out.

"Oh, trying out a new do, Star?" Beast Boy asked, noticing her somewhat damaged hair in its bun.

"Yes. I have been growing tired of my hair taking the brunt of the damage. Now I have gotten it out of the way without having to cut it! Is it not wonderful?!"

"Well, I can see how just letting it flow around can be challenging. Especially from the Hive last. But even buns and braids have their share of cons as well."

"Yeah, let me tell you girl, growing with an afro was not easy before I just outright shaved it." Cyborg shrugged.

"Afro?" BB inquired.

"I was imitating the 80's bro."

"Well, I'm sure keeping my hair out of the way will keep things simpler." Just then the alarm went off.

"Crime alert! Cinderblock is wrecking downtown! Titans, go!" As Cinderblock was yelling its gravelly voice while flipping cars and punching everything, the Titans arrived in the T-car. As they were getting out, Starfire's head jerked back as her bun bumped into the car, coming down some more.

"Beast Boy, Cyborg, you take the right. Raven, with me to the left! Starfire, distract Cinderblock with a center attack!" Nodding she flew forward as the alien princess fired Starbolt after Starbolt at the stone golem, causing him to roar at her. The first few punches she evaded, but one lucky grab at her bun stopped her evasive movements as he swung her around, the female titan grunting painfully as she slammed into the street and cars. And just as she was going to be swung into a lamppost with her face as the impact point, her bun gave out as she went out several feet and thus swung around the post. Using this lucky break, Starfire kicked into Cinderblock's arm with enough momentous force as to break it off at the elbow. Although that unfortunately meant she went down with her hair in the still solid grasp of cinder fist. Trying to pry herself free, she gasped as the angry creature reared to punch her to the ground, before black tendrils stopped it. A gorilla dropped from the air and smashed through the other arm while blue and grey missiles took out his legs. Robin landed on top and placed a disc on the incapacitated Cinderblock, and he was frozen on the spot, trapped in ice.

"Good work team!" Robin congratulated his teammates.

"Friends, a little help please?" A soft voice called to them. Raven floated to her and blasted the fist into dust, without damaging her hair. "Thank you friend Raven."

"Don't mention it."

"Are you okay Star?" Robin asked her, seeing the brief beating she took.

"Yes. I just thought putting my hair up would work."

"Cinderblock just got lucky. It is better more times then not." Raven pointed out.

"Yeah, so what if it falls out once? It's actually a nice change actually since we rarely change our looks."

"Yeah, just keep at it." Cyborg encouraged." Starfire smiled.

"Thank you."

A/N: Okay, here's the thing. As I've seen Starfire in the GO! show move and fight and such, I wondered how it would be like if it were more in the way. This is just a fun little thing I'm just testing out to see what you readers think about it. Got any scenarios that could cause either her bun or braid to get caught into mishaps? Perhaps you've got some experience yourself and would like to share and have me put her through the same? Let me know in the reviews below. Just a few suggestions, things could range not just from doors and cars, but also window, animals, chairs, nature like tree branches or bushes, some crawling on the ground and other stuff. This is just for fun so no worries and just say what you're thinking about.
