I was reading my book again, my hair blowing with the wind while I wore a grey sweater.

"Hey Sally." A friendly voice caught my attention. I looked up to see Sonic in a plain white t-shirt and worn out jeans, holes in his thighs.

"Oh, hey Sonic." I greeted shyly, tucking some hair behind my left ear, which fell out over again almost immediately.

"What ya reading there?" He asked me curiously.

"Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott. It's about a family during the American Civil War in which they went from being prestigious to poor and now they're trying to figure things out.

"Sounds hard." He replied.

"Yes, I'd imagine so." I chuckled just once.

"Hey Sally?"

"Yeah?" I turned to him.

"How long has it been since we've last hung out? Because..." Sonic raised his hand to push my hair aside, looking at my face. "...it's like you look really different than last I actually remember, even though we drew words together last night. Is it our windows?" Where was he going with this? I could feel myself blush from the contact of his hand near my face. We haven't hung out since the first couple of months of high school three years ago before fame took you away. Before Amy.

"Ma-maybe." I stuttered. Oh gosh, wasn't it easy talking with my best friend? Wait, are we even best friends anymore since it's been about 3 1/2 years since we've hung out? My only other friend is Nicole Katherson, a girl who's even nerdier than me specializing in computer engineering. "Uh, Sonic?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you okay? I noticed that you seem a bit worn out emotionally than you usually are."

"Nah, I'm fine. It's just typical boy an girlfriend stuff." He shrugged, but I knew better. What are you doing with a girl that makes you sad to begin with? He then smiled at something, which at first I was happy to see because his smiles could light a whole town and certainly brighten my day, but the sound of car tires made my head turn and I frowned when I saw it was Amy and her 'precious car' her parents bought her. A bubblegum pink Volkswagen Beetle. Her hair was dyed the same pink as her car. How obnoxious.

"Oh, there's Amy. See ya Sally." He bid farewell as he got into her car. I raised my hand silently in goodbye as the two kissed and hugged in the car. As they hugged though, Amy used her free right hand to lower her shades, and gave me a smug look like she was silently laughing at me. I raised a middle finger while mouthing, 'bitch.' She then dropped her smile and got out of her hug with Sonic to drive off. I sighed in both irritation and sadness. The bus then came up and I boarded onto it.

I was cheering for the Green Hill Knights as they were in the football finals facing against the Spring Yard Robots of Robotnik High, a school where uncontrollable delinquents go to after regular schools give up on them. They're the dirtiest of the high school sports teams because they cheat, but it's either unnoticeable or exploits loopholes around the rule books. But I was confident as always that Sonic would beat them. Amy was doing her thing, leading the cheer leaders while shaking her pom poms while I played the clarinet. Looking to his left, we shared eye contact for a split second before gazing straight. Oh how I loved his emerald green eyes. I wish he'd stare lovingly into mine. It was tough with the Robots and their legal yet cheating schemes, but eventually we won! Sonic was just too fast for any of their tricks to work! He was lifted up by his friends in celebration, and when he was let down and went to-wait-is Amy flirting with our own bad boy delinquent Danny 'Shadow' Black? That skank! Apparently Sonic caught on because he looked betrayed. I sneaked myself between the huge football players to listen in close.

"A-Amy?! What are you doing flirting with him of all people?!"

"What, I'm just playing around Sonic. It's nothing serious." She scoffed with a smile. Oh how I want to shove my clarinet right down her throat as I gripped my musical instrument tightly with my hands.

"It is to me!" He countered furiously. "You know, I do everything I can to please you, I've bent over backwards to be the best boyfriend for you and how do you treat me?! You never say I love you too in private! You never give me anything in return, and I hear that you talk down to my friends but I wanted to believe you were better than that! And now you're flirting with him?!" Wow, Sonic is pretty chill even in stressful situations.

"Soni-"

"Now, I-I just can't date you anymore. Just leave me alone." He left in a huff, leaving a shocked Amy and Danny behind. I couldn't believe it. Sonic was free from her torture? I smiled as I pumped my fists a small bit. I need to change and talk to Nicole.

A/N: I must say, it's interesting writing a song fic. Whenever I scroll through fanfics trying to find something to read I rolled my eyes when I'd see a song fic if it wasn't original. But doing it myself, I can see why people do it. Also, I guess I'm being a bit hypocritical because I've written about pre-existing stuff before in my fanfics, giving credit to the original source mind you, because I'm terrible at coming up with something original from scratch. English Literature class proved that. So at least I know I'm flawed and don't hold myself higher than others. Let me know what you think of this chapter? Next one is the last chapter. Thanks for reading.
