Today was going to be interesting day, Nick thought and smiled as he stepped out of his car. Then he looked up at the Grande Pangolin Arms and shook his head. What a dump! He thought and chuckled. Then he pushed through the front doors and walked toward the elevator. He looked up just in time to see the '2' go out and waited. A few seconds later he heard the ding and the doors opened. There stood his beautiful bunny.

"Nick!" she exclaimed and hopped into his arms.

He caught her and hugged his bunny and she returned the favor. Then purple eyes met green ones.

"I love you," he said and smiled.

"Me too!" she agreed and he leaned closer to kiss her. "Nick!" She looked around. "Someone might see! Put me down!"

"You're the one who jumped up here," he said and winked. "Maybe I should just carry you."

"Nick!" she said and started to squirm.

He loosened his grip and she grabbed on to his shirt.

"I thought you wanted to get down."

"Nick!"

He smiled and gently set her on her feet. She looked around again and he opened the lobby door for her. She walked passed him and gave him the eye. He followed and rolled his. Then he looked down and watched her fluffy white tail bob up and down for a few seconds. He smiled and then hurried to catch up with her.

"You were watching my tail again, weren't you?!"

"No, I'd never such a thing!"

Judy made a rude noise. Unbeknownst to them on a certain parallel Earth that particular gesture was known as the Bronx Cheer.

Then he held out a hand and she looked up at her Fox. Surreptitiously she glanced around and then took it. Once in a while they still received odd looks from some Animals when they went out together. It didn't really bother him, but it did Judy. No one had actually confronted them yet, but he had a feeling that someone would at some point in the future. He just wondered how she would react, but knowing her as well as he did he wouldn't want to be that particular person when it did happen.

The new movie was a science fiction film that she'd been talking about for months. She'd shown him previews and interviews with the actors. One of them just happened to be certain Gazelle in her first staring roll who just happened to be Judy's old college roommate. So this wasn't just its first day of its release, but it was the movie's premiere! The limousine was just pulling up as they reached to the curb. The driver walked around the car and opened the door and the Angel with Horns stepped out.

"Judy!"

"Maria!"

They came together and hugged. Then a minute later her soft brown eyes met his.

"Nick."

"Maria."

Then she bent down and kissed him on the cheek. They heard a growl from behind them and they smiled at each other. The driver still held the door and the Gazelle ushered them into the limo.

When they pulled out two large SUVs both proceeded and followed them. The drive only took thirty minutes and they pulled up to the tallest building in Zootopia. The garage door opened and the three cars entered and the door closed behind them. They stopped before an elevator and security Animals formed a cordon to the elevator. They stepped out and one Animal touched the button. The door immediately opened and two of them entered. Then two others escorted them in, turned, and one touched the Penthouse button. The elevator rose so rapidly that Judy thought she might have left her stomach behind. Less than a minute late the doors opened on the three hundredth floor.

"That's always an experience," Judy said and smiled at her old friend. "Sometimes I think we're going in to obit."

"Remember that's next month," Gazelle said.

"You really goin' up to the space station," Nick said.

"Yep," she said and smiled. "My company built it. So I'm going to its dedication and you two are invited!"

Judy looked at her Fox with expectant eyes.

"Of course we'll come along," he said and looked at the Gazelle. "Someone has to keep an eye on her."

Then he gathered her up in his arms and kissed her.

"Nick!"

"I've seen you two kiss before," she said and winked. "Remember?" Judy's ears turned pink and Nick chuckled. "Let's get to the premiere party!"

They'd never seen so many famous Animals in person. After Maria introduced them everyone they all wanted to hear about their first case. Of course Nick told it in excruciating detail and Judy felt her ears grow warm several times. Afterwards the producer of Gazelle's film mentioned that their story might make a good film for his next project.

"You could call it Zootopia!" Nick said and Producer stared at him for a moment.

"That's perfect!"

"There's on only one problem," Nick said.

"Which is?"

"Where would you find a Rabbit as beautiful as Judy to play her part?" Nick said and smiled.

Judy's ears turned red. Everyone laughed and the Producer just stared at the Rabbit.

"You may have a point."

"Well maybe with a bit of coaching she could do it herself," the Gazelle suggested.

"Then where would you get a handsome Fox such as myself."

"Oh, they're a dime a dozen," Maria said.

Gazelle's movie played in the largest theater in Zootopia. Afterwards back at the penthouse they had another, but somewhat larger party. They finally got to bed at 3am and awoke to a knock on the door.

"May I come in?"Maria asked and Judy pulled up the covers to her neck

"Yes," Nick said quicklyand Maria opened the door and stepped in.

"Breakfast's in an hour," she said and looked at Judy. "No carrots."

Nick looked at his bunny and had to bite his tongue not to laugh. Judy hated carrots with an all consuming passion and just the mere mention of them would usually cause a unpleasant reaction. This time she only made a face and growled.

"Well I'm kinda hungry," Nick said and looked at his bunny. "But first I need a shower. Would wash my back?"

"You like that, wouldn't you!"

"Yes," he said and grinned. "Yes, I would."

Maria laughed.

They found the clothes and other things that Maria had mentioned before they'd gone to bed. Judy didn't wash his back, but she did brush out his fur and he did hers. After breakfast Maria mentioned a surprise for them and sent them alone to the one hundred and fifth floor. When the doors open they walked out into a forest.

"This is incredible!" she said and ran over to a tree and touched it. "It's real! It looks like we're in BunnyBurrow."

"It's all real and occupies seven floors," he said and walked through the leaves to join her. She looked up though the trees and saw the sun. "It's keyed to the seasons just like outside."

"But it looks like we are outside!"

"I was surprised too!"

"You and Maria planned this!"

"True, but this was already here," he said and looked around. "Maria can't just go outside and wonder around by herself in Zootopia. So she has this. Come on."

He ushered her back onto the path and they came to a stone bridge with a creek running under it.

"I have another surprise for you," he said and removed a small box from his jacket.

He opened it and held out. She looked at it for a moment, then up at him, and back to the engagement ring.

"Nick!" she exclaimed and rushed to hug him.

Then her ears come up and one slapped the box out of his hand. The ring flew out and it and box sailed over the side of the bridge and into the creek below.

"Oops!" he said and she looked up at him.

"Oops?

"The ring."

"In the creek?"

"Yep!"

They both went to the edge of the bridge and looked over. Nick saw a glint of gold and hurried to the water's edge and then into the creek. He quickly spotted the ring and plucked it out of the water. Then he turned and held out to his bunny.

"Nick!"

Then walked out and went to one knee. He took her hand and quickly slipped the ring onto her finger.

"Judy, will you marry me?"

"Yes," she said and leapt into his arms.

The splash was loud enough to set off the emergency alarms throughout the building.
