The next day, Hook returned to the house. Emma ran into his arms and hugged him tightly. "I'm not going to waste any more time," she said. "Move in with me."
Hook smiled at his love, "I can't believe I'm back with you."
"I can't either, but I'm so happy."
"Me too," Hook kissed Emma and everyone smiled. The only two who weren't there were Regina and Robin. Emma had decided to go to her mother's after leaving the house.
Regina was stunned to see Hook, "mother," Emma began, "I realized that I never apologized to you for the horrible things I said to you in the Underworld. I'm really sorry."
"Thank you, dear. I'm glad you two are back together."
"Thank you, Regina," Hook said.
"We just wanted to stop by and tell you the good news. That and Hook is moving in with me and Henry."
"Congratulations," Regina said.
"We'll let you rest," Emma kissed her mother's cheek and left with Hook.
Three and a half months later, Regina was having lunch with her daughter and grandson at Granny's. She was now two weeks away from her due date. Emma and Regina were passed the things that happened between Hook's death and return. "We could have had lunch at your house," Emma said.
"I know, but I feel like I haven't been out in ages."
"What do you think you'll name the baby?" Henry asked.
"Well, your mother took my boy name," Regina said with a smile. "I honestly don't know. Every name we come up with doesn't feel right."
"Maybe when you see the baby you'll know?" Emma suggested. Regina closed her eyes and began to take slow, deep breaths. "Mom," Emma reached across the table to take her mother's hand, "mom, what's wrong?"
Regina opened her eyes and saw the worry on her daughter's face, "just a false contraction."
"How do you know that it's not the real thing?"
"I guess I'll find out. Could you help me up? I need to use the ladies' room."
"I'll go with you," Emma said as she began helping her mother to her feet.
"I'll be fine, dear." Regina didn't wait for her daughter to say another word. The mayor took her cane and headed to the restroom.
"She's so stubborn," Emma said. "You have no idea what it's like to have a stubborn parent," she told her son.
"Actually, I think I have a pretty good idea." That earned Henry a glare from his mother. Henry looked in the direction his grandmother had gone, "mom, look," he pointed at Regina who was leaning against the doorway, holding her stomach, and taking deep breaths.
Emma quickly stood, "mom," she rushed to the woman.
"My water broke," Regina panted.
Granny had noticed what was going on and walked over, "Emma, go pull the car around. I'll help your mother."
"Yeah, okay, thanks," the sheriff said. She and Henry ran out of the diner.
Granny held onto Regina as she helped the woman leave the diner. "Just take slow, deep breaths," she told Regina.
Ruby held the door for the two and Granny helped Regina make it down the steps. "Ah! Contraction!"
Granny stopped, kept Regina's hand in her left hand, and used her right hand to rub the mayor's back. "Just breathe," Granny said, "it'll be over soon."
Emma pulled the car up as Regina's contraction was ending. Granny helped settle the woman in the passenger seat. "Thank you," Regina whispered.
"Anytime," Granny said.
"Take my card to pay the bill," Emma said as she held her card out. "I'll just get it later."
"Don't worry about it. This one's on me. I'll track down Robin for ya."
"Thanks, Granny," Emma said before speeding off towards the hospital.
Robin arrived at the hospital ten minutes after Regina checked in. He stood by her side the entire time and supported her the whole way. After fifteen hours of labor, a cry filled the room.
"You have a baby girl," Whale announced.
The baby was placed on Regina's chest. She and Robin were both crying tears of joy. Robin kissed his wife's temple, "I'm so proud of you."
"Thank you for being here for me."
"There's nowhere else I'd rather be."
The nurse took the baby to clean her up and swaddle her in a blanket before returning the newborn to her mother. "We still need a name," Regina said. She looked on her phone. "How about, Desiree Mireya? Desiree means 'long hoped for,' and Mireya means 'miracle'."
"I think that's perfect," Robin said.
Everyone adored baby Desiree. Her older sister and brother were especially excited about having a baby sister. Emma had her sister who was six years younger than her, Eva. She also had Roland who was five and Neal who was now one. It didn't matter how old her siblings were, Emma loved them just the same.
