After taking the weekend to rest, Regina was doing relatively well. The girls had asked to spend the night again at Cora's. Emma said that it was okay but Regina wasn't happy. "They don't want to come home," Regina said.
"Once you're feeling better then we will talk to them. Right now I'm more focused on getting you better." Regina dropped the conversation and the girls stayed with Cora until Friday. Emma picked them up from school. They tried to convince her that they should just spend the weekend with Cora again, but Emma wasn't budging. "You know that you can tell me anything?" Emma asked as they pulled up to the house.
"You'll be mad," Faline said.
"No, I won't," Emma insisted.
The sheriff took her daughters to sit in the backyard. "It's just hard to see mommy hurt so much," Stella admitted.
"It hurts us to see her hurt," Odette added.
The back door opened and Regina walked out. She looked a lot better than the last time the girls saw her. The mayor smiled, "I'm happy you three are finally home." Emma and the girls were sitting on the ground, but Regina took a seat on a chair.
"Mommy," Odette stood and walked over to Regina, "we're very sorry."
Regina was a bit confused, "why?"
Faline stood and joined her sister, "it hurt too much to watch you hurt."
Stella joined them, "do you still hurt?"
"A little, but not nearly as much as last week. Dr. Whale gave me something to help ease the pain. I actually haven't taken one today."
"Can we hug you?" Faline asked.
"Of course," Regina smiled as her three daughters wrapped their arms around her. It touched her to know that her girls cared and worried about her, but it also made her sad. "I don't want the three of you to worry about me anymore. That's not your job. Besides, mama worries enough for all of us."
"I do not! My mother worries. I don't."
"Yes, dear."
The girls laughed and were really happy to be home with their moms. They never intended to move in with Cora. They just wanted to wait until Regina felt better. It was apparent by Regina's overall appearance that she indeed felt a great deal better.
Emma was having lunch with her mother and mother-in-law. She didn't tell Regina that Cora was going to be there because she needed to run something by the two women first.
"I need your help with something that I know that Regina doesn't know."
"Which kid and what did they do?" Snow asked.
"What makes you think it's about one of the kids?"
"You have the same look and tone in your voice that every parent has when their kid screws up and the other parent doesn't know yet," Cora said.
"Henry..."
"Ah!" Snow and Cora said with a nod.
"Anyway, Henry and the boys aren't in school. They actually dropped out a while ago."
"Why?" Snow asked.
"They decided that they wanted to go on some grand adventure."
"They went to the Enchanted Forest, didn't they?" Cora asked.
"How did you know?"
"It was either there or Neverland. I don't think Henry would go back to Neverland and it has to be a place Regina wouldn't want them to go to."
"How do I tell her?"
"I have no idea," Snow said.
"I'd hate to be in your shoes," Cora added.
"Thanks, you've both been a big help," Emma said sarcastically. "Oh, and Henry's engaged."
"What?!" both women were floored.
"He met a different Cinderella, well Ella, and they're engaged."
"You're screwed," Snow said.
"Thanks, mom," Emma said, "you always know just what to say."
"Just have Henry tell her," Cora said.
"Yeah, aren't the boys coming home for Thanksgiving?" Snow asked.
"They are," Emma confirmed. The sheriff groaned, "my kids suck."
"Tell me about it," Snow and Cora said at the same time.
"Okay, that was eerie."
When Emma arrived home, her wife was in the kitchen, "hey, how was lunch with your mom?"
"It was okay. Your mom went too."
Regina looked at her wife, "is that why it was just okay?"
"No, well, neither made the lunch great."
"Is there a reason you didn't tell me about my mother going?"
"Yes," Emma answered, "I needed their advice about something."
"Something involving me?"
"I don't know how to tell you something. It's not bad, but I don't think you'll be happy."
"Just tell me."
"The boys dropped out of school and have been in the Enchanted Forest for about a year. Oh, and Henry is engaged to Cinderella."
"How did you find all of this out?"
"Henry told me in the letter I got from him yesterday."
"I thought Ashley was Ella."
"It's a different realm. I don't know."
"I just want our kids to be happy."
"I think they were worried about disappointing you."
Regina sighed, "I better get back to work."
"Would you like some help?"
"From you," Regina said with an arched brow.
"Yeah," Emma said.
"No thank you."
"Fine, I'll just sit here and annoy you."
"It is your specialty."
"What a coincidence," Emma said, "annoying me is your specialty."
Regina smiled and gave her wife a few things to help her with. In just a few days, the boys would be home and Henry's fiance would be there too.
