Emma and Regina had decided to go to Bora Bora for their anniversary trip. They rented a hut in the ocean and felt more relaxed the moment they arrived. Regina did need to rest and take a nap upon their arrival. She wasn't really in any pain, but she was tired. Emma made sure to book a couple of extra days for her wife to do just that. The following day, Emma served Regina breakfast in bed. "I know you didn't make this," Regina said.
"I did," Emma insisted.
"Emma," Regina glared at her wife.
"I made the order."
Regina chuckled, "that doesn't bother me. It's sweet that you did this."
Emma crawled in bed and joined her wife, "what should we do today?"
"What would you like to do?"
"Maybe swim a little."
Regina was nervous about getting into the ocean. They had a pool, but eventually, Emma would want to swim in the ocean. "Should we do that after lunch?"
"What will we do before lunch?"
"I guess we could get in the pool before lunch."
"Then after lunch, we can take a little nap and get back in the pool after dinner."
"That's fine with me. Tomorrow we can walk around."
"We could, but if you're not up to it then we can stay here. I'm sure we won't have any trouble finding something to do," Emma grinned mischievously.
About forty-five minutes after breakfast, Emma and Regina got in the pool. The blonde was all over her wife, "Emma, we can't do this out here in the daylight?"
"Why not?"
"What do you mean 'why not'?"
"Fine, we can do it after dinner."
"'Do it'? A bit tacky even for you."
"Well, you took my fun away."
"We can have fun in here without putting on a free show."
"I'm not sure how to do that. Maybe you should show me?"
Regina smiled at her wife. While they didn't make love in the pool, they did hang all over each other. They had never really had a honeymoon and were making up for it.
Once lunch rolled around, the two ate on the back deck. "I should have ordered wine or something," Emma said.
"That's alright," Regina told her wife, "I probably shouldn't drink anyway. Just in case."
"You should drink now because by the end of the trip you most likely won't be able to."
"I guess we could order something for dinner."
"Did you happen to bring any 'Evil Queen' clothes?"
"Yeah, I really want to wear all of that leather in this weather," Regina answered sarcastically.
"Damn," Emma responded, "I will say, you were the sexiest dark one to ever exist."
"Don't tell Gold. He might take it personally."
After lunch, the two changed and laid down for a bit. Before dinner, they napped, swam, and laid out on the deck. They had decided to have their meals sent to their room that day since they were going out the following day. Most likely they would have to stay in every other day depending on how Regina's body reacts. They had wine with dinner and Regina kept her promise to Emma that night in the pool. That was only the first day of their long-awaited honeymoon.
The next day, Emma and Regina had breakfast at the resort restaurant before venturing out to do a little shopping and sightseeing. They ate a lot at breakfast and had a small lunch so they could spend a lot of time out. Just in case they couldn't any other day. They did return to the resort for dinner. "It's so beautiful here," Regina said.
"We really should come here more often."
"Thank you for this."
"Well, you deserve a break."
"So do you."
"I know but it sounds selfish if I say it."
Regina laughed, "I'm so glad you were sleeping in your car in Storybrooke that day."
Emma smiled, "me too. Henry and I are very lucky that you wanted to help us. Thank you for saving me."
"We saved each other."
"More times than either of us could count."
"I can't believe we've been together for twenty years."
"Really? The gray hair you keep coloring says otherwise."
"I do not have gray hair!"
"No, because you color it."
"I don't have to color it. I just like to. Besides, I wouldn't have gray hair even if I didn't color it."
"Look at your life. Now look me in the eye and say that with a straight face."
"Next time, I'm coming here on my own."
"You do that and you won't get to do what we did last night."
"That's what you think."
Emma laughed and playfully whacked her wife. It was the first time in twenty years they were away from their children. Well, away from their children, fairytale trouble, and magic.
The rest of Emma and Regina's honeymoon was perfect. They ventured out of their hut two more times but were perfectly happy staying in. They had everything they needed right there in that hut. A few days were spent in the ocean. The water wasn't rough so Regina was less nervous. They went snorkeling, hung out with sea lions, and swam with dolphins. While they missed their family, the two were sad to leave. It was the honeymoon they had never had and always wanted.
Emma and Regina entered their house after work one Friday. "Surprise! Happy Anniversary!" All of their friends and family had planned a party for the couple. They greeted everyone before going to change.
"Emma, could you help me with this bracelet?"
"Sure," the blonde walked over to clasp the jewelry. "Are you alright?" she asked when she noticed her wife was a bit shaky.
"I'm just tired. I appreciate that they did this, but I wish it had been tomorrow."
"At least it's not fancy."
Regina smiled, "they know how much you'd complain if it was." Regina looked in the mirror, "maybe I should wear something else."
"Why?"
"This dress is just a little tight." Regina pulled out a different dress and placed it on the bed. "Emma, could you help me out of this one?"
Emma walked over and helped Regina change out of the purple strapless dress and into a red, laced, flare dress. "Feel better?"
"Yeah, thank you."
"Here," Emma handed her wife's cane to her. "Ready?"
Regina took Emma's arm and the two made their way to the party. Emma had Regina sit on the couch since she was so tired. They both enjoyed themselves but were happy to be in bed. Regina breathed a sigh of relief once her head hit the pillow and Emma smiled. "It was really a nice party, but damn, I'm so happy we're finally in bed," Regina said.
"I know," Emma agreed, "I've been wanting to go to bed for like three hours."
"I can't believe that Henry and Ella are going back to the Enchanted Forest."
"I can't believe they're leaving Lucky with us."
"Well, he's too young to go. Besides, it sounds like they won't necessarily be out of harm's way."
"They're going a good thing. People like them are needed over there. They're brave, strong, and smart. They'll be fine and help a lot of people."
"I know, but I don't have to like it."
"I never said you did and wouldn't expect you to."
"I love you."
"I love you too. Now, shut up so we can sleep."
Regina smiled at her wife. She and Emma turned their lights off before curling up in each other's arms and quickly drifting off to sleep.
