Blueeyeddevil06, thank you for being my beta and working on this story with me.
Amy was at the gym working out. She was pissed and wanted to hit something, so she decided a punching bag would do - for now. Where were the youma when you needed them? She suspected she was unfair to Mina, but she didn't care right now. Not when her anger was fueling her.
She wasn't someone who liked to live in the past. Yes, she was a Sailor Scout based on her previous life, but the danger was real and current. She loved Serena like family, and her desire to protect her was from who she was now and not because she had been a princess in a previous life. The moment Serena walked up to her and brought laughter to her lonely life, Amy knew she'd do anything for her. That was why she fought for and loved Serena.
She hated her past. Her father existed in that past, and she worked hard to make sure that was where he stayed. She knew if she started looking back at her past, he would be there.
She hit the bag harder and let out a grunt of frustration. She remembered him all too well. It was like he was haunting her even though he wasn't dead.
When it all blew up, it surprised her. Her parents never fought. She thought that meant they got along. It turned out her father just cared so little about her mother that he didn't spend the energy to care about anything that happened enough to start an argument.
Amy eventually figured out that when he was annoyed with his wife, he left and went to the bar and hung out with his friends. Then, by the end of the night, he'd find some willing woman and fuck her. It turned out he liked blondes based on the fact that two had shown up at the door to their home looking for him and explaining they were pregnant with his child. The fool would get drunk and not even use condoms.
When her mother found out about the string of one-night stands and potential STDs, she grew rightly furious and threw him out. She had a divorce attorney on the phone before he even made it to the car. She was pissed, and she called four more and set up appointments with all of them. They were the top attorneys, and once she consulted with them, they legally wouldn't be able to take him on as a client. She went full scorched earth policy on him.
Amy was heartbroken. Her mother was constantly in a bad mood, and she missed her daddy. After all, she was only ten at the time. She went to his office one day without telling her mother, and that was when he showed his ugliest side. He sat her down and explained he hadn't wanted children, but "mistakes" happen. She left that day and never saw him again.
She hit the punching bag even harder. She didn't hold back with the added strength that she had even without transforming into Sailor Mercury. It felt satisfying to be able to hit the bag so hard.
She hated the past, and now Mina wanted her to look back again. Zoisite. That name meant nothing to her, but Mina was sure Amy was destined to fall in love with him. In Mina's head, it didn't matter that he was evil. He was her true love. She'd insisted that Amy end things with the guy she was currently seeing.
Amy didn't want to do that. She liked him. He was intelligent and kind. He smiled at her, held the door for her, and held her hand. Also, he was incredibly strong and hot. He stirred something deep in her and made her insides melt. She loved it when he wrapped her up in his strong arms and kissed her until she couldn't remember her own name, and he made her moan his.
She liked now. She was happy and starting to fall for a guy for the first time. She was also top in her class in the pre-med program and had wonderful friends. She was even a superhero and got to use her brain in that too. Her friends loved her for who she was, and she was now special for that very same reason.
She continued hitting the punching bag and made her decision. She wouldn't look back. Mina could fuss all she wanted. She wouldn't hold out for Zoisite. She was looking forward, and the life she had was looking really good.
Serena was sitting in Raye's room at the shrine and comforting her. They had grown close quickly. Raye had spent so many long, lonely years that her sharp edges had dulled and she was just so grateful to have a friend who really cared about her.
After the Sailor Scout meeting with Mina and informing Raye about Jadeite, she'd been upset. She hadn't even realized at the time that Serena had noticed, and then Serena showed up and hugged her, promising it would all be okay. Raye broke down and cried for the first time in years.
"I don't even know how I feel about him. All I knew was that he was evil, and I stopped him. Now she says he's my true love," Raye said, wiping tears from her cheeks.
"Darien and I will figure out something. I really hope she's right, and he's locked in the stone."
"I don't even know how I feel about him."
Serena gave her a small smile and said, "That's up to you. As it stands, I still want to save them all. They didn't choose to be evil. It doesn't mean you have to choose to date them either."
Raye laughed at that, "Yeah, Amy didn't take that well, did she?"
Serena shook her head. "She really didn't. I will support Amy, though. Mina remembers the past, but that doesn't mean you're all forced into a relationship because of that. I won't let her interfere."
"Thank you. It's like Luna, isn't it? Mina and Artemis have decided they know what's best, and they feel they can make decisions for us." Raye was obviously upset.
Serena lightly shook her head, "I think it's out of a good place. She remembers you being happy and in love. Who wouldn't want that for you?"
"You're right, but… I want to fight on this, but I can't. She thinks she's looking out for us. Why does she get to remember, and we don't?"
"I don't know. But it's silly to be upset about that. After all, there's nothing we can do to change that."
Raye fiddled with the jadeite stone in her palm and then handed it back to Serena. "I do want him revived. I'm not saying I want to date him. I'm just saying he deserves not to be someone else's pawn."
"I just don't know how. Neither does Mina. I won't give up, though."
She mentioned the other fact that was bothering her, "What about Molly? I really like her."
"I'm not staying away from her. I don't give up on my friends, no matter what arguments Mina has for cutting her out. I know she didn't say it had to be that drastic, but keeping her out of this would distance us all from her, and I refuse to do that."
Raye was secretly thrilled to hear that. She was just learning about them all, and she liked that Serena was so loyal to her friends. "So, you plan to tell her?"
"She lives with two Sailor Scouts. She'll know something is up." She then sighed, "Now I have to figure out how to tell Lita that she's Sailor Jupiter. I would prefer she didn't have to find out as you and Amy did."
"It was certainly a shock!" Raye said, giggling. "It was pretty conclusive, though, that I wasn't hearing things. I knew right away that what the cat said was true."
"She's an alien from the planet Mau," Serena corrected, then laughed. Darien loved to point that out every time she called Luna a cat. She was picking up his habits.
Thinking of Darien made her smile, and she said, "Darien's certainly surrounded by women now. His quiet life seems to be over."
Ray scoffed, "Like he minds. That man wouldn't be surprised if you walked on water. He thinks you're perfect." She then smiled and said, "That makes me wonder about Jadeite. What if he could love me like that?"
"You'll have a chance to discover that. No pressure, but you could give him a chance. Maybe he'll sweep you off your feet."
"Maybe…"
Darien wrapped his arms around Serena that evening. "How was today?"
"It feels like Mina came in and created a mess. Amy and Raye are both mad at her."
He tightened his hold on her and kissed the top of her head, "And you?"
"Frustrated. I trust Molly, and she tried to order me not to tell her about being Sailor Moon."
"Tried?" he said smiling, knowing where this was headed.
She smirked up at him, "Well, I'm not going to listen to her. What do you think of Mina?"
He huffed out a breath and said, "That she's a bit of a problem right now. She says she's in charge of your scouts, but Amy and Raye are mad at her. How is she going to be a leader when they don't want to talk to her? That worries me for the next battle. I don't want us divided."
Serena sighed then too, "I guess I better talk to Mina and explain that I'm going to be calling the shots for a while. You're right, and I think they'll second guess her."
"Do you want me there when you talk to her?"
"No, I'm the princess. This is my duty."
