Blueeyeddevil06, thank you for being my beta and helping me with the chapter title.
Serena almost lost it when she discovered that Mina and Artemis had informed Lita she was Sailor Jupiter and not to tell Molly about the group. Lita had called all worked up and concerned over their friend. The Sailor Jupiter thing had startled her too, but with her large heart, she was the most upset over keeping Molly out of everything.
Serena rushed over to the girls' house, glad that only Lita was home right now, and brought Luna. She hugged Lita as soon as she opened the door, and once it closed, Luna was hissing out, "Of course we're telling Molly!"
Serena was quietly laughing to herself. She fully believed that Luna wouldn't feel that way if it wasn't for the fact that she was mad at Artemis and Mina. She figured she was taking Serena's side in this to be contrary more than in actual agreement with her.
Lita looked at Luna in shock and said, "But Mina said she's in charge."
Luna scoffed, "She's in charge of the scouts, but she answers to her princess. When they disagree, Serena gets to call the shots."
Serena drew her attention, "I'm telling Molly, and I'm going to talk to Mina. I didn't think she'd tell you about being a scout without me there."
"She said she was getting everyone together in order to protect you."
"I still wanted to be there."
Lita then invited her to sit and said, "I'm sorry I was so worked up. I just… Molly's one of us. I don't care what Mina says."
"You're right. But to be fair, Mina doesn't know her and doesn't know we can trust her. She's being careful with the limited information she has."
"You're always the peacemaker."
"It's true. She's trying to work from what she knows. I just need to inform her she doesn't have all the information. She wants everything like it was in our first lifetime, and Molly wasn't there."
"Yeah, and now apparently my soulmate is my enemy," Lita scoffed. "What am I supposed to do about that?!"
"I don't know," Serena said honestly. "I told Raye that I plan to heal all of the generals, but there will be zero pressure for any of you to date them. It's your decision."
"Raye?"
"You're not the only one mad at Mina. Right now, the list includes Luna, Amy, Raye, and you. Darien considers her a problem, but he's not mad at her."
"What about you?"
Serena smiled at her, "I'm the princess."
"I don't understand. You can still have feelings," Lita argued.
"There isn't a reason for me to get mad. I can talk to her and tell her that it isn't going to work the way she wants it to. Molly will find out, and you girls can all make decisions about your own love lives. There isn't a reason to be worked up." She smiled at Lita. "Everything will be okay."
Lita let out a huge breath, "You're right. Thank you. There isn't anyone I would rather have on my side." She then squeezed Serena's hand. "I'm happy to be one of the people protecting you."
Serena laughed at that, "You've been one of my biggest protectors long before this, Lita. This changes nothing except you get some cool superpowers."
Serena left an hour later, and Lita was smiling and happy.
Mina knocked on the door to Serena's apartment, smiled when Serena answered the door, and walked right in. "You mentioned Darien was gone tonight. Is it girl talk time?"
"Something like that. Relax first and sit down." Mina noticed that Serena wasn't smiling.
"You look serious. What's wrong? Is it the enemy?"
Serena shook her head, "Fine. I'll get right into it. I don't know an easy way to say this, but I need to run things with the scouts for now."
"What? How did I fail you already?"
"You haven't. They're just all… upset with you right now. I need them to listen in battle and not second-guess you."
Mina looked at her in shock, "What? Why are they upset with me? I haven't done anything."
"Mina, you came in and told them how to run their lives without getting to know them."
"I do know them! I know you all better than you know yourselves! I remember who you all really are!" Mina was frustrated that she was getting resistance when she was just trying to take care of everyone.
"Amy likes the guy she's dating -"
"She needs to date Zoisite. He's her other half!"
"Mina! Stop being defensive. Tell me why her caring for this guy is a big deal if you know Amy so well. Tell me why she never lets herself get attached. Where did her commitment issues come from?"
Mina looked at her in shock, "She has commitment issues? Did someone hurt her?"
"Yes, her father. He broke her heart and her trust in men when she was ten. This is huge for her that she's dating and likes this guy. Then you came in and tried to torch the relationship. You tried to make her question herself when this is the first time she was able to trust her own feelings with a man."
"Oh. I didn't know…."
Serena said kindly, "That's what I'm talking about. You don't know." She then took Mina's hand and said, "But that's okay. You still have value."
"What?" Mina looked panicked.
Serena squeezed her hand encouragingly and said, "You are one of us, and I instantly liked you. You don't need to prove your worth to be accepted. I already see your value, Mina."
Mina's eyes misted up, "I'm an outsider."
"No, you're my friend, and I'm loyal to my friends. You're new to the group, but you're one of us. You matter to me." She watched her words impact Mina, and she knew she was right. Mina had been trying to earn her spot in Serena's life. It was why she pushed so hard.
"I'm going to tell Molly about us all, and the girls get to choose who they date. I've made my decision on that. I'm also going to do what I can, and we're going to save the generals. I'll get Kunzite back for you. I know you still love him."
Mina couldn't choke back her sob and cried all over Serena. A few minutes later, she was able to get herself under control, and she said, "I have to get him back. I love him so much. What does it say if the girls don't fall in love with the generals, though? Does that mean that even when he's healed, he might not love me?" She felt a bit of relief just speaking her deepest darkest fear.
Serena smiled kindly and said, "He'd be a fool to not fall in love with you. And, you may be right, and the girls will all fall for the generals. But that will be their choice. You can't force love even if it's meant to be. Actually, especially if it's meant to be. If that's the case, they will fall in love, and you won't have to do anything. Kunzite will love you, though."
"How do you know?"
"If he doesn't, I'll let Beryl keep him," she teased.
