Regina and Snow were sitting at the kitchen table looking at things for the baby. When Regina looked up she noticed a smile on Snow's face. "What are you smiling about?"

Snow chuckled, "it's just, well, you were my stepmother and now I'm your mother-in-law."

Regina chuckled as well, "it is a bit strange."

"That's okay," Snow placed a hand on Regina's shaking one.

Regina looked down at the hands, "I wish that would stop."

"I know," Snow looked at the woman with sympathy.

"What if this makes me drop the baby?"

"You won't drop your baby."

"I'm not cut out for this."

"Have you met Henry?"

"I don't know how to be a mother to a girl."

"A girl?"

"Uh-oh," Regina was mentally kicking herself, "sorry. You didn't want to know."

Snow smiled, "I don't care because I'm too excited about the baby being a girl."

"What if I end up being like my mother?"

"You won't," Snow reassured the woman.

"You don't know that."

"Yes, I do."

Regina winced, "she loves kicking my ribs. I've seen her fist fly here and there too."

Snow giggled, "I remember all the movement."

Emma rushed into the room, "hey, I'm glad you're both here because we need to talk."

"What's wrong?" Snow asked.

Emma sat next to her wife and took her hand, "I'm about to tell you something that may be difficult to hear." The blonde took a deep breath, "Cora's alive."

"What? How?"

"I guess Gold used healing magic on her. I'm not sure why."

"I can't let her see me like this."

"Pregnant?"

"Weak," she gestured to the wheelchair.

"I've already seen and spoken to Cora. She knows everything and has been warned about treating you badly."

"Does she know we're married?"

"Yes," Emma answered, "that was an interesting conversation."

Emma heard a knock at her office door, "come in," she said. "How can I...," she couldn't believe the sight before her, "Cora?"

"Hi, Emma," the woman said nervously.

"But, how?"

"Gold," she answered, "don't worry, I still have my heart." Cora reached in and took out the beating organ before putting it back. "I've been trying to give Regina some space before I showed up."

"Why did you come to me?"

"Gold said I should."

"Then you don't know."

"Know what?"

"Sit down," Emma waited until Cora sat, "after your, well, what we thought was your death, Regina and I became closer. Long story short, we got married a few weeks ago."

"I don't understand. She was in love with Daniel."

"I've been in love with men before too. Something just felt right."

"Okay, I mean, this will take some getting use to."

"There's more," Emma said. "about nine months ago, Regina suffered a stroke while she was driving home. Her car crashed into a tree, but she had no injuries from the car accident." Emma went on to explain what a stroke was to Cora who was unfamiliar with it, having lived in other realms where the condition was not named.

"She's getting better?"

"Yes, but she's also seven months pregnant."

"How? If the two of you are together..."

"She was raped."

Emma saw Cora nearly fall apart, "this is a lot to take in."

"I know, but you needed to know all of this before you see her."

"I understand," Cora answered, "should I wait?"

"No, but you can't ride her about not being able to walk. Don't call her weak or blame her for anything that's happened. She thinks that she deserved the stroke and rape."

"No, she didn't. I'll be careful what I say," Cora said. "I'll go now and wait until you've told her to ring the bell."

"Give me five minutes before you ring it," Emma said, "now, let's go home."

The doorbell rang and Regina jumped. Emma went to answer the door. "We'll be right here," Snow said and took the woman's hand.

"Honey," Emma walked back into the room, "you have a visitor."

Cora walked around to face Regina. Snow stood and offered the woman her seat. She thanked Snow and sat down. "Would you like us to stay?" Snow asked.

"I should be fine. Just don't go far," Regina answered. Once the two women had left, Regina found the strength to speak, "Gold healed you?"

"He said that when he watched me die in your arms it reminded him of his son and how grateful he was to have another chance. I don't owe him anything, but I told him to ask if he needed something. I decided to give you some space after I was healed. You look just beautiful."

"Thank you," Regina smiled.

"How are you doing? Emma told me everything."

"Well, before I got pregnant I was able to walk around with a cane. This pregnancy has just drained me of any energy I had."

"Well, pretty soon you'll have your baby in your arms and be walking with that cane in no time."

"You're not going to say something negative about my condition."

"I have my heart, remember? Besides, it's not your fault. Emma told me you think that you deserved this."

"After everything I've done...yes." Regina winced and tried to adjust her position.

"Would you like some help?"

"Sure," she answered.

"Is there somewhere more comfortable for you to sit?"

"The couch is fine."

Cora wheeled her daughter to the living room and helped her move to the couch, "is that better?"

"Much, but could you place a pillow behind me at my lower back?"

"Sure," Cora grabbed a pillow, "lean forward," the woman placed the pillow in its spot and helped her daughter settle into the spot.

"Thank you, mother."

"Anytime," Cora meant it and was a different person now. She realized how much she wanted them to be a real family. There were two people missing, but she only knew where one of them was. That would have to be good enough for now.
