Emma's pregnancy was far easier than Regina's for the obvious reason. Plus, Henry Sr. kept his word and went to the house every day to help. There were times when Emma worked from home or was off so her father-in-law was able to have a break. The couple decided to wait and find out the gender at birth. It took Regina two months to get back to where she was before her pregnancy.

"I'm really proud of you," Emma told her wife in bed one night.

"Why's that?"

"Look how far you've come. You have really settled into motherhood again. Odette just adores you and you're great with her."

"Thank you, dear. That means a lot to me," Regina kissed her wife and placed a hand on the woman's nearly six-month bump. "I can't wait to meet this one. I'll admit, I'm jealous of how easy this has been for you."

"Well, it probably would have been easy for you too if you didn't have other health issues."

"Yeah, I don't care."

Emma chuckled, "I know and I'm sorry you had such a rough time."

"I know," Regina said softly, "let's go to sleep. You need all the rest you can get."

Emma and Regina snuggled together. Regina would sleep with her hand on Emma's belly which is something Emma had started doing when Regina was pregnant with Odette.

A few weeks later, Emma was in her hospital bed while Regina sat by her bedside. The blonde had gone into labor two days after her due date.

"Honey, you don't have to be here," Emma said.

"Are you crazy? I would never miss this."

"I know, but..."

"But what?"

Emma stared at her wife. She could tell that Regina knew what she was thinking. "But we don't know how long it will be and I don't want you to become too tired."

"I appreciate your concern, but I'm not leaving. I can sit right here in this chair while you're in labor. I can even sit here during delivery."

Emma's face contorted in pain when another contraction hit. Regina took her wife's hand and helped her through. Emma had been through this before, but Regina had given birth after having a stroke. "How did you do this?"

"Painfully," Regina answered.

"Yeah, not helping."

"Would you like some ice chips?"

"You're not going to get them."

"Why not?"

"I'll worry if you do." Emma could tell she had hurt the brunette's feelings. "I'm sorry," she sighed.

"It's okay," Regina shrugged.

"No, it's not. You are very capable and I just keep hovering. It's just, I worry that the moment I don't hover, is the moment you'll be badly hurt. I wasn't hovering when you were experiencing stroke symptoms or when you had your stroke. I wasn't hovering when you were raped."

"Have you been blaming yourself the past year and a half?"

"Kind of," Emma had a guilty expression on her face.

"It's not your fault. I knew that I didn't feel well but I also knew that it would be hard to find someone to treat me. Rothbart would have come after me whether you were home or not. If you had been home then he would have hurt you too. I'm glad you weren't home."

"Thanks," Emma smiled.

"You're welcome, dear."

Regina stood by her wife holding her hand as she pushed for about a half-hour. A little after five in the morning, a loud cry filled the room, "you have a baby girl," the nurse said. "Madam Mayor, would you like to cut the umbilical cord?"

Regina smiled for a moment before realizing something, "I don't know if I should." She held up her shaking hands to show the nurse. The young woman placed the baby in the bassinette before walking over to Regina with scissors.

"Here, just take your time," the nurse said, "I can hold your wrist if you'd like." Regina just nodded and the nurse tried to steady the woman's hand. Upon being able to safely cut the umbilical cord, Regina smiled. The medical staff took the baby to be cleaned and examined. When they brought her back, the nurse went to hand Emma the baby.

"Actually, could you hand her to her mom first?"

The nurse smiled, "of course."

Regina held the baby for a moment. The woman began to cry, "she's perfect." After a moment, Regina handed the baby to Emma. "Do you have a name?"

"Faline Regina Mills," she announced.

"You don't have to do that."

"Do what?"

"Name your baby after me."

"Our baby," Emma corrected, "and I wanted to name her after someone I love. Just shut up and smile."

"Yes, dear," Regina said.

Regina was just as in love with Faline as she was with Odette. Emma felt the same way. It didn't matter who birthed the children. The point was Henry, Odette, and Faline were the children of Emma and Regina Mills. DNA wouldn't change that.
