Cora and Henry Sr. stayed with Henry and Faline while Regina, Emma, Snow, and Charming headed to Swan Lake. When they reached the lake they noticed how depressed Odette looked. A deep voice came out of nowhere, "I knew this would work."

Suddenly a man appeared in a cloud of smoke. When the smoke went away it revealed the man's identity, "Rothbart," Regina said as she began to panic.

"You have a lot of explaining to do. your majesty."

"Regina, what's he talking about?" Emma asked.

"You didn't tell the little woman?"

Emma noticed the fear on her wife's face, "hey, what's going on?" she asked Regina softly.

"Regina," Rothbart bellowed, "did you really think you could keep my daughter away from me?"

Emma looked at her wife confused, "daughter? Wait, Rothbart is the one who raped you?"

"Yes," Regina said softly.

"It's no worse than anything her majesty has done," Rothbart said.

"Hey!" Emma was cut off when her wife grabbed her arm. She turned to look at Regina.

"You and your parents need to step back. This is my fight."

"Are you crazy? You can't do this."

Regina had a look of hurt on her face, "I thought of all people, you would believe in me." Regina used her magic to push Emma and her parents away. They were still within sight, but couldn't reach the fight as easily. Regina conjured up a fireball and threw it at Rothbart who dodged it.

"Is that the best you've got?"

"I'm just getting warmed up."

Odette watched as Regina went after Rothbart. The woman fought harder than she ever had before, but it was no use. Her magic wasn't what it was before her stroke and Regina was thrown into a tree. Emma, Snow, and Charming went after Rothbart but stopped when they saw Odette furiously flap her wings. Emma went over to check on Regina while her parents stood by to help Odette.

"Hey, are you alright?"

"I think so," Regina answered shakily. "She's gonna get herself killed."

Emma helped Regina sit up and held onto her while they watched Odette begin to fight. She'd flap her wings and magic began to happen. She was able to shake the ground Rothbart was on, enough to knock him down. Rothbart stood and found the young swan, but her love for her mother was stronger than his magic. Soon, Rothbart was a pile of dust, carried away by the wind. Odette flew to her moms, honking at them.

"Hey, princess," Emma said, "you were great."

Odette honked and waddled towards Regina, "I'm so proud of you," she said weakly.

"How do we break the spell?" Snow asked.

Emma looked up sadly at her parents, "we were never able to find out."

"Odette, I want you to know that I have always loved you more than anything. You, Henry, Faline, and your mama are the best part of my life," Regina said emotionally.

"Emma," Charming spoke up, "we really should get Regina to the hospital."

Odette moved closer to her mom and kissed her cheek. She then moved so Regina could do the same. Charming lifted the woman to carry her out of the woods. Odette knew something her family didn't know. She flew back to the lake and sat where the moon hit. In a flash, she was transformed back into a little girl. She ran towards her family but noticed her mom wasn't awake. Emma took her daughter into her arms and held her as she cried.

Regina was fine for the most part. She was just exhausted and bruised. Luckily nothing was cracked or broken but she would be in pain for a little while. Odette quietly opened the door to her mom's hospital room. Regina looked over at the sound of the door opening, "Odette," she whispered.

"You broke the spell."

"How?"

"True love always wins."

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah, but I'm sorry for how I acted. I was really mean to you and I feel bad."

"Thank you," Regina said.

"Mommy, when you're better will you do my hair?"

Regina smiled at her daughter, "I would love to. Maybe mama and I can take turns?"

Odette flung herself onto her mom and hugged her tightly. Regina didn't mind the pain, "I love you, mommy. Thank you for saving me."

"I love you too and I will always fight for you, my swan princess."

Odette fell asleep in her mother's arms. Regina looked up when her door opened. A guilty-looking Cora walked in, "how are you?"

"I'm fine," Regina said softly.

"How's Odette?"

"She's fine too."

"Look, I'm sorry for what I said to her. I was trying to explain what a good mother you are and that you have only ever wanted the best life for her. I just didn't explain you considering giving her up the right way, I guess."

"I'm not happy, but I forgive you. I know how much you love your grandchildren and would never intentionally hurt them."

"I hear our little swan princess killed Rothbart."

Regina smiled with pride, "you should have seen her. She was incredible. After Rothbart attacked me, she just went after him."

"That's our girl."

Three days later, Emma helped her wife into their home through the back door, "easy," she said. Regina had barely spoken to Emma since the battle with Rothbart. Emma helped her wife over to the kitchen table and had her sit.

"What are you doing?" Regina asked.

"I need you to talk to me. You have been so distant since that night at the lake. I know why you're mad at me."

"Then why do you need me to talk?"

"Look, it's not that I don't think you are capable of defeating someone. You have to realize that your magic has not been the same since your stroke. It's not as strong and that's not your fault. I was worried you would get hurt or worse."

Regina took Emma's hand, "I'm so sorry, dear. I was so preoccupied with saving Odette that I didn't think about that."

"I believe in you."

"I know you do."

"Are you ready to lie down?"

"I actually am. It would be nice to be in my own bed and not a hospital bed. Those things aren't nearly as comfortable as regular beds."

Emma got Regina settled in bed with water, a book, and her phone. The mayor didn't need the book because she instantly fell asleep.
