It had been a week since Odette's kidnapping. Rothbart was found in a castle a few miles from the lake. He had moved locations to throw everyone off. Robin had spent every night watching over Odette. They got to know one another by sending each other magical notes. Cora had given Robin some magic to protect himself while she helped find a way to break the spell. Everyone stormed the castle to fight Rothbart. Regina had to stay behind and Henry Sr. did as well to help her with the children. Odette had transformed and joined the others. The sorcerer was quite powerful and fought hard, but he didn't have the strongest type of magic. He didn't have love. The love everyone had for Odette was far stronger than anything Rothbart could throw at them. Before he died, Rothbart revealed that Odette's spell had an end date and time. The date was that very day and the time was quickly approaching. He revealed that if she hadn't received true love's kiss at the lake in time that she would die. Robin ran to his horse and rushed to the lake as Odette flew furiously back to her life source. He hoped he wasn't too late. He found Odette in her human form lying on the ground. She hadn't made it to the lake in time. He ran to her side and gently lifted her into his arms. "No, no, no, Odette, please don't die. I promised you would be okay."
Odette's eyes fluttered open, "Robin," she said weakly.
"Hey, see you're going to be alright."
"I need you to make sure...that my family, especially my mother, knows...how much I loved them."
"I won't need to because you're going to be alright." Robin kissed Odette, softly, on her lips. Odette turned back into a swan and Robin placed her in the lake to try and save her. She floated to the center and when the moon reappeared from behind the clouds, it was no longer full. Yet, he watched as Odette transformed back. Not only that, but she was alive and well. "Odette," he smiled and felt his eyes water. Robin ran through the lake and lifted Odette up, swinging her around.
"You saved me," she said.
"I love you so much."
"I love you too," Odette kissed Robin who lifted the princess and carried her out of the forest where his horse was waiting.
"I know you live at the castle, but I'm pretty sure everyone is in Storybrooke."
"How sure are you?"
"Okay, I know they're in Storybrooke."
Robin and Odette rode off towards the town. Faline was the one who noticed them approaching, "he did it!" she yelled and pointed towards the horse.
Robin stopped and got down before helping Odette. The eighteen-year-old ran to Emma and hugged her. Odette's siblings, Ella, and Lucy joined in the hug. David and Snow were next. Followed by Cora and Henry Sr. Odette turned and saw Regina standing with Emma holding onto her. The brunette was in tears and Odette walked over before gently hugging her mother. "I was so worried about you," Odette said.
"I was just going to say the same."
Once the hug was over, Emma helped her wife sit back down. "I'll be right back."
The two women watched as Odette walked over to Robin. The two walked hand in hand to the center of where everyone was gathered. "Can we have your attention?" Robin asked.
Everyone went silent and turned towards the couple, "I want to thank everyone for helping to search for me and trying to find a way to break the spell. I also really appreciate everyone who helped my mom after she was injured."
"Is there anything else?" Emma asked with a smile.
Odette smiled back, "while I was under the spell, Robin would visit me every night. I didn't always transform back from a swan, but he kept me company."
"I have already spoken to Emma and Regina," Robin added.
"We're getting married," Odette announced.
Everyone cheered and congratulated the couple. It was a bitter-sweet moment for Regina. While she was thrilled for her daughter, she also felt that she was losing her. Robin's son Roland was excited about the engagement and ran to Odette's arms. Only Emma noticed the look of sadness her wife had so desperately tried to hide. When they arrived home, Emma decided to talk to her wife. Once the boys and Stella were in bed, she approached her wife who was sitting in the backyard, staring at her apple tree. "Do you want to talk about it?"
"What do you mean?"
"Honey, I saw the look on your face after Odette announced her engagement."
"I've always been afraid of losing her. Robin is basically a gypsy. She'll be on the move with him and we'll never see her."
"I doubt Odette could stay away."
"I'm happy for her, but...God, I'm so selfish."
"No, you're a mother who deeply loves her children."
The next day, Odette walked into the kitchen of her childhood home where her mother was baking. Regina would always bake when she was upset or stressed.
"Need a hand?" the princess asked.
Regina turned around at the sound of her daughter's voice, "well, this is a nice surprise," she smiled. "What are you doing here?"
"Can't a girl visit her mother? So, do you need a hand with anything?" Regina waved her daughter over to hug her. Odette noticed that her mother's hands were trembling more than usual. She could also tell that the woman was having trouble staying on her feet. Regina turned back towards her work, but Odette took both of her mother's hands and turned the woman to face her. "Mother," she said softly, "you need to rest." Regina didn't move or say anything, "we can finish this later. Please, mommy, for me." Regina just nodded. Odette handed the cane to her mother. The girl became worried when Regina took her arm without it being offered. Odette helped her mother to the couch and then sat beside her. "Are you okay?"
"Yes," Regina said quietly, "thank you."
"Mama called me."
Regina sighed and rolled her eyes, "I knew she would. I should have never said anything to her. She does this every time."
"Because she cares about you and knows you won't tell us yourself."
"Sweetheart, I'm fine. Really I am."
"Mommy, I'll never leave you. I won't be going with Robin on his quests. I may every now and then, but after everything we've been through I could never leave you."
Regina was in tears at this point, "I just want you to be happy. Don't do something because of me. Do it because you want to."
"I want to, and we're moving to Storybrooke."
"What?"
"Papa and gigi gifted us their townhouse."
"That's wonderful, but where are they going to live?"
"I think they're still trying to figure that out. Maybe they'll take grandma and grandpa's old loft."
Regina smiled knowing her daughter would be nearby. There have been a few times where she's almost lost Odette and the thought of losing her again terrified the woman. Now, she didn't fear losing her daughter because she would be right there in town with her. Robin and Odette married three months later and three months after their wedding, they announced another little swan was on the way.
