It took a lot out of Regina to take care of the boys in the beginning. Emma did her best to help Regina relax and no overdo it. It was hard for Regina to use her cane when needed because the boys would use it as a toy. Regina was sitting on the couch while the boys played in front of her. Emma had gone out for groceries. The boys kept trying to get Regina to play on the floor with them. Regina eventually caved. She grabbed her cane to help her steady herself more as she slid to the floor. Then she had to scoot to where the boys were. Regina was four months pregnant with baby number four and exhausted. She insisted to Emma that she was fine. The boys started playing with Regina's cane as always, "boys, put that down." They continued to play, "that's not a toy." Henry and Remy took off running. Oliver was still crawling as he was just six months old. He did begin to crawl after his brothers. Regina struggled to pull herself to her feet and almost fell over. While she had to hurry, she also had to be careful. She turned the corner and tripped over Oliver. Regina fell onto her side. After a moment, she collected herself and used the wall to stand. It hurt when she bent down to pick up Oliver. Regina carefully went back to the living room and placed her youngest in the playpen. She grabbed the monitor and went to find Henry and Remy. She looked everywhere and even went upstairs. When she went outside, her panic increased. They were nowhere to be seen.
Emma was pulling into the driveway when she saw Regina wandering around. She put the car in park and got out. "Hey, what are you doing?" As she got closer, she realized something was wrong, "Regina, what happened?"
"I got on the floor to play with the boys," her voice was shaky and breathless, "they started playing with my cane. Henry and Remy took off with it and Oliver went after them. I was able to get Oliver in his playpen, but I can't find Henry or Remy. I looked everywhere."
"Okay, let's get you inside. I'll call some people to start looking around and then go look myself. I'll take Oliver so you can rest." Emma noticed a pained expression on Regina's face as they slowly walked back into the house. Regina was in tears and Emma hated to leave her like that. The blonde called Granny, Ruby, Mary Margaret, and Mother Superior. They all went to search for the one-and-a-half-year-old and one-year-old.
It was starting to get dark and Regina was becoming more worried. No one had called or returned with the boys. There was a knock at the door and Regina stood as quickly as possible. It was difficult to make it down the steps, but she did. Gold was on the other side of the door, "now is not a good time."
"I just wanted to drop this off," Gold handed Regina her cane, "it was on the ground outside of my shop."
"Did you see Henry or Remy?" she asked desperately.
"No, why would I?"
"They took off with this hours ago and I couldn't catch up to them. Emma is out with a few others looking for them."
"I didn't see them, but if I do I'll let you know."
"You are telling me the truth. Right?"
"As someone who has lost a child, I would never keep the whereabouts of another's a secret."
"Sorry," she said softly.
"I would have asked the same thing."
Regina thank Gold and shut the door. She slowly made her way up the stairs again. Mary Margaret and Mother Superior returned. They saw the look of disappointment and fear on Regina's face, "we covered our area and Emma asked us to sit with you," the teacher said.
"This is all my fault," Regina said as tears began to fall, "I shouldn't have children. I can't care for them or protect them."
"That's not true," the nun said. "You are just having trouble because of your pregnancy."
Granny and Ruby walked in, "you two didn't find them either?" Granny asked.
Regina gasped and everyone turned to see she was in pain, "Regina, what's wrong?" Mary Margaret asked.
"It hurts so much."
"What hurts?"
"I fell earlier. I tripped on Oliver and fell on my side. I didn't tell Emma because I wanted her to look for the boys," Regina winced and gasped in pain again. She clutched her belly.
"I'll call the paramedics," Ruby said.
The other three sat there trying to reassure Regina and comfort her. Mary Margaret went in the ambulance with the mayor. Granny and Mother Superior followed in Granny's car. Ruby went to find Emma. The blonde was in the forest, "Emma!" Ruby yelled and Emma turned around. She still had Oliver with her.
"Ruby, did you find them?"
"No, but Regina was taken to the hospital by the paramedics."
"What?"
"She tripped over Oliver and fell earlier. She didn't tell you because..."
"She wanted me to find the boys."
"Granny, Mary Margaret, and Mother Superior went with her. Take Oliver and go to her. I'll finish checking this area."
"They aren't here. This is the third time I've checked."
"Graham is still looking. He'll find them."
Emma and Ruby ran to the blonde's car and drove to the hospital.
