Blueeyeddevil06, thank you for being my beta and helping me frame this story.

Jadeite bowed to Raye's grandfather. "May I talk to you a moment, sir?"

He regarded him skeptically, "What is it that you want? I'm sure it has to do with my beautiful granddaughter."

"It does…." He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck nervously, "I know you worry about her."

"And you want what? You do realize that I will beat you if you hurt her, right? You're already pledged to her."

"No! That's not it. Well, yeah, I want to marry her. You've seen the ring, but I came to talk to you about... her father."

That got his full attention, and he turned to face Jadeite fully. "I'm glad you see he's a problem, but what do you think you can do?"

"I can't do anything. But I have a friend who will be keeping an eye on her at the fundraisers he has. I just figured you'd be worried about her too and would like to know. He's wealthy and will make sure he doesn't… expect too much or let anyone get too forward with her. I worry about what he'd do to get donations."

"I do too." He sighed. "Thank you for doing that, I feel much better knowing she has some help at those events. Especially since your friend is wealthy and my son won't risk pissing him off."

When Jadeite left, her grandfather sighed in immense relief. He reluctantly admitted that Jadeite seemed like a good man for her. No matter how quickly they got engaged.

"So, that's quite the ring she's wearing," Kenji said, looking at Darien seriously.

It was after dinner, and the two of them were sitting out back, talking.

"Yes, sir, I wanted her and everyone else to know how seriously I take her. I also wanted her to know how much I value her. Well, it's a symbol of that."

"There were rumors I didn't know if I should believe…. It seems you are a man of some means." Kenji looked apologetic, "I don't wish to pry or even ask. It's just that -"

Darien locked eyes with him, "She deserves everything I can afford to give. I didn't behave irresponsibly when I bought that ring."

"Good. I don't want her married to a man that can't live within his means."

"My parents died when I was six. While I did live in an orphanage, they left me quite a lot of money. Where they didn't provide for me, a guardian should something happen to them, they did provide financially."

Serena's father sighed sadly, "I can't fathom not… nevermind. I shouldn't."

He then changed the subject. "I've heard from my wife that your schooling is going quite well. Top marks on all your tests. Well done!"

Darien blushed under his praise, and his heart warmed. Kenji was the closest thing he ever had to a father to praise him. It felt really good.

Lita moaned into Nephrite's kiss. It was so passionate and so consuming that her toes didn't just curl. Her whole body felt like she did when she was fighting, and she was charged with her lightning strikes. It overwhelmed her. She found herself, to her shock, desperately clinging to him.

When they separated, he gave her a satisfied smile when he saw how affected by the kiss she was. "I never feel so alive as when I'm with you. Something about you makes everything clearer and more intense."

She blushed up at him and bit her lip, "And I feel like I end up in a fog when I'm around you. Everything disappears except for you."

He smiled and pulled her into his embrace, holding her tightly. "I'm thankful every second that I'm with you now. You have my devotion, beautiful Lita."

Raye got in her father's car dressed to the nines for the fundraiser at the art museum. He smiled at her, and she instantly grew nervous. It was unsettling.

"I know you're engaged now, but I need you to switch that ring to your right hand. The son of one of my contributors has a thing for you, and I need you to be nice to him tonight."

"Fuck no."

"Watch your language!" He glared at her. "I'll have the check tonight, and then you can ignore him."

She glared at him, "I'm afraid to even ask what you'd expect. There's no way."

He shook her shoulder and said, "You little fucking bitch! You will listen to me! You will entertain him tonight. I'm not asking you to sleep with him. I just need you to let him touch you a bit. Put that figure to good use."

"You want me to let him touch me? What the hell is wrong with you? You've never asked for that before! I will kick his ass if he so much as touches my elbow. You're warned, Takashi."

He turned to her and glared daggers at her. "You promised to help!"

"I'm not a whore, and you're not my pimp. I won't let you sell my body for money."

He pulled out of the driveway, quickly cursing. "You really are useless."

She was relieved that Rick would be at the party that night; she was nervous over what would have happened otherwise, especially now that she knew who her father was becoming.

"Like hell, we're keeping this from her!" Andrew yelled. "I get that she's your sister, Rick, and that's different, but I'm in love with her already. I refuse to keep something this big from her."

Darien looked at him in shock, "But I asked you to keep it a secret."

"Because that's what Rick wants. I can't believe you'd really want me to have to lie to the girl I love. You wouldn't do that to Serena."

"Well, yeah…"

Rick glared at Darien, "You're backing down too easily. If she finds out, she might stay."

Andrew snorted at that and shook his head, "I wouldn't allow that either. She's not the only one who's fighting for her dreams. I am too. When she's here, she's in danger. Even if it's slight, she has to know she can go to you. I want her protected."

"She's my sister!"

"And you're allowed to be wrong when it comes to her. I won't let you keep her out of this. If Darien really pushes and can honestly say he'd keep Serena out of this if he were in my place, then fine, I'll stay quiet. But we all know he can't." Andrew then looked at Darien and waited for his response.

"You can tell her. You're right. I would want to tell Serena. She should know she could come to us if she needed someone. She's connected through Rick and you."

"Thank you," he said sincerely.

Rick grumbled, "I don't agree with this at all, but I admit that I might be wrong. I just want my sister safe."

"And knowing about them won't put her in danger."

"But she's brave, and if she knows she could be helping us, then she might do something dangerous. I want her to run like hell if she ever comes across a youma."

Andrew rolled his eyes, "Like we will? Just because we know doesn't mean we're stupid enough to try and fight them."

Darien chuckled when Rick blushed pink at Andrew's statement. He enlightened him by saying, "Rick made contact with Elis recently to keep an eye on Raye. He has jumped in to get involved. He'll be Beryl's next person she uses to attack us."

"No wonder you're worried about your sister getting involved. You already are."

"Yeah, I… I want to help, and I made a difference. It felt good."

Darien added, "And Rita would have been able to do the same thing Rick did. He was able to help because of their family's money. He knows she could have just as easily been involved."

"But that would be her choice," Andrew said. "I won't take that from her."

Rick looked Andrew in the eye and said, "As a man, I respect you for that. As a brother, that's hard to hear. Still, you're good for her."

"I don't know about being good for her. I just know I will support her and love her."

"That's exactly what I meant."

An alarm went off on Rick's phone. "Well, I have to head out. It's not like you need me for the rest of this. I'm sure Andrew has questions. I have a date tonight with Molly."

Darien smiled, "And are you surprising her with the new apartment?"

"Yup! I even got her a Sailor Moon keychain for the apartment key. I couldn't help myself."

They all chuckled at that, and Rick headed out.

Andrew then turned to Darien, "So, fated love? It seems I've heard that before."

"Yeah, she said that in the arcade after I screwed up and you stole her phone."

Andrew blushed lightly, "She told you about that?" He then ran his fingers through his hair.

"Yeah, she's not good at keeping secrets."

"She's Sailor Moon! I think she is good at that."

"Okay, so she's not good at keeping secrets from me. And if she does try to hide anything, Luna tells on her."

"The cat?" Andrew asked, pointing to the feline laying on the arm of the couch.

"Hey!" She objected. "I'm an alien from the planet Mau."

Andrew blanched at that, "So you haven't told me everything yet."

"To be fair, there's a lot to tell," Luna said, smirking.
