Blueeyeddevil06, thank you for being my beta!
Lita let Serena in the front door, and she was smiling, "You brought Luna?"
"Well, it's girls' night after all," she said, laughing and holding up the bag Luna was peaking out of.
"This should get interesting then. I guess I didn't get to you that Rita is here. Molly brought her."
Serena paled and ducked her head a bit, "I hope Andrew and Rick don't mind us letting her in on everything then. The cat's out of the bag... well, soon."
Luna looked up at her, rolled her eyes, and leapt out of the bag, sauntering into the living room acting like a cat.
"See?" Serena asked.
Lita just shook her head at Serena and said, "Well, it will be an interesting night for sure."
Serena, without Darien to help her be on time, was the last to arrive. Raye asked, "So please tell me they're not watching a Batman movie tonight. Do you know how many times Jadeite asks me if I'd like to see a magic trick?!"
Amy groaned, "Probably as many times as Zoisite points out that the Gotham in The Dark Knight was gritty and real. Also how psychosis can affect an individual."
"Well, I bought a costume," Mina said. "As soon as they watch Batman Returns, I'm pulling out my Catwoman costume. I put in a special request tonight that they watch that one."
Serena laughed and said, "That makes so much sense now when I asked what they were watching. Darien just answered that he was helping his friend have a good evening."
Mina leapt up and cheered. "Yeah! This is going to be so much fun. I bought a whip too."
Molly was choking on her laugh and everyone looked at her funny. She blushed and said, "I shouldn't say with Rita here."
"Ooooh, now I really want to know," Mina pressed.
Molly whispered, "You aren't the only one who has a Catwoman outfit."
Rita pretended to gag, "That's my little brother! He's…" She paused and looked questioningly, "He's into that stuff?"
Molly's eyes grew wide, "Yeah, I'm not having this conversation with you."
"Fair enough." Rita smirked and smiled at Mina, "Apparently, my brother is pretty kinky."
Mina laughed and said, "Well, Molly's hot, so can you blame him?"
Raye scoffed, "We're all hot. Let's move on."
"How's your father?" Lita asked.
"Turning into even more of a monster. He wanted me to let a guy's son touch me for a campaign contribution. He's off the rails."
Amy looked at her sadly, "I know you understand when I say it isn't you. I've had to face that with my father too. He's just an asshole."
"Amy swears?" Molly asked. "Since when?"
"When I really mean it. Fathers should value their children."
Molly nodded, "You're absolutely right. They don't a lot of times, though."
Rita looked at Molly earnestly, "My father loves you already. You know that, right?"
"Yes," she blushed. "Your parents have been so good to me. I… I can't ever thank them enough."
"You don't have to. You're perfect for Rick, and you're everything my mom wanted for him in a woman that she was afraid he'd never find. You're her deepest hope for her son."
Molly looked at her misty-eyed, "I've really loved spending time with your family. They've been so good to me." She then blushed lightly, "And I love your brother."
"Can I ask what happened to your dad?"
"Yes. Nothing epic or horrible. My parents are divorced, and he took a job in England. We still talk." She shrugged, "He calls me every week. He's just never been to anything for me growing up." She looked over at Serena. "When he left, Serena stepped in. I know it's weird to say, but I didn't need him anymore. Some people just have so much love and kindness that you feel special because they're in your life."
Rita looked thoughtfully at Serena. "Andrew calls you his little sister, and Rick even seems protective of you. I'm excited to get to know you when everyone cares for you so much."
Molly pulled out a key with a Sailor Moon keychain on it. "Rick and I will be sharing an apartment in the same building as you. I think Andrew is right, though. It's time she knows."
"What does that have to do with anything?" Raye asked.
Serena smiled, "Sailor Moon. It's time we tell her." She looked at Rita. "Andrew wanted you to know, Rick wanted his sister away from all of this and protected."
Rita rolled her eyes, "Rick acts like I'm his little sister. It's annoying."
Molly objected, "He just doesn't want you to have extra ties here. He wants you to go out and achieve your dreams."
"Said like a woman in love with him."
"Said like I've heard his speech over and over again. Seriously, he really wants you to go out and achieve everything you ever wanted. He's proud of you. It makes me more confident in him, actually. He's impressed with and not scared of strong women."
"No, he's not," Mina agreed. "In fact, he's completely supportive."
Molly smiled, "It's exciting to have found him. Mom thinks he's wonderful too. She 'made her mistakes' and doesn't see me following her in them."
"Yeah, your father didn't like being overshadowed by your mom's business," Serena agreed. "I remember that from when I was little. He was so jealous."
"How do you remember that?" Molly asked.
Serena got tears in her eyes, "It made me scared at the time when I figured it out. I thought, to stay married, I had to be weaker than my husband."
Amy shook her head, "How could you think that and be your mother's daughter? She's incredibly strong and smart."
Serena shrugged, "I thought my father was unique. Face it. Not many men are like him."
"Well, he's the only one of our fathers, but we found men like him," Raye said.
"Rita's father is like him too," Molly added. "He loves how strong and smart his wife is."
"Strong men aren't afraid of strong women. That's the trick," Rita stated. "My brother learned that well from my father, and the idiot didn't realize I learned that too. I wouldn't date Andrew if he expected me to be less than what I am."
"And cats!" Serena stated loudly.
"What?" Rita asked.
"Well, Luna is a good stepping stone into the weird in our lives. Andrew wanted you in on this, and…" she looked at Luna. "Care to explain?"
Luna shot her an unimpressed look and shook her head. "This falls to me?"
Rita gasped, "What the hell?!"
"The cat talks," Amy said. "To be fair, it just gets weirder. What do you think about the Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Mask?"
"Th-the cat t-talks. What?!"
Serena took Rita's hand and smiled at her gently, "Sailor Scouts. What do you know about them?"
Rita looked her in the eyes, "They're incredible. They saved so many people."
"I'm Sailor Moon," she then looked at the others and introduced each one of them. Next, she said, "Darien is Tuxedo Mask."
Rita's mouth dropped open, "Really?!"
What followed was a demonstration and a full explanation of who and what they were and what they endured. They even explained who the generals were and had been.
Raye said, "Rick went to that fundraiser to protect me from what my father is turning into. He was a huge help. Jadeite and my grandfather are so grateful to him."
Rita smiled and said, "He's a good man that pretended to be an ass until Molly came along. I'm glad he's been good to you all. Darien really made him part of his council?"
"He did. He's been the first one he's reached out to for help with medical things. Rick has even added first responder classes in the evening."
"We knew that, but he hadn't said why. We just figured he wanted to get a jump on things for med school."
"He's trying to protect us," Serena said.
"Wow. It's crazy to think you all have that background. It's so sad."
Molly nodded, "But wait and watch how they all are together. They will all have a happy ending."
Mina laughed out loud, "So will you. I want you to come to the shrine with Rick soon. I found a way to check for soulmates, and I'll need Raye's help. I have a strong feeling about the two of you."
Rita smirked, "What if you two have an incredible past together? Maybe you're Tristen and Isolde?"
"Depending on the version you read, he left her," Amy commented.
"Fine, but you know what I mean. You can be lovers from the past."
Molly smiled, "While that would be cool, I don't need it to tell me I love him unconditionally."
"Thank goodness! My parents adore you and would be heartbroken if you left him."
Luna smiled at the group. She'd stayed quiet that night, but she hadn't needed to say much. Serena had a group of women around her that could laugh and still look to the future and take it seriously. She was pleased with her princess and her entourage.
