As Regina slept, Snow took the opportunity to talk to her daughter, "I'm glad that you were raised with love."
Emma looked at Snow, "yeah, she did pretty good. She's helped with Henry too. Although, he's been angry with her since he found the book."
"I really did think they were just stories."
"I know," Emma said, "your heart was in the right place."
"I know that you already have a mother, but I'd love to be a part of your life in some way."
"I think we can arrange that," Emma smiled and noticed her mother whimpering. "Mom," she nudged the woman, "Mom!"
Regina startled awake, "what?" she asked still groggy.
"You were having a bad dream."
Regina tried to roll over, but winced, "I could really use a heating pad right about now."
Emma was quiet and Snow noticed that something had changed in the woman. "Regina, is there another way that we can possibly help you with your pain?"
"I don't know."
Emma looked at Snow, "I'm gonna take a walk and see if I can find anything." The sheriff hurried away before being questioned.
"Snow, I need you to do me a favor."
"What?"
"Get Emma back to Storybrooke. I can't go back and she won't go without me. Make her think an ogre got me or something."
"I can't break her heart like that."
"I can already tell that I won't be able to move tomorrow. She needs to get back to Henry. You both do."
Emma returned with some stones, "let's try the Enchanted Forest version of a hot stone massage."
"You're gonna end up lighting me on fire."
"Well, do you have any better ideas?"
"You can only do this if you're not mad at me."
"I don't think I'm mad at you. Let's find out," she joked.
Regina chuckled, "no, let's not find out."
The next morning, Regina could hardly move. In a way, she was relieved because it would be easier to get her daughter home and away from her.
"Emma, I can't move. I need to rest," Regina said weakly.
"We'll just start moving again tomorrow."
"I'll be right here. You and Snow go find a way home. Come back for me then."
Emma was hesitant, but hugged her mother, "I love you."
"I love you too."
Snow knelt next to the woman, "I'll get her home," she whispered.
"Take care of her," Regina whispered back.
"I will."
Emma and Snow fought Cora until they had a chance to jump through the portal. Snow quickly grabbed her daughter before she could realize they were leaving Regina behind.
"Where's Regina?" David asked.
Emma suddenly realized what they had done, "no," she whispered, "we have to find a way back."
"Emma, there's no way back," Snow said.
"I can't leave her there. She can't take care of herself and is all alone."
"Regina told me to get you home with or without her. She wanted you to leave her behind and you know that. Cora will find her."
"That's not any better."
"Cora will help Regina and maybe even use her to get here."
"Can Henry and I stay with you in the meantime?"
"Of course you can."
"I haven't been trying to dismiss you. I know that I've known you, but I haven't known you."
"It's okay," Snow said. "I'm not mad at you. I mad at Regina for making me leave her there and breaking your heart."
Cora and Hook were walking through the woods when Cora suddenly stopped. She ran over to a tree, "Regina?"
The former mayor looked up, "mother?"
"What are you doing here? Did your daughter abandon you too?"
"I made Snow take her back. She's better off without me. Something you never realized."
"Since you're better off without me, then I'll leave you be." Cora walked away knowing her daughter couldn't get around right now. The Queen of Hearts stopped and turned around, "I'll make you a deal. I'll help you get around over here if you help me get to Storybrooke."
"I can't let you go to Storybrooke."
Cora walked over and reached her hand inside Regina's chest. She pulled out her daughter's heart, "now you can't stop me."
