Emma had gone to confront Regina about the article and how much it hurt Henry. "I don't understand. I thought we were getting along and making progress."
"Well, you tried to find something to ruin me so I did the same. It's not my fault it was easier to find dirt on you."
Regina left with Emma on her tail. When Regina opened the door to the exit, she and Emma were thrown back to the steps. A ladder fell onto Regina's leg and she hit her head on the ground. Emma saw the immense pain Regina was in and knew the woman wouldn't be able to make it up the steps. She was able to calm the flames by the exit a bit before returning to help Regina. The mayor groaned in pain and Emma helped her hop out the exit. Regina ended up hurting her back and getting a concussion in addition to injuring her ankle. Emma had gone with Regina to the hospital and then drove her home.
"I appreciate you staying the night. I know that couldn't have been an easy decision for you," Regina said.
"I told you I would help you if you needed anything. Just because you tried to ruin what Henry thinks of me...well, I'll help you anyway." Emma helped Regina out of the car and the woman felt pain radiate through her body. The blonde had the mayor place an arm around her shoulder and the two slowly made their way into the house. Regina sighed with relief once she was on the couch. "I can take you upstairs."
"Here is fine," Regina said, "I really don't want to deal with the stairs. At least not yet." The mayor released a pained moan when she tried to adjust herself on the couch.
"Your back?"
"Yes," Regina said softly.
"Don't be so stubborn. Just take your pain medication."
Regina thought for a moment. She really didn't want to take the pills, but the pain was becoming unbarable. "Will you help me upstairs first?"
"I said I would."
Regina cried out in pain as Emma helped her to her feet. It took a while, but they two managed to make it to Regina's room. It was decided that Emma would stay in Regina's room so she was right there if the brunette needed help. Emma gave Regina her pain pills, helped her get ready for bed, and then got ready herself. She climbed in next to a sleeping Regina and hoped that one day, the woman would stop fighting her.
