Melvin sat in the House of Fortune, staring at the beautiful fortune teller. Her green-backed cards were shuffled and laid out face down on the table in a circular pattern. He had gone because the woman he thought was boring years ago had appeared in his life again, and she was stunning now. She had a boyfriend, but that only drew him to have his fortune read. He wanted to know if Molly was his future.
The dark-haired woman then placed one more card face down in the center of the circle. She then clasped her hands together, breathed out, and the outer ring of cards stood on-end facing her.
"Amazing," he breathed out in awe.
When the outer ring of cards all laid face up on their own, she quietly commanded, "Look me in the eyes."
Her gaze transfixed him. He easily locked eyes with her and felt a stirring in his chest. She was beautiful. The center card then began to hover and emit a faint purple light. That didn't distract Melvin from staring into her eyes. As she said, "You are a charming servant of the Negaverse. You may do whatever you desire."
In a trance, he said back, "I can do whatever I desire." Unnoticed by him, the glowing card slipped into his pocket—lodging there by his heart and tainting him.
Later that evening, Elis stood before Balm. "Have you done your duty to me?"
She bowed low to him, "Yes, my King. I have the power of the Dark Kingdom growing inside of over a hundred people already."
He smiled at her, "You please me, Balm."
She looked up at him coyly. "Is there anything else I could do for you?" She knew he rejected her last time, but she couldn't help herself."
Elis stared at her and considered her offer. He had Beryl waiting at D Point for him to "report" to her. More than anything, his annoyance at her got him to grab Balm by the wrist and pull her to him sharply. "Anything?"
"Anything," she whispered.
He snapped his fingers, he loved his new powers, and she was chained up. He grabbed her arm chains and pulled her down, snapped his fingers, and they were both naked. He then thrust a finger inside of her pussy. "Good, you're already wet for me."
He spent the night dominating her and finding his pleasure.
Beryl fumed. She knew he was fucking that youma woman that she provided him with. How dare he try to replace her! When he arrived back at D Point, she was incensed. He didn't even try to hide what he'd been doing.
He took one long look at her in all her rage and smiled, "Try to dominate me again, and you'll discover just how replaceable you are."
He wasn't expecting her to reach out with her energy and bring him to his knees. He dropped and scowled at her. He was stuck there before her looking up at her, and she smiled. "You were king. Now you're my servant. Learn your place."
He exerted his own powers and managed to stand. He then smirked at her. "I know my place. Let's see which one of us wins this battle. I don't like your chances. After all, you're the bastard daughter of a minor noble. Power isn't in your blood."
"I've learned to take what I want."
"And how has that gone for you?"
She struck out and slapped him. "Go back to Balm and let her fail to satisfy you fully. You'll come back begging for me."
He sneered at her, "I like power more than I like the perfect lay." He then disappeared to take out his anger and frustration on Balm. She was more than willing to let him use her to satisfy himself.
"How can you even tell?" Rick asked.
Andrew shrugged, "He's acting like a complete jerk. It's just a feeling."
"He cheated on Molly. He is a jerk."
Just then, Molly came in, and all talk of Melvin stopped. She sat down on the stool next to Rick and said, "So many people I know are acting so strangely today. I don't know what to make of it all."
"It's the full moon tonight. That always seems to affect people," Rick replied. "The doctors I know swear they get the strangest cases on the full moon."
She smiled up at him and held up her left hand. "Well, I, for one, have had a wonderful day. Just looking at my ring makes me smile every time."
He leaned in and kissed her on her lips and caressed her cheek, "I like seeing my ring on your finger, that's for sure. I'm a lucky man." He then laced their fingers together and smiled at her.
They both studied in silence for a while, sneaking silent touches and smiles at each other as they sat at the counter.
Andrew stiffened when the doors to the arcade opened. Melvin had walked in looking as if he was ready for some trouble. Rick gave him a questioning look and then followed his gaze.
"Hey Molly!" he yelled out. "We have a date Friday night at six, be wearing something sexy that shows off your perky breasts."
Rick saw red. He jumped up to attack Melvin, but Molly was just as fast and stood facing Rick, stopping him. "He's just being a jerk. Ignore him. I am."
As Rick made to reply, Melvin walked over and flipped her skirt, "Nice panties."
Molly spun around with all the fury in her and punched him in the face, knocking him out and into a table and chairs that clattered loudly to the ground with him.
"That was hot," Rick announced, pulling Molly to him. "Now, can I attack him?"
"What's the point? I already took care of it," she bragged.
"What a bitch!" they heard someone yell from one of the games.
Molly looked at him and glared, "Yuji! Shut up, or you're next!"
Rick gripped his hand in a tight fist. "I got this one."
Before he was able to do anything Yuji moved out of the arcade and seemed to meet up with a whole group of other people on the sidewalk outside. Then they could hear the shattering of glass from multiple storefronts including the Crown Arcade.
Rick pulled Molly into his protective embrace so she wouldn't be hit by a flying rock or glass. "What in the world is going on!?"
They heard Melvin groan and try to stand up. He stumbled, catching himself on a fallen chair, and a card slid out of his jacket, flittering to the floor. He tried again and managed to stand and make his way out of the arcade receiving a cut on his cheek from some flying glass on the way.
When the gang of people outside moved on to create mayhem elsewhere, Molly slipped over, careful of debris, and picked up the card. She held it up to Rick, "With all that we know, this can't be an accident." It was a fortune teller card with the devil prominently displayed.
"Crap. No, Elis is…" He looked around for others, but they had all fled by now. "Elis has started his attacks. Any idea where that came from?"
"No, but I bet Amy and Zoisite can figure that out."
He took her hand in his and said, "I don't suppose you'll let me lock you away in our apartment to keep you safe while they try to figure this out."
"Not a chance, my love."
He sighed, having known what her response would be, and walked with her to Amy's, knowing they'd find Zoisite there too.
"Ah, the rebellious energy of the young," Elis said in amusement as he stood high up watching over the city and the chaos that Balm had caused.
