Blueeyeddevil06, thank you for being my beta!

Jadeite knew he should be talking to Darien first before going off to D Point, but it was in the middle of the night, and everyone was sleeping. Raye had cried herself to sleep in his arms. Her sobs had torn at his heart. She struggled with who her father was versus her role as a daughter. She was loyal, and to her, that meant she needed to find an excellent facility to house and care for her father. It was taking an emotional toll on her, though, that, as he was, he wasn't ever going to learn to be a better father.

He had just spent thirty minutes talking to Grandfather. His heart was breaking for her too. Neither of them knew how to erase her emotional burden without trying to change who she was. They both sat down and came up with a list of tasks they could each do to lighten her burden in caring for her father.

Top on his list was collecting Takashi's belongings from D Point. Grandfather tasked himself with going through his son's house.

Both men already deeply respected each other, but it was that thirty-minute talk that truly bonded them and formed the firm foundation of their relationship. They were united in the desire to protect the woman they both loved completely.

Jadeite slipped through the shrine grounds and made his way to the park. Once he was there, he took a deep breath and shuddered. He wasn't looking forward to his task. Then he was transported to D Point.

Once he was there, he scouted the rooms figuring his room would be near Beryl's. They weren't getting along at the end, so he figured they weren't sharing one. It took him three tries, but he located the room and slipped in. He tossed the tote bag he had brought on the bed and started searching the room for personal items Raye would care to have. The clothes and toiletries could rot for all he cared.

He loaded his watches and rings into the bag and smiled when he saw a laptop. He hoped Amy and Zoisite could go through it and discover something interesting. After that, there wasn't much. No photos or meaningful personal items. He did see an expensive pair of shoes that were his size, so he packed those too. Then as he was combing through everything, he found a large stash of cash that he packed away for Raye and Grandfather. Hopefully, they could make use of it.

When he was finished scouring the room for anything they would want, he stood and zipped the tote bag closed. He then considered his next move. He searched his mind for anything that he could think of that they might need from D Point. He then heard Darien in his head warning him not to do anything stupid. As much as he wanted to help, he knew if he investigated further, he would be pushing the boundaries of what he was doing for Raye versus endangering himself for the mission.

He walked into the hall and then disappeared, arriving back at the park.

Once he was there, he made his way to the shrine and back to Raye's bed. He didn't want her to wake up without him there to comfort her. He would distribute the contents of the duffel bag at a more appropriate time.

Darien stood in Amy and Zoisite's place, looking at Takashi's computer with them. "Can you decrypt it?"

"It's not if. It's when," Amy answered. "It's complicated, but we can get it done."

Zoisite smiled and asked, "How much trouble is Jadeite in for running off to D Point? I know you told him not to before."

Darien shrugged, "You mean how mad am I at him that he did something crazy to protect the woman he loves?"

"Point taken. You almost died for her again. Lucky this time, she had the Silver Crystal."

Darien sighed, "She wasn't too happy with me after that."

Everyone but Amy and Zoisite tried to go on like everything was normal for the next four days. No one asked how the description was going. They all knew that Amy and Zoisite were working incredibly hard, and they'd know as soon as it was done.

Darien attended study groups, trying not to wonder what Metalia's next move was and if there would be a surprise attack.

Serena was all that was holding him back from being immersed in worry. He knew she took it on as her personal mission to help him through this time.

He knew he didn't even have to explain to her that uncertainty was something that gave him a visceral gut reaction from his time at the orphanage. He had worked very hard to have an orderly life to make up for and avoid what he went through in the past.

He was sitting in his study group in the library trying not to think about the Negaverse when he received a text alert indicating it was Serena. When he read it, he almost swallowed his tongue. It took all his practice of hiding his emotions not to make it painfully obvious what he was reading. Apparently, she was home, naked in bed, touching herself, thinking of him and his face between her thighs. Now he was thinking about that too.

While showing his emotions wasn't something he was good at, texting had proven a revelation to him. He had time to think of a response, and he was good with the written word.

He held his phone and considered how he'd reply. He typed, "Remember to picture my hands on your big breasts. I love playing with them while I'm eating you out." He was pleased with his response.

"Darien," one of his group mates said, getting his attention. "I'm stuck on how to remember them in order."

He then patiently went through the process of how he remembered them. Right before he was finished, he heard a ding. He looked, and she replied, "Thanks, I knew I forgot something. That got me to orgasm."

He groaned and got back to work. He promised himself he'd get her to orgasm himself later that night. He wasn't thinking of the Negaverse anymore.

Raye sat with a nice woman who was explaining what care their facility would be providing her father. Sitting there with her were Grandfather and Jadeite. They each flanked her. Neither man had left her side through this whole thing and had each taken on tasks to make it all easier.

As she found a facility for her father, she was also finding peace. She didn't know why it was now, at such a hard time, or if maybe that forced the issues, but she realized how much she was loved. While her father had a daughter who felt honor-bound to make sure he was taken care of, she had two men and five friends who loved her and chose to be with her through the difficult times.

For the first time in her life, she pitied her father. He chased achievement and political power, and now he was left with nothing. He didn't have anyone who loved him to come and visit. He was truly alone, and it was all his own doing.

The woman, Alice, told her about their policy for visitors. She watched Jadeite's jaw clench. She knew he didn't want her to be made to feel guilty about not wanting to see him.

In a bizarre need to allay his worries for her feelings, she opened up to the woman. "I won't be visiting. In finding a place for him that will care for him as well as you will here, I've done more for him than he's ever done for me. When my mother died in the hospital of cancer, he was off having sex with his mistress. Grandfather held me while I cried and made the funeral arrangements for his daughter-in-law. He only talked to me when he needed something from me. He even tried to get me to let a man touch my body for donations to his campaign."

She looked over at her grandfather, "His own father has tried to shield me from taking on too much in caring for him. I have a lot of love in my life, but none of it was from him. Your facility is exceptional, and getting him in here is me trying to be the best daughter I can be to a man that never loved me a day in his life."

Alice blanched, "Oh, good! Then I can admit I never voted for that man. I thought he came off as a total jerk."

Jadeite laughed and smacked his hand to his knee. "Oh, I like you!"
