"This is my daughter's house. What are you doing here?" Cora asked angrily.

Snow's face dropped, "you should sit down."

"Why?"

"What I'm about to tell you is difficult."

"I'm fine standing."

"Fine," Snow said irritated, "Gold cast a curse on the portal to kill you in the event that you were the one who made it through. Henry begged Regina to stop the curse so it wouldn't kill me and Emma. She did and now she's dying."

"I don't believe you."

"Follow me," Snow said and led Cora up the stairs and to Regina's room. She cracked the door and had Cora look inside.

Regina was slightly propped up in bed hooked up to oxygen, and Emma sat facing her on the bed. "I wish...this would...just kill...me already."

"I'm telling you that we'll find a cure."

"Your family...is so damn...optimistic. It's...annoying," Regina said.

Cora backed away from the door and was leaning against the wall. Snow closed the door and turned towards the other woman. "Do you have any idea how to cure her?" Snow asked.

"I put my things in her vault. I have to get something so I'll check the books there."

Emma walked out and jumped, "what the hell?"

"Relax," Snow said, "she's going to help."

"You stay with Regina and I'll go with Cora."

"Okay," Snow said and entered the room.

Cora teleported her and Emma to the vault. The sorceress took out a box and pulled out a glowing, beating, heart. She quickly placed it in her chest, "now, let's find a way to save my daughter. My agenda here has just changed."

The two women looked through spellbooks for an hour. Emma got up and began pacing, "I don't understand. There's a spell for everything."

"I would guess that light magic is the key."

"The Blue Fairy is working on this."

"That can't make her heart feel good."

"My parents convinced her. If they hadn't then I would have gone down there and not left until she agreed to help."

"My daughter and I have been terrible to your family and yet you're all willing to help save her life."

"She's more Henry's mother than I am. Regina is a part of this family and is trying to be a better person for our son." Emma's phone rang, "mom, what's wrong?" the sheriff listened and hung up, "we need to take the rest with us. The curse spread to Regina's heart."

Cora teleported them to the house along with the books. David was there with Henry, "her chest is hurting and the pain isn't going away. Even taking her heart out didn't work."

"If something is hurting it then you can feel it whether it's inside of you or not," Cora said.

"Did you find anything?"

"No, but Cora put her heart back in," Emma answered.

"You didn't have your heart?"

"Not since before I married Regina's father."

"Well, that explains a lot."

"Emma!" Snow yelled and the sheriff ran out of the living room and up the stairs. She rushed into Regina's room with Cora, David, and Henry waiting in the hall, watching.

Regina looked terrible, "what's wrong?" Emma asked.

The mayor had shut her eyes tightly and was trying to catch her breath, "kill me," she whispered.

"She said the pain is unbearable and that she just wants to die," Snow cried.

"No," Emma sat on the bed and took Regina's hand, "I told you that I'm going to save you and I meant it." Emma could tell how much pain the woman was in, "honey, everything is going to be alright."

Everyone was taken aback by the term of endearment and looked at one another in surprise. Cora waved her hand and Regina was unconscious, "that should help her."

"A sleeping curse? Is that safe?" Snow asked.

"Yes, and it will keep her from feeling any pain." Cora waved her hands over her daughter, "I placed a preservation spell on her to try and keep this from getting worse."

"Say we find a cure," Emma said, "she needs true love's kiss to wake up and he's dead."

"Her true love isn't dead," Cora said.

"Daniel's alive?" Snow asked in shock.

"No, but he's not her true love."

"How do you know?"

"A mother knows."
