Disclaimer: I do not own HP. Everything in bold is from the books and does not belong to me. Well, except for this.
The next morning a breakfast, Umbridge stood up.
"Hem Hem. I have a very important announcement to make."
Many people groaned. What other torture rule was she going to announce?
"Classes will be cancelled"
There was cheering from most people. The only exceptions were Hermione and many Ravenclaws. The Slytherins did not cheer but, you could tell they were just as delighted to hear the news.
"For the day and will continue until the ministry and I see fit. Classes are cancelled because we have received a very important package from the future."
Many people were surprised. It wasn't possible to send items from the future.
"I hope that we can prevent deaths and expose lies with it. The package is a set of books on the life of Harry Potter. There was a letter that came with it. Let me read it out.
To whoever finds this note,
We are from the future and have sent 7 books about the life of Harry Potter. 4 are about the past, 1 is about the present and 2 are about the future.
By reading these books, we hope you will prevent many deaths as well as prove whether Harry Potter is lying.
These books are entirely truthful, and you may prove that by saying the spell probandum veritatem.
We wish for you to read these books in the great hall along with some guests. The guests are:
Cornelius Fudge
The Weasleys including Percival, Charles and William.
Amelia Bones and some aurors
Kingsley Shacklebolt
Nymphadora Tonks
Alastor Moody
Remus Lupin and his dog Snuffles
Time will stop outside the castle when the reading begins so no time will have passed after the reading.
We also wish to inform you that anyone present during the reading will not be able to tell anything to anyone not present at the meeting without Harry Potter's permission due to a spell placed on the books.
As they concern Harry Potter's private life, the books cannot be read without his permission.
If Harry Potter grants permission, then the books are to be read in this order:
Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Best regards,
HP, HG and RW."
Many people turned to Harry for permission.
'Everyone will know about the Dursleys, but they will also find out that Voldemort is back. Maybe the books tell us how to defeat Voldemort. That'll be nice. And it says it will prevent deaths. I wonder who else died in the future. I hope it was not Ron or Hermione.'
Finishing his thought, Harry said, "I will give permission to read but I have a rule."
'Arrogant brat. Insisting on rules. Probably that everyone gives him a gift to witness the readings. I do wonder how he found out about my nickname.'
"The rule is that no one is punished for things in the books, unless they are doing it for evil."
"That sounds reasonable Mr. Potter. We agree." Dumbledore said to Harry.
"Now Delores, where are the guests the letter asked to have present." Dumbledore asked Umbridge.
"I informed them of the situation, and they should be here once I tell them Potter has given permission. I wasn't sure he would."
That was a lie. She knew he would. She wouldn't let this opportunity go away.
Casting a cat Patronus, she sent it to Fudge and the others.
"They should be here in a minute."
Just then, the door opened, and everyone came in.
Molly rushed and hugged her sons and daughters. After that, she hugged Harry and Hermione.
Remus came and hugged Harry as well. Snuffles just licked Harry, who said "Eww.".
Tonks greeted them and took her place near them.
Fudge took his spot in a chair near Umbridge.
Moody shouted Constance vigilance to anyone who came near.
"Let's begin then." Umbridge said.
Flitwick cast a spell to have the book read out loud.
"It'll stop when there are interruptions, so no one misses anything. It'll say everything in the voice of the person who spoke."
"Even parseltounge?" Hermione asked.
"It should." Flitwick replied.
"Start the spell, Professor Flitwick." Umbridge said, impatient already.
Chapter one: The-Boy-Who-Lived
(Mr. and Mrs. Dursley … very much.)
"That's boring." The twins said at once.
(They were the … made drills.)
"Muggles use it to make holes." Many muggleborns were heard telling their friends.
(He was a … large mustache.)
"Sounds charming." Many people muttered.
(Mrs. Dursley was thin … on the neighbors.)
'Sounds like 'Tuney.' Snape thought.
(The Dursleys … called Dudley)
"Dudley is not small." Harry said.
(And in their … about the Potters.)
"Why? They were perfectly fine?" Remus said to no one in particular.
(Mrs. Potter … Mrs. Dursley's sister)
'It is 'Tuney.' Snape thought.
(But they hadn't … good-for-nothing husband)
"James wasn't good-for-nothing." Remus yelled.
Snuffles just growled loudly. Many people had angry expressions on their faces. The Potter's were war heroes.
(Were … unDursleyish)
"Not a real word." Hermione said.
(As it was … child like that.)
"A child like what?" Many people asked.
"A wizard." Harry replied.
(When Mr. and Mrs. … most boring tie)
The twins gasped.
"Oh no! he picked his most boring tie for work. We're dying." Fred said.
"Shut up you two." Ginny said.
(For work, … past the window.)
"Who doesn't notice that?" Neville asked.
"Them." Ron said.
(At half past … left the house.)
"HE ENCOURAGES THAT!?" Molly yelled.
Many people winced at that.
(He got … his car)
"What's that?" someone asked.
"Muggles use it to travel from one place to another. Like a carriage." Hermione explained.
(And backed … of Privet Drive,)
"Minnie!" George yelled.
McGonagall gasped as she realized what day it was talking about.
(But there … maps or signs.)
"Cats can't but Minnie can." Remus said.
(Mr. Dursley gave … People in cloaks.)
"Cloaks aren't strange." Padma said.
"Muggle don't wear cloaks." Some muggleborn said.
(Mr. Dursley couldn't … even at nighttime.)
"Why?" Some Hufflepuff asked.
"Muggles don't use owls to send letters. Other muggles deliver them." Hermione explained.
(Mr. Dursley, however, … important telephone)
"Muggles use t to talk to each other." A Ravenclaw Muggleborn explained before someone asked what it was.
(Calls and … bit more.)
"Sounds like a wonderful person." Daphne Greengrass form Slytherin said sarcastically.
(He was in … across the road)
"The world is ending." Harry shouted. "He willingly walked."
Many people chuckled.
(To buy … the bakery.)
"Never mind." Harry told everyone.
(He'd forgotten … an unusual name.)
"It is." Theodore Nott from Slytherin called out.
"Potter is a common name among muggles." A muggleborn told him.
(He was … called Harry.)
"HE DOESN'T KNOW YOUR NAME!" Molly shrieked.
(He'd never … Or Harold.)
"Nobody likes Harvey Potter." Fed started.
"Or Harold Potter." George finished.
(There was … happy, happy day!")
Many people frowned when they realized what day it was.
(And the … walked off.)
"That sounds impossible." Ron said.
"It is." Harry said.
(Mr. Dursley stood … that was.)
"It's someone like you!" Malfoy called out.
(He was … of imagination.)
"Hear that brother of mine?" Fred said. "He doesn't approve of imagination."
"We're dying." George said.
(As he pulled … Mr. Dursley loudly.)
"Won't work." Remus yelled.
(The cat … stern look.)
"She's mad." Ginny said.
(Was this ... Mr. Dursley wondered.)
"No, it's most definitely not normal cat behavior. It is normal Minnie behavior, though." Fred, or George said.
(Trying to … new word ("Won't!").)
"Wonderful." Many people muttered.
(Mr. Dursley tried . . . her crowd. ")
"Her crowd" McGonagall said angrily.
(Mrs. Dursley sipped … you ask me. ")
"Yeah, well nobody asked you." Ron said at the same time as Ginny who said
"It is a wonderful name." Before blushing.
"I agree." Molly said.
("Oh, yes," said … wrong he was.)
"I wish for once he was right." Harry said.
(Mr. Dursley might … eyes narrowed.)
"Better watch out, she's really mad." Bill said.
(Nothing like this … was unwelcome.)
Dumbledore chuckled.
"I knew, I just didn't care."
(He was busy … the Put-Outer,)
"The proper name is deluminator." Dumbledore said.
(Until the only … Professor McGonagall. ")
"Knew it!" George yelled.
(He turned to … said Professor McGonagall.)
"How?! Tell us your secret." Fred asked.
"Patience." Was the reply he got.
("All day? … for eleven years. ")
"The war was THAT long?" Harry asked.
"Unfortunately, yes." Dumbledore said.
("I know that" … lemon drop?")
"A What?" Many purebloods asked.
"A muggle sweet." Someone said.
("A what?" … for lemon drops.)
"It wasn't." She said just as coldly.
("As I say, ... proper name: Voldemort. ")
There was a collective flinch around the great hall.
(Professor McGonagall … saying Voldemort's)
There was another collective flinch around the great hall.
(Name. "
"I … all right, Voldemort,)
Flinch.
(Was frightened of. " … will never have. ")
"Only because you don't use them." Hermione said.
("Only because … to use them. ")
"Hermione thinks like Minnie." The twins said.
("It's lucky it's … they're - dead. ")
Snuffles let out a sad whimper. Remus and many others had sad looks in their eyes. Hermione and Ron were comforting Harry.
(Dumbledore bowed … may never know. ")
"But you did know." Harry said to Dumbledore.
"It was a theory." Dumbledore told him.
(Professor McGonagall … the edge.)
"That's not odd." Percy said, for the first time since coming in the great hall.
"For muggles it is." Hermione said.
(It must have … live here!")
"Thanks for trying, Professor." Harry said while giving sad smile towards her.
("It's the … a letter. ")
"A LETTER!?" Molly screeched.
Everyone had to cover their ears especially poor Remus.
("A letter?" … in the future)
"There isn't, right?" Harry asked.
"No, there isn't a Harry Potter Day." Flitwick said.
"Thank goodness." Harry said.
What? Happy because there isn't a day about him? Impossible. He's an arrogant brat. It must be an act.' Snape thought.
(- there will … about Harry)
"What?" Harry asked.
"Yes, I told you when we met." Hermione said.
"That was so long ago." Harry told her. "I forgot."
"It was 5 years ago." Hermione said exasperated.
"Too long." Harry said.
"There's also the children's books." Ron told him. "Ginny loved them."
Ginny just blushed, but Harry repeated his first statement, sounding more confused than before.
"Yeah. Didn't you know." Ron asked.
When he got a negative response from his black-haired friend, he said,
"There's the one where you ride a dragon when you're 5 or the one where you battle a manticore when you're 8."
"I never did those." Harry said, still very confused.
"Merrian Thistle, the author, must have written fake stories about you. You should sue her after the readings." Remus told the very confused boy.
"Let's continue." Umbridge said, not caring about silly fake books about Potter.
(- every child … his name!")
"Wish they didn't." Harry muttered.
Snape, who had heard him wondered why in the world Potter would wish that, seeing as he was as arrogant as his father.
("Exactly. " Said Dumbledore, … important as this?")
"We would trust Hagrid with our lives." The golden trio said at once.
"Though, not with a secret." Harry added "Uh, no offence Hagrid."
" 's okay" Hagrid said waving it away. He knew that couldn't keep a secret anyway.
("I would trust … he's not careless.)
"Sorry Hagrid." McGonagall said.
" 's okay." He said once more.
(He does tend … got him, sir. ")
Snuffles growled seeing as he never got it back.
("No problems … about it, Dumbledore?")
"Please do." Harry said.
"I'm afraid I can't." Dumbledore said.
Snape wondered why he would want that blasted scar removed. It showed that he was famous. Shouldn't he like it?
("Even if … a wounded dog.)
Snuffles looked offended, or at least as offended as a dog can look.
("Shhh!" hissed Professor … Professor Dumbledore, sir. ")
Snuffles growled again.
(Wiping his streaming … his cousin Dudley. . .)
"WHAT?!" Molly and McGonagall screamed at the same time.
Everyone had to cover their ears, even Dumbledore.
(He couldn't know … boy who lived!")
"Well, that was interesting." Dumbledore said after some time.
"You left an one-year-old child, on a doorstep, in November, when there were Death Eaters roaming around, when the child was Harry Potter." Molly all but screamed.
"I had put warming charms and protective spells." Dumbledore said calmly.
"It still does not excuse the fact-"
Dumbledore would never find out the fact it does not excuse because Arthur pulled Molly down and started calming her down.
"What's the next chapter?" Professor Sprout asked.
"Let's find out." Dumbledore said
AN: Not sure I got Hagrid's accent right. If anyone know his accent, please do tell.
