Five Years Earlier
Regina was nervous to talk to her wife. Emma had never been a big fan of Cora. She walked into the sheriff's station to find Emma, Snow, and David. "Hey, Regina," David said.
Emma turned and smiled, "hey, hun," she gave her wife a kiss and when she pulled away could see how nervous the woman was, "what's wrong?"
"Um, we'll just head out to lunch and leave you two to talk," Snow said.
Once David and Snow were gone, Regina and Emma sat down. "I don't know how to tell you this so I'm just going to say it. My mother is coming."
"When?"
"Today," Regina answered.
"I can stay with my parents if you want."
"No, that's not why I told you."
"Your mom doesn't really like me."
"I know," Regina sighed and her hands began shaking.
"Whoa, hey, Regina," Emma took the woman's hands in hers, "honey, calm down."
"I can't handle this," the mayor's voice shook.
"Let's get you home." With a wave of her hand, Emma transported them to their room.
"Do you think your mother would stay with me?"
"Of course she would. Do you need someone to stay? Because I can stay."
"No, you need to work."
"Can you walk?"
"No," Regina answered.
"I'll tell my mother," Emma got on the phone with Snow and brought out a wheelchair. It had been almost a year since Regina's last episode. It looked as if this one was going to last for a while.
Cora arrived at Regina and Emma's after lunch. Snow answered the door.
"Cora, Emma asked that you meet her at the station before you saw Regina."
"Is everything alright?"
"Emma will explain everything."
Cora left and went to the sheriff's station, "Emma, your mother said you wanted to talk."
"Yeah, have a seat." Emma waited until Cora sat in the chair at the next desk, "Regina is at the beginning of an episode right now."
"Did it start after I told her I was visiting?"
"Yes and I think it's best if we make more of an effort to get along. She's really stressed out about this."
"I promise to do my best."
"Great, I'll see you at home."
Cora left in a cloud of smoke.
Cora wasn't alone. She had split her heart in half and gave one of the halves to her late husband. Regina was beside herself, but it was the best surprise. Henry Sr. and Emma got along right away. It sort of made Cora want to try and improve her relationship with her daughter-in-law.
"We have some news," Regina said, "I'm pregnant."
Cora and Henry Sr. were ecstatic. Regina had never seen her parents in love. Then again, Cora didn't have her heart since she broke up with Rumple. Seven months later, Odette Margaret Mills was born. Seven months after Odette's birth, Emma gave birth to Faline Regina Mills. They spent five years in absolute bliss with their girls and Henry. Everything was about to change.
