It had been a week since Regina had left. Everyone was searching all of Storybrooke for a portal. No one was having any luck. "Leopold, do you think we should speak to Regina to try and put her at ease?"
"I don't know. I realize that I never really truly knew her. She was so shy then and I can't blame her. We don't even know where she went."
The two suddenly heard crying, "what's that?"
"It's over here," Leopold led Eva to a tree. They looked inside a hollowed-out part to find a baby. On the blanket was a note that said 'Emma Swan.'
"This is him," Eva said, "their son. We have to get him back."
Leopold carried the baby while Eva contacted the others using the phone her daughter had taught her to use. When they walked into the Mills home, Leopold walked up to Emma and handed the baby to her. "Thank you," she whispered through tears.
"What's his name?" Henry asked.
"Your mom had a name picked out in case Odette was a boy. His name is Remy Robert Mills."
"Where did you find him?" David asked.
"Inside a tree," Leopold answered.
"A tree?"
"Yes"
"The Enchanted Forest," Snow said softly.
"What?" Eva asked.
"That's where the portal took her. That's how we got Emma here. We placed her in a wardrobe that transported her to a tree here."
"The castle," Charming said. "She's at the castle."
"Now we just need enough beans to get there and back."
"No, your father and I will go," Eva said, "in a way this is our doing so we will fix this."
It was agreed that Snow's parents would go without the rest of the family to find Regina.
Two weeks after Regina left, Leopold and Eva had a few beans to take them to the Enchanted Forest. They took Ruby with them to help track Regina down in the event she ran. Leopold and Eva searched the castle but found no sign of Regina. They ventured out into the kingdom and had Ruby come to try and sniff her out. They came upon a ravine in the forest. There was the now broken, former, Evil Queen. Leopold slowly approached while Eva and Ruby stayed back. "I was afraid to love you," he said.
Regina looked up in shock, "Leopold," she turned to see Eva and Ruby, "what are you doing here?"
"We've come to take you home."
"I am home."
"Regina, your family is devastated," Eva said.
"They're your family."
"They're more your family than mine."
Leopold sat on the ground, "it's not that I didn't love you. It's that I was afraid to love you. I love Eva with all my heart and when I lost her, well, that was a kind of pain I never wished to experience again. I was afraid of feeling that pain again. I never gave you a chance. I'm sorry that I wasn't a good husband to you."
"They really miss me?"
"More than anything."
"Thank you, for your apology. I would love to go home, but I doubt Emma will ever forgive me."
"She may need time, but yes, she will," Ruby said.
"Come on, I'll help you up," Leopold said. He got Regina to her feet, but the woman was incredibly weak, "are you alright?"
"I'm not great at surviving out here. Plus, I haven't been able to stand or walk enough to find food for every meal."
Leopold lifted her and Ruby took out the bean. She threw it to the ground and jumped through with Eva followed by Leopold with Regina in his arms. The four crashed to the ground in the backyard of the Mills home. Leopold lifted Regina and carried her inside. He had everyone leave the couch so he could lay her down, "she may need a doctor."
"I'll be fine," Regina said weakly.
"Well, too bad," Emma said, "I'm calling the paramedics."
Regina used every bit of strength she had to sit up, stand, and walk to Emma. Others tried to stop her, but she kept going. "I'm so sorry, dear. I was wrong and I wish I could go back and make the right decision."
Emma wanted to be angry with Regina, but the woman was falling apart and Emma hated to see that. She took the crying woman in her arms, "it's okay. You thought you were making the right decision."
Emma was the only one who went to the hospital with Regina. She had everyone else stay home. Regina was malnourished and dehydrated. She stayed overnight to receive an IV. David picked the couple up and drove them home. "I was so tired that I never asked about the children. Did the baby make it here safely?"
"Yes, he did. They're all as good as can be expected. They'll be better once they see you."
"What did you name him?"
"Remy Robert Mills."
Regina smiled, "that was one of the most painful things I have ever done. That and leaving."
"I'm thrilled to have you back, but you have to understand that it will take time for me to get past all of this."
"I know, dear." Regina saw Emma smile, "what?"
"I missed hearing you call me that."
"I missed calling you that."
"It's so strange to have all of these people we thought were dead, come back."
"My parents, Snow's parents," Regina listed, "have David's come back?"
"No, but I have a feeling they will."
"Why?"
"Leopold did die, but Eva used the water from that lake to heal him. That lake had returned once my mother and I caught up to Cora and Hook. What if water had been found to save both Ruth and Robert?"
"That's possible, but Robert had been gone for a long time."
"I just can't shake the feeling that this is going to happen."
