A/N:Ok before we get into the next chapter I just want to say that for previous chapters, I will be going over some of them and fixing some things if there are any problems, which will also include future chapters as well so what you see may not be the final product, there might be small changes here and there but nothing too major of course, Also if there's anything you think I could or need to improve on, please tell me, I take criticism well and do listen to what people have to say so If you have something you want me to do/Improve on I'll listen,This is my first attempt at a fic after all so I'm not thaaat professional (lol), but with that being said, here's chapter 7, hope you enjoy.

Chapter 7-Laughing under the moonlight

And at this moment, the battle between the two demons commenced

Subaru: "I guess I'll take the lead, here I go!"

Alec: "please do"

Running at a high speed towards him Subaru jumped up in the air and sent a flurry of punches in his direction, surprising even him for a brief second, dogging most of them, one barely grazing his cheek. Finding an opening in the barrage of punches, the Oni man took his elbow and elbowed Subaru directly in the face sending him flying back a few feet hitting his small back against a tree.

Subaru: "Ahh!"

Screaming in pain and Landing on the floor Subaru coughed up a bit of blood and collapsed on the floor from the impact of his back hitting the tree. Looking back up at him Subaru saw that he had a grin on his face

Subaru: "What are you laughing at?"

Alec: "I'm sorry...you just look so cute when your struggling"

Subaru: "Why you…., fine try this on for size!"

Pointing his finger towards the man Subaru did what he had done earlier today, concentrating and channeling his mana, soon enough he saw a bright light emanating from his fingertip again and smiled to himself

Subaru: "Spirit gun!"

Alec: "Spirit gun?"

In an instant a bright flash of light fired at a high velocity towards the man, surprising even him. Seeing that Subaru just fired off a high-level magic attack with little to no difficulty he Shook his head back and forth to get out of his shock, composing himself once again he put his hand up and chanted a spell

Alec: "Huma!"

As soon as the bright light got closer to making contact in a second an ice shield was put up which blocked the light ray, making It dissipate in the air, Surprised to see his attack had failed, Subaru pouted and stomped his foot on the ground

Subaru: "What, that's not fair!"

Alec: "Did you think you were the only one who could use magic now?"

Subaru: "grrr, fine, then I'll just do it again!"

Getting in a stance and pointing his fingers again, Subaru aimed towards the Ice shield again and fired off a barrage of light rays towards the shield, which caused a massive aftershock of dust to form in the area. Thinking his attack finally did something Subaru wore a smug expression on his face until soon enough After the dust cleared, much to his dismay the shield was far too powerful and was able to block every and all of the beams of light he sent at it

Subaru: "dammit!"

Alec: "you give up?, only a few Oni in this village are strong enough to destroy my huma shield"

Getting frustrated Subaru thought of something and smirked to himself maliciously

Subaru: "Well if I can't break through your shield like this, then I'll just have to get stronger right?"

Concentrating and closing his eyes once more Subaru felt energy fill throughout his entire body and at that moment both white glowing horns protruded from the top of his forehead and gave him immense power that he felt coursing through his veins once again, This was only the third time he was using his horns as an Oni but yet he had already started to get used to this new sensation

Subaru: "And not only that but I'll also do this and surpass my body's limits!"

Concentrating and Opening his palms, Subaru saw the same light magic which he used to fire off from his fingertips, but instead of firing it off Subaru used it and coated his entire body in the light-absorbing it. Getting a thrill from absorbing so much power all at once Subaru clenched his fists to try to contain himself.

Alec: "Buffing your physical attributes as well as going into demon mode?"

Looking towards Subaru, he saw that he had a mischievous smile on his face and a murderous aura around him, noticing this, Alec got on guard as he felt Subaru's killer instincts.

Subaru: "Here I go!"

In the blink of an eye, Subaru ran towards him at a blinding speed and In an Instant extended his arm forward and launched his fist towards the shield. At that moment the Ice shield that was held up by him was shattered in a second, punching him straight in the face in the process

Alec: "Ah!"

As Subaru's punch connected with his cheek, he fell towards the ground, coughing up a bit of blood in the process as well. Getting closer Subaru jumped up on top of his body and extended his arm out ready to finish him with one last punch filled with his Yang magic, And at this moment Subaru felt an emotion which he had never felt before, he felt bloodlust, his entire body was filling with intent to kill

"Good, that's good, now finish him off!"

Subaru: "..."

"Don't let him live, finish him!"

Subaru: "What...what is this sensation?"

"Finish him!"

Subaru: "huh...what's happening"

"FINISH HIM!"

At that moment, Subaru started to feel something, like a voice inside his head, whispering to him, filling him with murderous intent, making him just want to kill and kill.

Subaru: "What is this? Get out of my head!"

Not knowing what to do, Subaru screamed as he put his hands on his head and tried to shake out whatever he was hearing which caused the horns on top of his head to disappear as well. Taking advantage of the confused Subaru, The Oni man pushed him off sending him flying back again, which caused Subaru to fall and roll on the ground, Walking over towards Subaru who was now collapsed on the ground, Alec looked at him with a smirk

Alec: "Well, looks like I win"

Subaru: "cheap shot"

Extending his hand out towards the collapsed Subaru, Alec brought his hand to help him up, accepting this Subaru got back up on his feet and dusted himself off

Alec: "Well that was fun, maybe we can do this some other time, to train so you may gain the trust of the chief"

Subaru: "That's fine, I don't care how many times it takes, gaining his trust brings me one step closer to finding a way back to Japan, So I'll do whatever it takes"

While It's true he didn't really like the idea of training, he barely even exercised in his old world, he had to find a way back to Japan, back home, It was his main goal after all and his main goal from now on, and he would overcome any obstacle in his way to achieve his newfound goal, getting lost in his train of thought, Subaru eventually was snapped back to reality by the Oni man standing right next him calling out his name

Alec: "By the way Subaru, you might want to get yourself changed, you kinda smell"

Subaru: "Huh?"

Looking down at himself, he just realized he was covered in dirt, and dried up mud, remembering back to when he first came to this place he recalled getting covered in a lot of dirt and mud trying to evade Alec and the other Oni man chasing him and realized it's almost been a day since he came to this world and hasn't taken a bath yet, So he must have smelled terrible he thought

Subaru: "Oh...your right, I should probably take a bath and get all this dirt off me"

Alec: "Sounds like a plan, I'll go grab you some fresh clothes, you go and take a bath, alright?"

Subaru: "Sounds good"

In their separate ways, Subaru decided he would go and wash off where the waterfall was, while Alec went to grab his new set of clothes. Unbinounced to them, In the far distance, they were being watched by someone….

Making his way towards the waterfall and Getting undressed Subaru went and jumped into the water, coming up for air, Subaru ran his hands through his hair and got to the point where his horns came out through the center of his forehead. Remembering what transpired a while ago Subaru tried to figure out what that sensation he was feeling was when he went into his demon mode, and what that voice he was hearing was.

Subaru: "What was that? That sensation I was feeling earlier in that fight, It Wasn't like the feeling I felt before when I went into Oni mode...It felt different...I've only been a so-called "Oni" for a day at most now so maybe It's just something every Oni experiences...Well it doesn't matter now I should probably finish up here and get changed"

Saying this Subaru went back to finish cleaning himself up trying to brush off what he had just felt and leave it off for another time. Getting finished Subaru got out of the water and dried himself off. As he was about to leave he remembered he didn't have any spare clothes to change into. Realizing this Subaru sighed to himself until he heard footsteps getting closer to him from a distance. It was Alec and he was back with a new set of clothes for Subaru. Looking at what was in his hands Subaru noticed the set of clothing in his hands weren't of low quality but looked of a high-quality noble status of robes

Subaru: "are these my new clothes?"

Alec: "Yes, do you like them?"

Looking at the clothes that were presented towards him, it was a red kimono, with a black belt around it as well with a Geta (footwear), surprised a bit to see that Japanese culture has seemed to reach this unknown world, Subaru wanted to ask where these clothes came from but decided to hold off his questioning for now

Subaru: "It looks amazing, thanks!"

Alec: "Yup, those are traditional Oni clothing straight from Kararagi, you'll blend into this village just finely with these clothes now"

Putting the kimono on, Subaru ran over to the water and checked himself out in the reflection of the lake, admiring himself for a bit, Subaru wore a smug expression and slicked back his hair with his hand

Subaru: "Heh, with these new clothes I can definitely catch the attention of girls now, maybe I could get a girlfriend too!"

Laughing at this, the Oni man put his hand on Subaru's head and ruffed up his hair a bit

Alec: "I think your issue is that your'e such a brat, rather than your clothing, maybe work on your attitude instead"

Subaru: "Uh, You sound just like my dad"

Alec: "Heh, I don't look that old now do I?...but anyways Subaru, looks like we're done training here for today. Why don't we go back home, and I'll make you something to eat? I assume you haven't really eaten anything since you got here, right?"

Subaru: "...Now that you've mentioned it, I haven't had anything since I got here, it's almost been a full day since I've been here and I hadn't eaten anything yet"

Alec: "Then that settles It, I think we're done for today, it's past midday anyways"

Subaru: "Alright!"

Making there way to the house, Subaru excitedly opened the door, rushed through the hallway, and collapsed on the bed from exhaustion, letting out a big sigh of relief

Subaru: "Uhh, I'm sooo tired, I missed you bed"

Alec: "Don't get too comfortable because each day is like this, remember you said you wouldn't complain right?"

Subaru" I know just let me enjoy this alright!" said Subaru rubbing his face back and forth into the pillows as he groaned from being completely exhausted

Alec: "Well don't go to sleep just yet I'll get to cooking you jus-"

*Knock, Knock, knock*

A few knocks could be heard from the door outside, going to check who was knocking on the door, Alec opened it slightly to check who was outside

Quark: "Hello there Alec, sorry to disturb"

Alec: "Oh Quark, what are you doing here?"

Quark: "Well I actually came here for that boy Natsuki Subaru, I heard he was staying here with you, I'd like to speak with him if that's ok"

Alec: "Yeah no problem, I'll call him over right away, Subaru, Do you mind coming over here for a second?"

Subaru: "Uhhh, what now? I'm so tired,"

Groaning to himself Subaru reluctantly Got up from the bed with an annoyed look on his face, getting up Subaru walked through the hallway to where the two voices could be heard, going closer to where he was being called to, Subaru took a glance at who was standing at the door entrance and noticed it was the same blue-haired man he met earlier that day

Subaru: "It's that same man from before" Subaru whispered under his breath, wondering

As Quark was talking with alec, he took a glance behind his leg and noticed Subaru right behind him, giving Subaru a smile and waving at him

Quark: "Oh Subaru, I was just looking for you, I knew I would be talking with you sooner than I thought"

Subaru: "Oh, hello sir, I remember you from before, you said you wanted to speak with me?"

Quark: "Yes I do, and please you don't have to be so formal, just call me Quark"

Subaru: "Oh Alright then... Quark-san"

Giving a smile and a small nod of reassurance to the boy, Quark looked back up to Alec to continue his conversation on why he came here in the first place

Quark: "Now that Subaru's here, do you mind if I come in for a bit?"

Alec: "No, Not at all, please come In"

Saying this Alec moved out of the way allowing Quark to come inside. Subaru following the two men watched as they sat down at a nearby table where the living room was located, Quark gesturing Subaru to come to sit down with them as well. Going over towards where the two of them were sitting, Alec pulled up a chair for Subaru to sit down on.

Sitting down next to them Subaru had a bit of a concerned expression on his face, recalling back to what transpired a few hours ago, remembering how Rem almost got hurt in the forest Subaru thought the reason Quark came over here to talk with him was to blame him for what happened to his daughter, to Rem, At least that's what Subaru thought even though what transpired in the forest was unavoidable, Subaru still thought he came here to blame him for what happened to his daughter.

Getting prepared for what he had to say Subaru sat firm and readied himself for whatever blame he was about to get, Instead of being bombarded with blame, Subaru instead was greeted with a bright smile from the man who looked at Subaru and said "Thank you"

Subaru: "Huh?"

Quark: "Thank you Subaru"

Subaru: "...Thank me?..for what?"

Quark: "For helping make sure my daughter was safe of course When I saw Ram come back home with Rem In her arms completely unconscious I was very worried, Ram told me about everything that happened, and how you helped her protect Rem In that rainstorm earlier, and for that, I thank you"

saying this Quark gave Subaru a light bow to show his gratitude for saving his daughter, which caught Subaru off guard for a bit but in the end, Subaru calmed down and gave him a smile and wave his hand to brush It off, Subaru was just happy to help of course

Subaru: "Oh, It was nothing don't worry about It, I'm just glad she didn't get hurt, that's all"

Bringing his head back up to meet with Subaru Quark gave Subaru another quick bow of thanks for what he did, then spoke up in a happy tone

Quark: "Well other than me coming over here to thank you, that's not the only reason I came here to speak with you, the other reason Is that I wanted to invite you over to my house for dinner, I expect you haven't had much to eat since coming here, think of It as my thanks to you"

Subaru: "Oh thanks, I appreciate the offer but I'm fine, I'm not that hungry anyway-"

*Rumble*

In the middle of their conversation, a light rumble could be heard from under the table, It was Subaru's stomach, getting embarrassed by this Subaru shifted his head to avoid both their gazes as Quark looked at him with a slight smile while Alec looked like he was about to laugh

Quark: "I see that your stomach disagrees with you, If you want to come I'll be waiting outside the door to guide you to my home, and Alec, Thank you for having me"

Getting up from the table, Quark gave Alec a quick bow of gratitude for his hospitality and walked outside closing the door behind him to wait for Subaru's decision

Alec: "Well that was interesting...Subaru what did you do in that hour to make Quark thank you like that"

Subaru: "Oh well.. as he said... I kinda had a part in saving Rem In the forest when the storm was going on, that's actually when I first awakened my magic as well"

Alec: "I see, So that would explain how you were able to use your yang magic already, not only were you able to use our magic In less than a day but you also saved Ram-sama's sister? you really accomplished much in just the span of a day huh"

Subaru: "Yeah, It kinda just happened out of nowhere...also for some reason I didn't need to use those spell names to cast the magic either, and hey, I can't help but get myself into these situations, they sorta just happen!'"

said Subaru slamming his hand on the table in frustration from being looked at as the center of what transpired. Brushing off Subaru's temper tantrum, Alec put his hand on his chin and continued his train of thought

Alec: "Yeah, I noticed In our fight earlier, I didn't expect that...well we can talk about that later, for now, why don't you go follow Quark back to his house for something to eat, you're hungry aren't you?"

Subaru: " I am, but didn't you say you would cook for me?"

Alec: "I did but you should probably go over there instead Temae is a way better cook than me anyways, besides, It's rude to deny an offer like this"

Giving It some thought Subaru decided he might as well go over for dinner, While It's true he was hungry this could also be an opportunity to get closer with the two twin sisters as well, So Subaru decided he would accept Quarks offer

Subaru: "Well I guess I have no choice then, I might as well go since I haven't eaten since I got here, I'll be back soon"

Alec: "Alright, see you later"

As Subaru got up from the table and ran down through the hallway, Alec watched on and sighed to himself from Subaru's lack of decency. As Subaru was out of distance though and no longer in sight he continued his train of thought about Subaru's strange magical power he felt earlier that day in their sparring match.

Alec: "He...couldn't be, could he?"

As Subaru continued to rush through the hallway and opening the door to see if Quark was still waiting for him, and to his surprise, he still was waiting for him outside, Looking back to the door that opened Quark looked down to see the small boy before him, Natsuki Subaru, at this Quark gave Subaru a bright smile to see that he had accepted his offer to join him

Quark: "I see that you've changed your mind, are you ready to go?"

Subaru: "Yes!"

Saying this with enthusiasm Subaru followed behind Quark as he leads him ready to go meet the two twin sisters again, as well as get a meal of course which he was most excited about

Following behind Quark the both of them walked quietly through the silent village, some people who were doing their own thing, while some had eyes on Subaru, which of course was understandable since he was a stranger but still made Subaru feel a bit uneasy.

Quark: "Subaru you okay?"

Subaru: "Oh...Yes I'm alright, Just feeling a little out of place here surrounding by all these people I don't know, that's all, especially with all of them staring at me, It's just making me kinda anxious"

Quark: "Don't worry Subaru, everyone is just excited to see a new face around here, nothing to worry about"

Subaru: "I hope so"

Subaru said anxiously as he still saw some people giving him strange looks passing by

After a few minutes of walking through the village, they Finally reaching their destination, As they reached the house Quark went up to the front door and knocked a few times waiting for an answer

waiting outside the door for a bit, unlocking could be heard from the inside in which a Beautiful woman came out. It was the same woman from earlier, she had pink hair and pink eyes.

Quark: "Dear I'm back, and I brought company, Will we have room for one more?"

Temae: "Oh dear, you finally came back, and I see you brought that adorable boy with you too, please come In"

At this, she gave both of them a bright smile and gestured to them with her hand to come In. Entering the home Subaru walked behind Quark and Tamea to a brightly lit living room and dining table. After looking around for a bit Subaru noticed this house was much bigger than the other ones in the village and was well furnished too. What also grabbed his attention was a large pile of gifts put In one of the corners of the living room, maybe these people were more important than he thought? Subaru wondered.

Temae: "I'll go get the food ready, In the meantime would you mind setting the table?"

Leaving this thought for later Subaru heard his name being called from the side of him, Looking up to see Quark, Quark pointed towards a plethora of plates and cutlery set in the center of the brightly lit dining table

Quark: "Subaru, would you mind helping set the table?"

Subaru: "Oh, sure"

Walking over towards the wooden dining table, Subaru took some plates off the stack and placed five of them around the table, assuming Rem and ram would be joining them as well, thinking for a second, Subaru wondered, where were the two twin sisters anyways? This Is their home but he hasn't seen them anywhere

Subaru: "Quark-san, Are Rem and Ram here? I assume they will be eating with us as well?"

Quark: "Yes there here, they're just in their room, When Ram came back home with Rem in her arms she put her in bed and has been at her side holding her hand ever since waiting for her to wake up"

Subaru: "I hope she's doing ok, I can see how much she loves her sister, I know she wouldn't forgive herself If anything happened to her. Especially Rem, I hope she's not hurt, she's the one who almost got hit after all"

Quark: "I'm thankful for your concern but you shouldn't worry much, my girls are strong, they will overcome whatever problems they have together"

Subaru: "I'm glad to hear that, As soon as I met them I knew they had a strong bond"

Temae: "Dinner is ready!"

Hearing this Subaru and Quark turned to where the voice could be heard and saw Coming out of the nearby kitchen Tamae with all sorts of dishes, getting to the dining table, she started placing all the assorted dishes on the table, what was being served appeared to be cooked rabbit, steamed potatoes, soup, and peas on the side, which he wanted to avoid of course. Looking down at the food in awe, mouth somewhat drooling from not eating for the past day, Tamae saw the excitement on Subaru's face and with a smile gestured for him to take a seat. Not wasting any time Subaru sat down waiting for the rest of them to sit down as well so he could start.

Subaru: "Wow, this all looks so good, thanks for the meal!"

Temae: "Your too kind, It's nothing much but I hope you enjoy it, I made most of the food but Ram made the steamed potatoes, so she takes some credit for the meal"

Subaru: "Well I'll have to thank her when she comes"

After the three of them sat down at the table, Subaru was just waiting to sink his teeth into the food before him but his sense of manners overweight his sense of hunger, especially since his mother would always tell him about manners at the table, especially at a guests house.

Quark: "Well I'll go get Rem and Ram, you too just sit here, I'll be bac-"

Temae: "Oh Ram you finally arrived! please sit we have a guest"

Directing his attention away from the food for a bit, Subaru saw her, It was Ram standing in the hallway entrance. Rubbing her eyes Ram walked up to the table and sat down with them, when Subaru took a glance at her, he saw a tint of redness in her eyes, probably from crying. Subaru not trying to get hit by the girl decided he would hold off from commenting on what she was doing

Temae: "Ram dear, where's Rem, Is she not hungry?"

Ram: "No mom, Rem is still asleep, she still needs to rest after what happened"

Subaru: "Ah so you're finally here, Now that most of us are here can we eat?"

Looking over towards Subaru with a blank and confused expression on her face, the pink-haired girl just responded with a "huh?" at Subaru's questioning then turned to her mom to confirm If what she was seeing was true.

Ram: "Mom, why Is Barusu here?"

Temae: "Oh Subaru is here to eat with us for dinner, your father thought It would be a good idea to have him over, maybe this could be a chance for you to get acquainted better with each other"

Ram: "I don't have time for boys, I guess I'll tolerate him being here, as long as he doesn't try anything I don't like"

Subaru: "Wait a second Were you ignoring my existence again? how did you not see me!?"

Ram: "I'm sorry, you were so insignificant In my eyes that I didn't notice you, Ram apologizes"

Subaru: "That's not how you say sorry!"

At the banter between them, Temae and Quark laughed a bit at their back and forth conversation.

Quark: "You know you might not see It now but I can see you too becoming great friends In the future"

Temae: "Agreed, you too playing together would look so cute!"

Ram: "Mom!"

Flustered after hearing her mothers comment she slammed both her hands on the table which her mother didn't like all that much

Temae: "Dear did I not teach you better than to slam your hands on the table? manners please"

Subaru: "You should listen to your mother, then maybe then can you reflect properly upon your actions against me"

Ram: "Shut It Barusu," she said glaring at him

Subaru: "There you go again with that scary face!"

Quark: "Well since Rem Is going to be resting, we should start eating then, I'll set some food aside for her late-"

As soon as they were about to start a blue-haired figure could be seen in the distance by the hallway, rubbing her eyes and yawning a bit she walked towards the table where everyone else was sitting until Ram spoke up In a worried tone seeing her sister awake all of a sudden

Ram: "Rem, why are you up?, you should be In bed resting"

Rem: "I-I'm sorry Nee-sama but I couldn't sleep"

Ram: "Huh, why?" she asked still a bit worried that Rem was up so fast

Rem: "It's just that I couldn't sleep since Nee-sama wasn't around holding my hand anymore"

Rem said timidly, putting her head down expecting a scolding from her sister for not staying in bed, but instead, Ram got up from the table and patted Rem's soft blue hair, telling her "It's okay"

Ram: "If you couldn't sleep because I wasn't there, I guess that's just another fault of me being a bad older sister once again"

Rem: "No! Nee-sama could never be a bad sister! It was my fault for being so careless"

Running up towards Ram, Rem jumped into her sister's arms embracing her. Ram quickly caught her sister and hugged her back at this sudden gesture, rubbing the back of her head with her free hand.

Watching the sight before him Subaru couldn't help but smile as well as Temae and Quark watching their two adorable daughters' affection for one another, "I don't think I'll ever get tired of these scenes" Subaru thought to himself.

Breaking apart from their hug Ram, grabbed Rem's hand and brought her to the table to sit down with the rest of them.

Ram: "Well Rem I made your favorite, your favorite steamed potatoes made by yours truly! Ram said with pride

Rem: "Nee-sama's cooking Is always the best!"

Subaru: "You really are proud of steaming some potatoes huh"

Ram: Yes It's my specialty and If you don't like them I might as well take them from your plate"

Subaru: "No, I'm good, I haven't eaten all day!"

Both parents giggling at this, Quark then drew his attention towards Rem"

Quark: "Also by the way Rem, since Subaru Is nowhere, you should thank him for making sure you were safe back then, I was so worried about you"

At this comment Rem's voice choked up and froze in place, acting timidly again she put her head down towards Subaru

Rem: "Thank you for saving me….I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused you"

Looking at the girl, Subaru couldn't help but think she was being a bit too timid, So deciding to brush It off, rubbing the back of his hair Subaru tried to change the topic to make her feel better

Subaru: "Don't worry about It Rem, I'm just glad you're safe"

Saying this Subaru smiled at her which made her bring her head down in shyness, which made Temae and Quark "aww" In the process.

Temae: "So cute!, I just know eventually all of you will be great friends, I can't wait"

Subaru: "Well even If I can't make friends with them now, I'm still trying my best to close that gap"

Ram: "Hmph, I don't think Barusu should get ahead of himself now"

Subaru: "And there you go again, can't you say anything nice?"

Quark: "I'm already loving the dynamic between you two"

When Quark spoke up interrupting their back and forth with that comment both Subaru and Ram pouted and looked away from each other

Temae: "Ha, me too, but Ram honey, you need to eat more peas, here"

Passing the side bowl of peas over to Ram, Ram looked at them with disgust and tried to pass them back to her mother but was stopped midway

Ram: "Mother, I'm good on the pea"

Temae: "But honey I made them for you and Rem, you need to eat them to get big and strong"

Ram: "Uhhh"

Reluctantly grabbing the bowl of peas from her mother Ram started to pick at the peas in disgust, barely eating any of them. At this site between Temae and Ram, Subaru couldn't help but recall back to the time his mom and he would go back and forth about eating the vegetables she put out for him, remembering back to when he left his parents Subaru couldn't help but get a bittersweet expression on his face, bringing his head down a little bit.

Quark noticing this turned his attention towards Subaru who now had his head down put his hand on his shoulder to see if he was alright.

Quark: "Subaru, are you okay? If your'e not hungry you don't have to eat"

Bringing his head back up and looking at Quark, noticing his worry Subaru shook his head

Subaru: "Oh it's nothing don't worry about It...It's Just that sitting here with you all just reminded me of the time I and my parents would sit and eat together like this"

Quark: "Your parents?" Quark tilted his head in confusion

Subaru: "Yeah.. my mom and dad"

Quark: "Oh, now that I think about It the village chief did say you came here alone so, If you mind me asking, where are your parents?"

Subaru: "To be honest I'm not sure myself, I don't even know where I am either, but wherever they are I'll get back to them, I miss them very much"

Quark: "Well I hope wherever they are I hope you find them, a child shouldn't be separated from their family"

Subaru: "Yeah, no matter what I'll get back to them, It's my promise to them, they really are great parents"

Quark: " I'm sure they are and I hope you fin-"

Temae: "Ram!, stop picking at your vegetables, be a good example for your little sister"

Ram: "Uhhh"

When Ram started to pick at her vegetables, Rem followed pursuit and started doing the same following In her sister's footsteps. Looking at the site before him Subaru and Quark couldn't help but laugh, which made Temae drop her mad expression for a bit making her laugh in the process as well.

As the family sat down eating they laughed away the hours until the moonlight came down upon them.

Noticing It getting late Subaru got up from the table, said his goodbyes to the family, and walked back to Alec's house. Arriving at the house in the dark Subaru knocked a few times to see if he would get an answer and to his dismay no one answered, "he must be asleep" Subaru thought to himself, getting a little annoyed he probably forgot about him

Subaru: "Hopefully he didn't lock me out, I don't want to sleep outside"

Nudging the door handle a bit, thankfully It opened, walking Inside Subaru went to the bedroom and much to his "surprise" he was fast asleep with his arm sticking out in the air

Before getting into bed to sleep Subaru sat at the bedside and contemplated the events that happened today

Subaru: "Mom, Dad, I had a crazy day today, you wouldn't believe It, I learned how to use magic...I guess you wouldn't understand that but I finally went over to a girl's house today... so there's that Dad, heh you'd probably laugh, they're pretty interesting people one of them Is very arrogant while the other Is somewhat quiet and shy, I hope I get to know them better too, If I'm here for a while might as well get to know some people here right? you probably can't hear me right now, can you? Well... I just want you to know, I love you both and miss you so very much I know It's only been a day since I left you both but I know you're worried about me so I won't keep you waiting for long, no matter what I'll get back to you"

It's a promise

Saying these final words Subaru collapsed on the bed and fell asleep, waiting to see what was in store for him the next day.

Pov change:

Walking into a lightly lit room a man could be seen sitting at a desk smoking his tobacco from a pipe

Setenta: "Yes what do you want?"

Drew: "Sir I've come back with some news, more news on the boy, Natsuki Subaru"

Setenta: "Yes and what did you find? Is he acting suspiciously?"

Drew: "No sir, He isn't acting Ill-mannered or snooping around but I learned something...you might want to know"

Setenta: "Well then spit it out"

Drew: "During a sparring match today between him and Alec, I saw his power, He took down Alec in a single blow In his demon mode...his power, I've never sensed such raw malice from an Oni before...not even Ram-sama, his power Is pure evil"

Setenta: "Impossible, are you implying that there's an Oni more powerful than the Oni god?"

Drew: "Of course not sir, no one can be more powerful than Ram-sama... but still..."

*sigh*

Setenta: "Ok Drew, thank you for this information, maybe this could be good, maybe we could use this boy to our advantage, Drew still keep a close eye on him, and keep observing his power from now on, I want to see how he progresses"

Drew: "Yes sir"
