Regina was still staying at the loft two months after the fire. She was able to get around on her own with just her cane for the most part. Sometimes her leg or back gave her more trouble and she would need someone to help her. She was walking from the bathroom back to the sitting room one day. Regina had a path that she always walked because she counted her steps. Henry had accidentally left his shoes in that path. The kid was in the sitting room with Snow, David, and Emma when they heard a panicked cry and a thud. Everyone turned around and saw a terrified Regina on the floor. "Regina!" Emma rushed to the woman and her parents followed. "Are you alright?"

The woman was shaking and crying, "I don't know," she choked out.

Henry felt terrible when he saw how much tripping affected his mother emotionally. "Do you want me to carry you to your bed?" David asked. Regina didn't answer but she did nod. David talked to the woman as he bent down to lift her up. Once she was in bed, Emma crawled in and held her. The two had been sharing a bed because Regina needed so much help and someone had to be there if she woke up during the night.

Emma rocked the woman and did everything she could to soothe her. "Thank you," Regina said softly.

"Are you feeling any better?"

"A little," Regina answered.

"Mom," Henry slowly approached his moms. "I'm sorry for leaving my shoes there. That's what you tripped on. I'm sorry for being so mean to you and ignoring you."

Regina held her hand out and moved it around to find Henry. The boy took the hint and took his mother's hand. "Thank you and just make sure you put your shoes away from now on. I know that you didn't do it on purpose. I am thrilled to hear you call me mom again."

"I love you, mom."

"I love you too, Henry."

"I'll let you rest." Henry placed a kiss on his mother's forehead and returned to the sitting area.

"I bet you feel a lot better now," Emma said and Regina just nodded.

"Emma," Snow yelled, "we're going to pick up dinner from Granny's. We're taking Henry."

"Okay," Emma yelled back. They had decided to order dinner that night. The three left and it was just Emma and Regina.

"Emma," Regina whispered.

"Yeah?"

"I have to tell you something."

"You don't have to whisper. They're gone now."

"I know, but I'm afraid to tell you."

"Regina, you don't ever have to be afraid of me."

Regina began to cry again, "Emma, I'm falling in love with you," she choked out. The mayor began to panic when Emma remained quiet, "it's just that we've spent a lot of time together over the past two months. No one has ever treated me the way you do and I'm sorry," Regina spoke incredibly fast.

"Don't be sorry," Emma said gently, "I was just surprised. I wasn't sure if you were joking so I waited to see if you laughed."

"Why would I joke about that?"

"I don't know, but I've heard it before. It never upset me."

"This one would have? If it had been a joke?"

"Yeah because I have fallen in love with you."

"Really?" a feeling of relief washed over Regina.

"Yeah," Emma whispered as she moved her face closer to Regina's. The blonde kissed the mayor, "I didn't startle you, did I?"

"I'm glad you didn't tell me you were going to kiss me. It made it so much better."

"I was waiting for you and Henry to reconcile. I didn't want to upset him."

"Yeah, before it would have made things worse."

"I love you, Regina."

"You know what? I love you too, Emma. When should we tell everyone?"

"Whenever you want."

"Well, this loft is small. We should probably tell them."

When Henry, Snow, and David returned, Emma helped Regina to the table. "Regina, were you able to take a little nap while we were gone?" Snow asked.

"No, actually, Emma and I had a nice conversation."

Emma took Regina's hand, "Regina and I are in love."

"About time," Snow said.

"Yeah, we thought you'd never figure it out," David added.

"Wait, you two knew?" Emma asked.

"Ma, I even knew," Henry said.

"Well, when did you all figure this out?" Regina asked.

"The day you were released from the hospital," Snow said.

"Same," Henry said.

"That's why Snow and I left the room. We talked about it and decided we had plenty of time to get used to the idea because you two were clueless."

"I'm just relieved you're okay with this," Emma said.

"All we want is for you to be happy," Snow told her daughter.

"You know, you could have told us," Regina said.

"Where's the fun and romance in that?" David asked.

"True," Emma agreed, "the moment wouldn't have been nearly as romantic if they had told us."

Once everyone was in bed, Regina decided to ask Emma something, "Emma, are you awake?"

"Yeah, do you need to get up?"

"No, I was just wondering if you would make love to me?"

"Are you sure about that?"

Regina's heart dropped, "never mind. I don't blame you. It's probably too difficult to have sex since I'm blind."

"Regina, I'm just asking because your leg and back are still tender. Plus, you fell today."

Regina was embarrassed, "sorry," she said softly.

"It's okay," Emma said, "so, are you up for it?"

"I'd like to try."

Emma and Regina were surprised at how easy it was to make love. Regina's blindness didn't affect the moment at all.
