A note on my pen name, since people ask: Mnemosyne ("Neh-mah-sin-ee") is the Greek Titaness of memory. I was a psych major, and I've always been fascinated with memory and its workings. Also, Mnemosyne is the mother of the Muses, so it seems fitting in connection to my writing. An elegy is like a melancholy, mournful poem or lament, often in connection to grieving for someone who has died. So the name roughly translates to something like "memory's elegy" or "memory's lament", which describes my style of writing pretty well. I've also been known to go by Elegy, M.E., Nemo, and Hey-You-Author-Girl-with-the-Unpronounceable-Name.

I've also been moving my stories over to AO3 under Mnemosyne_Elegy in light of all the issues FFN has been having. I'm mostly keeping that account for archiving purposes, and all new content will be posted here first and maintained here.

I write mainly for Fairy Tail and Noragami, as well as original fiction. I started with FT in 2015 and Noragami in 2018, and these days I try to divide my writing time between those two fandoms and original work. FT stories usually focus on Gray (and his relationships with other characters, especially Natsu, Lyon, and Erza) and Noragami stories usually focus on Yato (and his relationships with other characters, especially Yukine and Bishamon). I write mostly angst and hurt/comfort, but also a lot of friendship, fluff, and humor. I also don't write a whole lot of romance. I'm more of a "friendshipper" than a "romantic shipper".

Fairy Tail

-Unto the Sea: Status: Complete, currently posting. Multi-chapter focusing on Lyon and Juvia, AU. Summary: Lyon is content with his ordinary, boring life, but everything changes when he meets a legend one night on the beach. Now there's an injured, beautiful, but strangely voiceless selkie in his home, and it's up to him to help her...and maybe break a curse. He might even fall in love along the way, but it's dangerous to love a creature whose heart belongs first to the sea.

-Changeling: Status: Complete, not posted. One-shot focusing on Gray and the team. Summary: It seems like a great thing when a new ice mage joins the guild, at least until Gray's health starts deteriorating and the new girl begins taking his place on the team. Gray doesn't want to be replaced. And with his health declining precipitously and Porlyusica warning he risks death if he doesn't figure out what is sapping his magic, it seems awfully coincidental that his problems started right around the time their new ice mage arrived.

-The Sighted: Status: Complete, not posted. One-shot focusing on Juvia, Gray, and Erza. Free verse. Summary: Juvia has the foresight to realize Gray shouldn't be alone after his father's "death", but not enough to stop him from disappearing in the night. Gray is walking blind, one foot over the edge, and he's bound to fall eventually. And in hindsight, Erza should have known that sending Gray to Avatar was inviting disaster.

-Flashback: Status: Complete, not posted. Two-shot focusing on Gray, Rufus, and Lyon. Alternate fight during GMG. Summary: Rufus is looking to make a scene, and the flashiest way to disable an opponent is to drag out their most crippling memories. Gray has plenty of heartbreaking ones to spare.

-The Future Undone: Status: Complete, not posted. One-shot focusing on Gray and Lyon. Post-GMG. Summary: Whether it was just a glimpse of the future or a fragment of an unrealized past, Gray's death at the hands of the dragonlings has been haunting Lyon. He finally caves to go check on his little brother, only to realize that something has been bothering Gray too.

-Wandering Soul: Status: Currently writing, not posted. Probably short multichapter focusing on Gray and Lyon. Summary: Lyon already has his hands full trying to resurrect a demon, and he doesn't need the ghost of his childhood enemy getting in his way. Maybe ghost. Gray doesn't seem to think he's dead, but he might as well be since Lyon has no problem waiting for him to fade away into nothing.

-Icebound: Status: Not written. Probably short multichapter focusing on Gray, Natsu, Lyon, and the rest of FT. Summary: Gray is gone—everyone knows that iced shell is the end. Years later it suddenly comes to light that maybe he isn't quite as gone as everyone thinks, and Natsu and Lyon do everything in their power to bring him back. But Gray isn't the same, and as everyone works to help him rebuild his shattered life, they have to wonder if it might not have been better to let him go.

-The Unraveling: Status: Not written. Probably short multichapter. Sort of Groundhog Day plot, but with a twist. Summary: When Gray dies on a mission gone wrong, Natsu will do whatever it takes to undo it. But the more he tries to fix things, the more it starts to feel like the world is unraveling around him.

-Magic Mixup: Status: Not written. Probably short multichapter focusing on Gray, Natsu, and the team. Summary: When a freak accident with a dark guild switches up the team's powers, they have to figure out how to get their magics back to normal, all the while struggling to use unfamiliar powers. And they'd better hurry because although it might just be an inconvenience to some, it could prove fatal for two of them.

-Keep on Haunting Me: Status: Not written. Probably short multichapter focusing on Gray and Lucy with input from Natsu, Erza, and Lyon. Summary: Moving into the old mansion seemed exciting, despite the rumors. But Lucy quickly realizes that there is something lurking inside that does not want her there, and soon she's fighting to keep her own home. Then she comes face to face with the ghost haunting her house, and she and her friends are thrown into unraveling the mystery of Gray Fullbuster. He wants to move on and they're willing to help...even if they slowly realize that they don't want him to go.

-All Fun and Games: Status: Not written. One-shot focusing on Gray and Natsu with appearances from Laxus and Raijinshuu. Battle of Fairy Tail. Might possibly write a second part with Natsu and Laxus on Tenrou. Summary: Natsu thought that Laxus's scheme was all fun and games at first, because surely a Fairy Tail mage wouldn't really turn on the guild like that and try to seriously hurt people. But after an accidental death match, the Battle of Fairy Tail starts to go horribly wrong.

-Into the Silence: Status: Not written. One- or two-shot focusing on Gray and Natsu. Post-Galuna. Summary: One night shortly after the incident on Galuna Island, Gray shows up on Natsu's doorstep in tears. Something's wrong and Gray's not talking, so it's up to Natsu to look for a way to help.

-Some Say the World Will End in Fire: Status: Not written. One- or two-shot focusing mainly on Gray and Natsu, with the rest of Team Natsu thrown in. Summary: ...and knowing the nature of E.N.D., Fairy Tail might be inclined to agree. But Natsu has a desperate plan to make sure that doesn't happen. The problem is that he needs Gray's cooperation, and the ice mage has been working on a backup plan of his own.

Gray and Lyon:

-Unnamed: Status: Not written. Two-shot focusing on Gray and Lyon. Alvarez. Summary: It wasn't Ur, it was just an ugly piece of magic wearing her face. Gray knew that, but it didn't change the fact that he didn't think that he could kill her again.

Gray and the girls:

Summary: Lucy didn't realize what she was getting herself into when she decided that she'd had enough of Juvia harassing her and would fight back, but somehow she finds herself in a war for Gray's heart...even though she doesn't love him. And the truth is that her realization might come far too late. Love rivalries are always the ugliest kind of competition, and someone's heart is always on the line.

-Unnamed: Status: Not written. One-shot focusing on Lucy and Gray, with some Natsu. Summary: Lucy should be delighted when Natsu finally works up the nerve to ask her out, but a past trauma rears its ugly head and she realizes that maybe she's not quite ready to trust again after all. When Gray follows her out, she's forced to regain her voice. And he's a little too understanding as he helps her decide whether she's ready to move on.

-Knells of Futures Past: Status: Complete, not posted. Two-shot focusing on Yukine and Yato. Summary: When Yukine refuses to go with Yato on a housekeeping job after a routine argument, the god of course gets himself into trouble and needs rescuing. Yukine is almost too late, and it finally hits home, what happened to Ebisu before. He’s plagued by nightmares of what it would mean for Yato to reincarnate. Yato, of course, doesn’t get it at all.

-Xenial: Status: Complete, not posted. One-shot focusing on Yato, Bishamon, Kofuku, Ebisu. Summary: Each of the gods had their own brand of hospitality and did things their own way, but in the end, they were all building up to much the same thing.

-Debts Forgiven: Status: Complete, not posted. One-shot focusing on Yato and Kazuma. Summary: Kazuma never did understand Yato, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t try. He keeps coming back through the years, looking for a way to repay the life-debt he owes. He never quite feels like he manages, but he learns a lot along the way.

-Unnamed: Status: Not written. One-shot or short multichapter focusing on Yukine and Yato. Summary: Somehow, Yukine never truly believed Hiyori would forget or Yato might disappear. But by the time he finds the notebook hidden beneath the floorboards, it’s already too late. Somehow it hurts even more to find all these pieces of Yato when he’s not coming back.

-Unnamed: Status: Not written. Multichapter focusing on Yato and Yukine, with some Bishamon and minor OC. Summary: When Yato comes home with a new shinki, Yukine is furious. Maybe it’s only a favor to Bishamon, but it’s a dangerous one. Yato is trying to save someone who doesn’t want to be saved, and all Yukine can do is try to make sure it doesn’t kill him.
