Snow was haunted by Regina's words. She told David, but not Emma. They knew Emma was still angry and wouldn't believe them. Luckily, Henry Sr. kept calling. Unfortunately, Emma ignored every call. Snow walked over to her daughter who was watching television with Henry and David. "Emma, your grandfather keeps calling."
"It's probably just Regina. She knows I've blocked her."
"Maybe you should talk to them? It's been three weeks," David said.
A half-hour later there was a frantic knocking at the door. David answered it and found Regina's father, "Henry, is everything okay?"
"No, it's not."
David let the man in and was joined by the others. "Emma, I've been trying to reach you. Your grand...I mean Regina had a heart attack."
"Oh my God," Snow said, "is she alright?"
"They don't think she'll live through the night."
Emma grabbed her jacket and ran out the door. Her family followed. The sheriff ran to her grandmother's room. Cora was sitting, facing the door, and holding her daughter's hand. Regina was deathly pale. She turned and saw her granddaughter, "Emma," she croaked.
"I don't hate you," she blurted out. Emma was unaware that her family had entered the room and shut the door. "I feel guilty for loving you because you tried to kill my parents repeatedly. You placed a curse and took me to get revenge. Yet, I still love you. I remember all of the times we'd play in the snow and after you'd make me hot cocoa with cinnamon on top. I remember you taking me shopping for dresses and school clothes. I remember you comforting me when there was a storm or I had a bad dream. When I told you I missed my parents you always said that I would be with them again one day. That's what I remember. I'm sorry for how I've been treating you." Emma rushed to hug the dying woman and cried.
"Shh," Regina tried to soothe her, "it's alright. I love you too. You're going to be alright. Look at all of the family you have."
Regina began to cough and placed a hand on her chest, "gram? What's wrong?" The heart monitors went crazy and the medical team rushed in. They ushered the family out.
Whale emerged moments later, "she's sedated," he said, "we had no choice. It was the only way to make her comfortable."
Emma walked in and sat next to the bed. She held her grandmother's hand and cried.
"Emma," the sheriff turned to find Mother Superior.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to help. Regina gave up her youth to cast the curse, but there's a loophole that can get it back for her. She had to make amends to those she wronged."
"It's too late for that."
"No, because she's been forgiven without having to speak with everyone."
Emma turned and saw the town in the waiting area, "I don't understand."
"They realized that Regina is not the Evil Queen anymore. She has a family who loves and needs her." Blue lit her wand up and waved it over Regina. The woman aged backward to the age she was when she cast the curse. "She will still have a recovery from her heart attack, but her other ailments will be gone. I'll let Whale know so he can consider waking her up."
Regina opened her eyes and smiled when she saw Emma, "what happened?"
"You've been forgiven and saved."
Emma handed Regina a mirror and the woman was in shock, "I can't believe this."
"Blue said you will still have to recover from your heart attack, but it won't be as bad since the rest of you is healthy now."
Regina looked at the woman and knew what she wanted. "Come here," she opened her arms and Emma ran into them.
"I'm so glad you're here, but it is kind of weird that I'm the same age as my mother and like ten years younger than my grandmother."
"I thought we weren't using the 'g' word?"
Emma laughed, "I'll be right back."
She came back with Cora, Henry, Snow, David, and Henry Sr. Regina moved further into her bed upon seeing David and Snow. "Thank you," David said.
Regina looked at them in surprise, "for what?"
"You didn't have to raise her the way you did. You could have treated her terribly, but you didn't."
"I am sorry for everything."
"We know," Snow said, "it will just take some time."
"You're giving me another chance?"
"Yes," Snow said softly.
"Thank you," Regina reached out to take Snow's hand. She was going to do everything she could to make amends to her family. She was determined to never lose them again.
