David, Snow, Emma, and Henry went to Regina's after dinner at Granny's.

"What are you all doing here?" the mayor asked when she opened the door.

"We came to say thank you," Snow said.

"You don't have to thank me."

"You didn't have to save Snow and Emma, but you did," David added. "Although, I'd like to add that you wouldn't have had to save them if you hadn't needed to open that portal to send the wraith away to keep yourself safe."

"David," Snow scolded her husband.

"I had no intention of Emma and Snow getting hurt. The portal sucked Emma in and Snow followed. You have everything now. Why are you still angry with me?"

"All the times you've tried to kill my family and all the family you've killed," David yelled. "You know what? You don't deserve a great kid like Henry and he doesn't deserve an Evil Queen for a mom."

"You have no idea what I'm like as a mom."

"Oh yeah? Then why has Henry been so eager to get away from you?"

"I just didn't want him to know about my past."

"Or help break the curse? Then we'd all remember what you've done and come after you."

"You want to kill me, Charming, then kill me. Go on and do it." Regina began to feel tired and her face lost all color.

"Regina, are you alright?" Emma asked.

"What do you care? I'm fine, I just..." Regina gasped and grabbed her left arm as her face contorted in pain. To her surprise, David caught her as she began to collapse.

"We have to call for an ambulance," Snow said.

"No," Regina said softly, "no one will help me."

"Regina, can you cross the town line?" Emma asked.

"Yes, why?"

"Where are your car keys?"

"In my purse by the door."

"David, will you carry Regina to her car?" the man lifted the ill woman and Emma grabbed her purse.

"Henry, stay with David and Mary Margaret. I'm going to rush Regina to a hospital outside of town."

David got Regina into the car and buckled her up. Regina took the man's hand as he pulled it away, "I really am sorry for everything," she whispered.

David didn't say anything and Regina let go, "be careful," David told his daughter before shutting the passenger side door.

The doctor at a nearby hospital ordered tests when the two women arrived. After they were completed, Emma walked into Regina's hospital room. The woman was hooked up to various monitors and oxygen.

"How do you feel?" Emma asked.

"Tired," Regina answered softly.

Emma sat and took Regina's hand. About a half-hour later the doctor walked in, "Miss Mills, you have suffered a mild heart attack. It doesn't require surgery, but you do need to rest and try to eliminate any stress. I'd like to keep you here overnight for observation."

Emma turned to Regina, "you okay?"

"Do I have to stay?"

"I would prefer it, but I can't stop you from signing out AMA."

"I want to go home."

"I'll have the nurse draw up the paperwork."

A few hours later, Emma helped Regina into her house. The woman was exhausted, "do you want to sleep downstairs?"

"No, I'll just have to take it slow up the stairs."

Emma told Regina to stay in bed and she would take care of her. David and Snow stopped by after dropping Henry off at school.

"So, what's the word?" David asked.

"Mild heart attack. She needs rest and no stress," Emma said.

"Emma," a faint voice said from the staircase.

Emma walked out of the living room followed by her parents. "Hey," she said softly upon seeing Regina halfway down the stairs. Emma rushed to her side, "what are you doing up?"

"I needed to get out of my room, but I got tired halfway down."

"I've got you," Emma helped Regina down the steps, "why don't we go sit outside?"

"Alright," Regina whispered.

Emma helped the woman to a chair in the backyard. David asked his wife and daughter to give him and Regina a moment. "Listen, I'm sorry for my reaction to your apology the other night. I guess it just caught me off guard. I'm also sorry for the things I said to you."

"They were true."

"That doesn't make it right."

"I appreciate your apology and I accept it."

"I'm also sorry you're ill and hurting."

"Thank you, David."

David left for work and Emma went to get Henry from school. Snow stayed behind with Regina. "I have no idea how I'm supposed to be stress-free."

"Yeah, you really live the wrong life for that," Snow said. Regina chuckled at the comment. The laughter hurt her chest a bit. "Are you okay?" Snow began to panic.

"Yeah, the movement just hurt. I'm so stiff that even breathing gets a bit painful."

"Why didn't you stay at the hospital?"

"I didn't like being there and I didn't need to be."

"Were you feeling symptoms before yesterday?"

"I was just tired and dizzy at times." Regina turned her head and looked at her apple tree. Regret began to fill her with more pain than any heart attack could. "I'm so sorry," she said softly. "I was so awful to you and you didn't deserve it."

"I got your true love killed."

"You were a kid and you truly thought you were helping. My mother manipulated you for her own gain by using your loss. I'm so sorry for everything and I do mean everything."

Snow leaned forward and took Regina's hand, "you know, I think I already forgave you. I'm sorry too."

"I think that maybe Henry should stay with you and David for now. I don't want him trying to take care of me."

"Well, that's going to be difficult because we're staying here."

"You don't have to."

"We want to. Now, I think it's time for your pills which means you have to get to bed or the couch."

"I hate those pills. They knock me out for so long."

Snow placed a hand under Regina's arm and took the brunette's hand with the other to help her stand. She walked the mayor to the couch before giving her pain pills to her.

Since her heart attack was mild, Regina recovered in two months. In that time she had become a part of the Charming family. Snow and David had accepted her and Emma had gone even further. She married the woman that she had fallen in love with during those two months. Regina's heart had never felt better and now she was able to live happily ever after...finally.
