The sight of the murders of Grimm soaring towards the landing bays had broken the panicking people in the landing pad into two groups. Ones that kept trying to get on a shuttle and those that realized the impossibility of that and attempted to get off the pad. The two just ended up butting into one another and left everybody incapable of going anywhere as Griffins descended on the pads. Blake couldn't find it in herself to blame them for their panic, they hadn't faced Grimm before, just seen images or videos lessening the threat of facing them.

The mass of Atlas Soldiers and Hunters weren't idle either, aiming what ranged weapons they had in a disorganized hail of gunfire.

Ruby, Ren, Yang, and herself all joined in. The Atlas bots were the only ones having the best luck though. Their impassive stance and advanced targeting made it a lot easier to shoot over the fleeing crowd. Eventually, enough people had pulled away from the sides that hitting the Grimm became easier. Still even with all that firepower going down rang some still made it through. Blake could only stare on in horror as a griffin attacked the engine of one of the transports already leaving the pad. Clearly, the beast had dealt with aircraft before and it spun out of control and made the long journey down to crash.

Blake was no expert on these vehicles but was certain you need both engines for them to function.

Some griffins just flew down on the pad and snatched people up. The sudden interjection of the Grimm was too much and caused people at the edges to tumble over the railingless platforms. Everyone was trying their best to keep the aerial Grimm away from the Bullheads as many sealed their doors and pulled away from the landing pads. Most just diving down to avoid flying into the Grimm and projectiles.

One griffin landed on an aircraft closest to the pad their group was at. It roared defiantly and Yang put a shot directly into its back. The force and its lack of traction on the aircraft caused it to slide off the front of the aircraft. People were still trying to get in but that attack convinced the pilot to pull away immediately. Anyone still trying to get on fell backward if they were lucky for gravity would seize control over them and they'd stumble off the edge.

The havoc made Blake feel so helpless to do much about it all. Even when a couple of Atlas aircraft came in and fired upon the Grimm there were still many either getting trampled, falling off, or just dying from a lack of medical care due to the chaos. All this and Blake didn't even want to know what was happening on the ground.

She turned to reload, ready to do anything to make this situation even slightly better for anyone. That was when she caught something in the doorway to one of the corridors. Black mixed with Red with a deep crimson katana.

"Adam!" Blake cried before sparing everyone a quick glance before rushing into the crowd.

"What are you-? Oh for the love of-" Yang just caught herself before swearing before her sister. "I got Blake, just keep shooting and try and get yourself off of Amity"

"But Yang-"

"No buts!" Ruby had never heard her sister yell so sternly like that and was momentarily too surprised to follow Yang into the crowd.

Blake busted through the double doors she saw him standing in and once more found herself inside of a narrow corridor facing Adam. She gripped Gambol Shroud tighter, seeking comfort in the reminder she was armed and dangerous. Grimm was still assaulting the Colosseum and the people out there needed help, but there were plenty of soldiers and Hunters to help with that. This was just as important in ending the woes Vale was facing.

"I knew you'd come, Blake. You couldn't resist the urge."

"Adam…"

"It's what you've been doing in Vale the last few months, yes I know about that." Adam added once he saw the look on her face. His red hair and black outfit the same as what he'd worn for as long as she knew him. Nothing about him looked to have changed at all. He was the same man she ditched at the train, that's why she needed to take him down now.

"It's been so long since you betrayed me and yet all you can do is whisper my name and stare at me?"

She struggled to find the words, but none came out. Was there anything Blake wanted or even needed to say here? A conversation seemed pointless.

"What should I have expected?" He took a slow step forwards, gripping his hilt. She knew that even with it sheathed he was still dangerous, half a second was all he'd needed so she backed up. "You always were soft and sentimental like your parents. You almost broke from it, I tried to accommodate it even. Yet kindness turned out to be nothing more than seeds of cowardice."

"No." She shook her head, nothing more nothing less.

"Yes, Blake. Cowardice. You stood by me when the White Fang change into a real force to be reckoned with. No one dragged along, you knew exactly what it was we wanted and embraced it. Don't tell me you didn't."

"I won't." She answered honestly. "I was never misled or lied to by you... but I didn't have the whole story then. A better perspective, it's not perfect but that's what I stand by now." Gambol Shroud was unsheathed as Adam growled at her proclamation.

"I made a mistake back then," She admitted. "I accept that now. I'm trying to fix it."

Blake was only just able to perceive him diving forwards. Her dual blade aided in her response time to his assault. The clanking and scrapes of metal on metal filled the empty hall with only the muffled cries of civilians and sounds of battle from the airpads beyond the doors they came through. Blake was fast enough and knew Adam well enough to match him for now. As time went now however she began to skip back from the pressure. He was always more skilled than she and determination wasn't a quality that aided in a fight. Only skill and experience.

Blake knew she could flee, push came to shove getting out of here and failing into the crowds would be a simple matter. Although Adam probably banked on the idea she wouldn't, to run would be leaving him with a chance to escape as well. Hence why he made himself visible to her, and she could not allow him to leave after giving her this chance. Jaune was taking care of Cinder and Blake would deal with Adam, the attacks would end with this Grimm raid.

"Why did you have to come into my life and ruin everything!" Adam cried out angrily. "This should have been a glorious day for all of Faunuskind, a splendid victory that would be remembered throughout the ages!"

"Would you just shut up!" She was done with his attempts at self-actualization.

"When I am done here, I will enjoy taking apart those humans you call friends."

It was at that time that her blade once more connected with his, the man was fast enough to pull away instead of parring though. He'd been doing nothing but parry here.

Adam seemed to be taking too many hits than Blake knew he would tolerate. It wasn't until his hair glowed dangerously did she realize why and in a moment she would soon regret leaped back with the aid of a shadow clone. One that turned to stone then shattered from Adam's attack and a storm of debris shot out and impacted her midsection, chest, and head. The volume and velocity these projectiles came at were blocked by aura but meow than enough to knock the cat Faunus to her back. Both halves of Gambol Shroud chatted to the ground and Blake coughed trying to regain some air in her lungs. She was barely able to register Adam standing over her.

"Pathetic, this is what you've become." Crimson Blade shined as it was raised in reverse grip and amber eyes widened in fear. The end seemed to be near.

Just then the doors to the corridor exploded open and a bright yellow figure surged in. Yang's sudden interjection caught Adam off guard. Her partner was glow and eyes a blood-red and a flurry of blow came to pummel him into the ground. He was fast enough to move his sword in the way. Ember Celica's concussive round bounced on the floor as shot after shot rang out and into his sword.

It terrified Blake as to how much damage he was soaking up. That much kinetic energy being absorbed was not good for their health. Not that Yang knew that, so Blake pushed herself off the ground and towards the melee. Yang then delivered such a thunderous blow with her fist as to send him back almost a yard. Blake was certain she even saw a large chip fly off of the center of his blade from it.

Adam snarled and resheathed his sword. Yang looked confused by the notion but Blake knew what it mean as his hair glowed a deep red. The bull Faunus poured all the energy Yang unwittingly gave him and Blake calmed out for Yang to duck or even run. Not that it would end well as the hallway meant there was only one way to go.

Adam yanked hard on his sword as Blake just reached Yang's side and she braced herself for an attack that never came. The blade was caught in the sheath, the chip on it Yang made likely being the reason and so much energy stored within and ready to leave did so... In a blast of red, the sword and sheath exploded on his side and sent the man flying. The force enough to blowback the partners as well. Adam's aura glowed then faded into nothing and he groaned to his feet. Weapon gone, aura depleted, and semblance was now useless. He was done for without his sword and they all knew it.

So he turned and tried to bolt out of there.

Blake wouldn't let him.

Allowing gravity to take her cleaver the blade of her katana folded, it left her hand a second later. Twirling briefly through the air, Adam didn't have time to so much as cry out as Gambol Shroud struck the back of his head. Lack of aura and the sheer force at that point caused his body to collapse like a puppet with its strings cut. Adam slid for a moment before Blake could rush to his side and pin the bull's front to the metallic floor. After a moment she was satisfied to find him uncovered but not dead and stood. Soon to be joined by Yang.

"You good?" Yang asked.

Blake stared at the unconscious boy, they would need to get some Atlas soldiers here to take him away. The White Fang in Vale was done for, the organization would be finished after today. The White Fang overall would still be an issue but at least in Vale, they weren't likely to be a problem. She had part of that to thank Jaune for. He was there to pitch in against the Vale sect, she just ended it.

"Yeah... I think am."

While it would be interesting to say that Amber woke abruptly from her slumber with a gasp and shot upright as you'd see in movies. That would be lying, it was more her eyes slowly opened, and her body took a minute or so to get the memo that she was awake. After being a passenger in Jaune's body for almost a year it still felt odd to be back where she was supposed to be. Feeling the fabric beneath her and the cold metal under that trying to sap the warmth away and a blanket draped atop her to maintain any heat. It was comforting to feel any of this, it only reinforced the idea that she is alive. Amber slowly tried sitting up but a woman and a military medic's uniform gently pushed her back down.

"Headmistress Goodwitch she's awake."

The dean of Beacon took the empty spot to the side of Amber and spoke into a tablet. "She is James."

"J-Jaune... is he alright?" Her head turned but he nor his partner or father was anywhere aboard the Bullhead.

"He was taken back to Beacon. We are going to a warship." Goodwitch explained.

"One aboard I will be taking you to a secure location to properly heal. After that Atlas is going to be the safest place to keep you." Ironwood added and Amber hissed.

"No. I am not leaving, especially not now."

"This is not negotiable, you are too weak to take action in the defense of the city, and my men and the hunters in Vale are taking control of the situation as we speak. Now is the time to get you to safety."

Brown eyes lit up dangerously, the full might of the Fall Maiden coursed through her veins at that moment. A power she was more than familiar with. "Take me back to Beacon, I am not going anywhere else." Glynda flinched knowing that that power was, Amber would use it if needs be. She saw Jaune's state and wasn't about to leave without personally seeing if he was alright.

"Amber this is a serious situation that calls for more than-"

"James you still have Grimm to deal with, get back to that then we'll discuss this later." She ended the call and turned back to Amber.

"I can take you back there but won't make any promises that you'll stay..."

Amber sighed and relaxed into the stretcher, content she was not going to be forced into something then and there. "It'll do."
