Two days later, Emma and Regina were working on dinner while the boys worked on their homework. The doorbell rang and Emma went to answer the door. She found her parents on the other side.

"What are you two doing here?"

"We want to try," David said.

"We don't want to lose you or the kids," Snow added.

Emma let her parents in and was showing them to the living room when Remy walked into the hall, "mom's moving around without her cane."

Emma sighed, "she's gonna drive me insane."

"I think it's too late for that," Remy replied.

"Oh, very funny. Take your grandparents into the living room and I'll take care of your mother."

Emma left the three behind and went to the kitchen, "Regina, what the hell are you doing?"

"Working on dinner," she said.

"You are still supposed to use your cane."

"I don't need it."

"Your balance is still a bit off and if you weren't pregnant then I'd agree with you."

"Emma," Regina started to walk towards the blonde but lost her balance. She braced herself on the counter, "okay, you're right. This isn't just about me. Can you help me get onto the stool?"

Emma just nodded and helped her girlfriend. Snow walked in, "do you two need help with anything?"

Regina looked at the woman in shock, "were you the one at the door?"

"Um, yeah, me and David."

"Sorry, I was distracted when I had to parent my grown-ass girlfriend," Emma said as she glared at Regina.

"Like I've never had to parent you. Anyway, Snow, we're eating outside and if you want to you can set the table."

"That's fine with me."

Emma noticed Regina squirm and wince. She walked over and started massaging the woman's back in the right spot. The pregnancy wasn't really hurting her back yet. After all, she was only three months along. No, her back was sore from being in bed and unable to move for so long. "Thank you, dear," Regina said. Emma placed a kiss on Regina's temple and went back to her task. Snow smiled at the sight and realized that this is where her daughter belonged.

The four adults all apologized to one another and made a pact to try harder to get along with one another. After dinner, Snow and Emma were clearing the table. They had offered to clean up so Regina could rest. "David, could you give me a hand?" Regina asked.

"Sure," David walked over and helped the woman to her feet. She tightened her grip when he tried to move away.

"Sorry," she said, "I think I need a bit more help." Regina grabbed her cane and David helped her inside.

Emma saw that something wasn't right with Regina when she and David walked in, but she had to choose her words carefully. "Honey, do you need anything?"

"I think I'm alright for now."

David helped Regina settle on the couch, "should we call a doctor?"

"No, I just did too much today. Just don't tell Emma. I don't need another lecture."

"I have a feeling she already knows."

"Probably, but she doesn't need to hear me say it. Plus, I don't need to hear her say 'I told you so.'"

David sat in a chair near the couch, "are you two going to find out the gender?"

"I'd like to so I can decorate the nursery. Emma goes back and forth. She did with Remy too."

"I never did thank you for giving Emma and Henry shelter when they needed it the most. She probably would have had to give him up if you hadn't."

"You don't have to thank me. It was the best decision I've ever made in my life."

"When the boys were staying with me, they'd tell stories about living with the two of you."

"Oh great," Regina rolled her eyes.

"No, they were good stories. It made them laugh and smile."

"I really hope things work out this time around."

"I bet they do."

Snow and Emma joined the two after they had finished cleaning. The four talked for a bit before David and Snow left. "What did you and my dad talk about?"

"Family," Regina answered honestly, "I guess the boys told them funny stories about living with us."

Emma laughed, "they have led an interesting life." Suddenly there was a knock at the door, "I'll get it." Emma opened the front door to find an unexpected guest, "how did you get here?"

"I have my ways."

"Emma! Who's at the door?" Regina asked as she carefully made her way into view. The woman was utterly stunned, "mother? What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to see you. Your bodyguard is a bit hesitant to let me in."

"She's very protective of me. I suppose you can come in for a minute, but Emma stays."

Cora climbed the steps and Emma followed. The blonde took Regina by the arm and the two led Cora to the living room. "Are you going to tell me what happened to you?"

Regina put her hand on Emma's leg to stop her from snapping at Cora. "Gold and I placed a spell on the portal to kill anyone who tried to go through it. I changed my mind and absorbed the spell. The spell went to my heart and Emma saved me. I'm just getting my strength back."

Henry and Remy walked in, "mom...um, we were wondering if we could have a snack?" Henry asked. He was confused about the other woman in the room.

"Yeah, you can take it to your room," Emma said.

"Thanks," Remy told his mom.

"Who were those boys?" Cora asked.

"Our sons," Regina answered.

"Which is yours?"

"Both, they are both mine and Emma's."

"I don't understand."

"Emma and I are in a relationship. I gave birth to Remy and Emma gave birth to Henry."

Without saying a word, Cora stood and left the house. "I didn't like her this time either," Emma said and looked at Regina. "Hey, what's wrong?"

"She's up to something. You and the boys should leave town until she's gone."

"What? I can't leave you right now."

"Her leaving like that is not a good sign."

"Regina, it's all going to be okay. Just relax, honey."

Regina couldn't relax because she knew her mother. The woman ripped Regina's fiance's heart out right in front of her. She killed Snow's mother so Regina would be queen. There wasn't anything Cora wouldn't do to get her way.
