Emma, Remy, and Henry spent three days talking to residents of Storybrooke to try and figure out the curse.

"I don't know how we're supposed to fix this when everyone is missing an entire year," Emma said.

"I bet mom could help."

"Yeah and I'm pretty sure she's been here this whole time."

"Why would grandma and grandpa lie?" Remy asked.

"Maybe there's something your mom needs time to prepare to tell us," Emma suggested, "we'll never know unless we find her."

"Let's go to her house," Henry said.

Emma, Remy, and Henry rang the doorbell at Regina's. They were surprised when Snow answered the door.

"Emma, kids, what a nice surprise." Snow looked nervous about their presence.

"Mom, what are you doing here?"

"I guess you don't know. I thought someone would have told you by now."

"Told me what?"

"Is my mom okay?" Henry asked a bit panicked.

"She's fine, but while you were all gone," Snow paused, "Regina had a stroke."

"What?" Emma and the boys were in shock.

"She's doing much better but David and I have been staying with her ever since. She can't really be alone."

"Mom, will you take the kids to Granny's for now?"

"Sure," she answered.

"What? We want to see mom," Remy said.

"I need to make sure that she's okay with you seeing her," Emma explained. The kids reluctantly left with their grandmother. Emma entered the house. She walked up the steps and into the living room. Sitting on the couch was a much thinner Regina with a walker next to her.

Regina looked up and was surprised by who was standing in her living room, "Emma," she said softly.

"Don't worry," Emma said, "I sent the kids with my mom to Granny's for a while. I told them I had to talk to you first to make sure you were okay with him seeing you."

"Thank you," she said softly and gestured for the young woman to sit next to her.

"My mom told us," Emma said as she sat, "how are you doing?"

"I'm alive."

"Now I know why we haven't seen you since we've been back."

"I don't get out much."

"The kids really want to see you."

"I want to see them more than anything, but I don't want them to feel the need to take care of me."

"They will whether they see you or not. So, what is going on with your body? I'm gonna need to know since I'm staying here."

Regina smiled slightly, "the left side of my body is still quite weak. I can't climb stairs or really do anything on my own." Regina hesitated before asking her next question, "Odette is 2 now, right?"

"Yeah," Emma smiled.

"What's she like?"

"Outgoing, silly, loving, smart," Emma said, "she's very happy and a great kid."

"It's been so painful to be away from her. From all of you."

"We're all here now."

"She probably won't remember me."

"You didn't take away her memories."

"I didn't think she would have any."

"There's only one way to find out."

"Yeah," Regina said nervously.

"Regina, I need to tell you something. I didn't tell you when I left because I didn't want to upset you."

"What is it?"

"I was pregnant when we left."

Regina was in a state of shock, "you, you had another baby?"

"A girl," Emma smiled, "her name is Faline Regina."

"How could you have named her after me if you didn't remember me?"

"Before we left, I wrote your name on a piece of paper and slipped it in my pocket. I didn't remember why, but I figured it was for the baby."

"How old is she?"

"She's a year old."

"Is her last name Swan?"

"It's Mills."

"What?"

"When you gave us new memories apparently that included identities. We had the last name Mills when we arrived in New York."

"I didn't even know I did that."

"I'm glad you did. Why don't we go sit in the backyard?"

"Will you tell Snow to bring the kids back?"

"I already did."

Regina moved her walker so she could stand. Emma saw the woman's body begin to shake as she started to rise so she placed one arm around Regina's waist and the other gripped her elbow. "Thank you," she breathed out.
