David helped Regina down the steps of her vault, "are you going to tell me what we're doing?"

"I need to get a heart."

"Wait, what?"

"Really? You didn't understand that?"

"Why do you still have hearts?"

"I can't just release them to return to their bodies. All but one are back in the Enchanted Forest."

"We lived there for a year!"

"I was a bit busy trying to get rid of Zelena and get us back here."

"Okay," David sighed, "why do you need a heart?"

"I gave Neal a bit of advice before going up against Zelena. The same advice my mother gave me."

"Which is?"

"Never take your heart to a battle." Regina pulled a box out of her vault and opened it. Inside was a beating, healthy, red heart.

"Is that?"

"Yes, this is Neal's. He told me to protect it until I felt it was safe to return it to him."

"He's buried and I doubt it will look normal to see you digging him up. Although you'd probably have me do it."

"I shouldn't be digging in my condition. Besides, he wasn't buried. Can you carry this for me?" David took the box and followed Regina to the end of a hall. She waved her hand and a doorway appeared. David followed her through and what he saw made a chill run down his spine. Neal was in a glass coffin just like Snow was in the Enchanted Forest. Regina turned and saw the look on David's face. She looked at what he was looking at and turned back to him. "I'm so sorry. I didn't think about...well I guess I never think."

"It's okay," David whispered, "it was just a shock."

"You can place the box on the table against that wall. I'm sorry but I am going to need your help with a lot of this. Could you lift the lid for me and then bring me the box?"

David walked over and opened the coffin. Regina grabbed onto the edge to steady herself. David brought the box back over and took Regina's cane so she could get the heart. He noticed that she realized there was a problem. "Is there a way to take the lid off completely?"

"No, and I can't reach where the heart goes. If I weren't like this then I would be fine."

"Would I be able to put it back?"

"Yeah, give me your hand," David did and Regina took it in hers. She gave David a bit of her magic and then the heart. David moved to where he could reach and returned Neal's heart to him."

"Thank you," Regina said.

"Hey, it's no trouble."

Neal gasped and sat up. He looked at Regina and David, "okay, so which one of you is my true love?" he joked, "no offense Regina, but I kind of hope it's David."

The two laughed, "how does your heart feel?" Regina asked.

"Great, thanks for protecting it and returning it to me."

"Technically, David put it back. I put you in there the wrong way and couldn't reach."

"Bummer," he continued to joke.

"Would you like to go meet your new son?" Regina asked.

"Wait, who'd I get pregnant?"

"Um, Emma," she answered.

"Oh, that worked? Huh, I didn't know. That's okay, Regina. He's your son."

"No, he's our son."

"Are you sure that you're okay with this?"

"I wouldn't be here if I wasn't."

Neal hopped out of the coffin and led the way out of the vault. David and Regina went into Emma's room first. Henry, Remy, Odette, and Faline were there now too. "So, are you going to tell me about this errand?" Emma asked.

"No, I'm going to show you."

Regina opened the door and Neal walked in. Henry and Faline ran to their father. "We thought you were dead," Henry said.

"Nah, I had your mom protect my heart. She and your grandpa gave it back just now. I hear you have a new brother."

"Oliver David Mills," Henry said.

"May I?" Neal asked Emma who was still in shock along with her mother. The blonde just nodded. Neal walked over and picked up the baby. The two bonded instantly. Neal felt a tug on his pants and looked down to find Odette, "hey, princess."

"Me and Wemy want you be our daddy gen," she said.

Neal was taken aback and looked at both Regina and Emma. He didn't want to say the wrong thing. Both women gave him a look of approval. "Well, I was kind of your dad in New York. I'd love to be your dad again. I'm gonna need to get a job cus with the five of you and Regina expecting another, I'm gonna be up to my ears in child support."

Emma and Regina laughed, "it's great to have you back, Neal," Emma said.

"It great to be back." Neal thought for a moment, "I guess I better go see my dad but maybe later. I'm still diggin these kids and this little guy."

Remy hadn't cared about having two moms and not a mom and a dad. When Neal came into Henry's life then he wanted what he didn't have. He never asked about his birth father because one time he heard his mom cry to his mama about him. The kids hated seeing their moms upset and tried to avoid causing any pain or hurt. Remy started hanging out with Henry and Neal which brought them all closer. Then in New York, everyone thought Neal was the father of Remy and Odette as well as Henry and Faline. Regina did that to give them another parent in her place. The kids did just fine with their moms before Neal and would have been fine if he had never shown up. After they met Neal while Regina was pregnant with Odette, they wanted him to stay around.
