"This is dumb."
"You keep saying that like it means something to me."
Sam Winchester shook his head at his brother's antics, but did nothing to stop him from hoisting the bucket of paint above the school doors.
"You're going to get in trouble," he warned as Dean carefully set the trap.
"That's the whole point, Sammy!" Dean said enthusiastically, throwing an arm around his little brother's shoulders and admiring his handy work. "Chicks love a rebel, and this is definitely going to get me an in with Adalyn. She got caught smoking in the changing room earlier. We're gonna have a whole hour in detention get to know each other."
"Do you know the difference between a rebel and a delinquent?"
"Shut up and watch, little bro."
Sam did watch, albeit loudly trying to warn some freshmen from trying to open the doors. But it was no use as they had already triggered the trap, splattering themselves and their textbooks in heaps of blue and yellow paint. Sam stared mournfully down at his black running shoes, now painted with bright flecks. Beside him, Dean was doubled over in laughter.
"Mr. Winchester!"
Both boys turned to find the principal, Mr. McCormic, storming down the hall in their direction. Sam backed up, flattening himself against the wall to get out of his way, but Dean stood his ground, wiping tears from his eyes.
"Mr. Winchester, I take it we have you to thank for this colorful practical joke, is that right?"
"Ha, good one, sir. Yeah, this is all my doing. I thought you'd appreciate that I used the school colors." Dean winked at Sam. "So, should I head to 201 after lunch?"
"No, you can go to the library. I recall Ms. Parsons saying she needed some help sorting shelves. It should only take you one week to get it done, but we'll see where you're at on Friday."
Sam stifled a chuckled at the crestfallen look on his brother's face. This was almost worth the paint on his shoes.
