"You had to add the extra tongue of newt, didn't you?" Freddy said, his voice comically nasally. Roxanne struggled to keep a straight face.
"We got a great explosion, though. It looked great!" she insisted
"Oh yeah. It was great right up until the cauldron hit me in the face and broke my nose." The sixteen-year-old dramatically conjured a mirror to examine the damage to his features.
Roxanne snorted. "Yeah, okay. So maybe we can just add a little extra next time."
"There's not going to be a next time if I can't breathe, Roxy. Mum's going to kill you if she finds out about this, and then I'm going to have to come up with something for our spring line myself."
"Dad wouldn't make you do it along. He's always insisted we work things out together."
"Exactly my point. Do you want me to get stuck with Old Herman? He probably couldn't tell the difference between a Puking Pastille and a Canary Cream."
"Ugh, fine. Let's get on with it then." Freddy braced himself as his sister pulled out her wand.
"Episkey."
With a loud crack and a gasp of pain, the boy's nose straightened out. Roxanne cocked her head, studying her brother as he once more reached for the mirror. "You looked better with it broken, I think."
"What's your excuse then? No one broke your nose."
"You say that like I did it on purpose."
"Shove it."
"Is that how you thank me for my hard work?" She feigned insult, a smile playing on her lips. "What will Mum say about your lack of manners?"
"Bite me," Freddy said with a smile.
Beyond the doors of the Weasley Wizard Wheeze's testing chambers, George Weasley listened to his children's banter and smiled, reminded of days lost to him many years ago.
