A/N: Who's ready for big sister?

Everyone stared at the newcomer, another human in the Demon Realm, unexpected, though in hindsight, should have been planned for. Merging both worlds did mean that anything on one side could go through to the other, after all, yet they hadn't planned for anyone to assault them from behind.

The woman, Lucia Noceda, stood tall, ready to defend her sister, her flesh and blood, from anyone in the room who dared prove to be an enemy, her baseball bat at the ready. She wasn't sure who was friend or foe here, seeing all of these faces for the first time.

Luz watched in awe as a few others joined her sister at her side. She recognized Amelia as the pointy earred girl, and to her astonishment, she had rings of light at her fingers, a spell ready to fire signifying that she was a witch. Luz had to stifle all her questions about how she ended up in the Human Realm for later, but was immediately filled with a bunch more when an exact copy of herself, with a different set of clothes, joined Lucia and Amelia as well.

Standing awkwardly to the side of them was a demon she recognized as the Snaggleback, who had a sack full of candy in his hands, looking like he desperately just wanted to squeeze through the crowd and get back to wherever he called home.

The fight at a standstill, Luz realized her sister had very little idea what was going on. "Hit anyone in a white cloak as hard as you can, and we need to destroy that portal, no matter what." She said quickly, remembering Eda's words about them not sticking around to fight once their objective was complete.

"But we need that to get home," Lucia insisted, not taking her eyes off of her now identified targets.

"Trust me, if we don't destroy it, we won't have a home to return to. I've got another way back in the works." Luz flashed her sister a thumbs up, and really, how could Lucia say no to that?

Lucia frowned, but begrudgingly nodded, "You heard her, Amelia. Light it up."

The Bane girl leveled her hands at the portal, ready to fire a spell, but that's when Hunter stepped in, recovering from his momentary shock to have let his guard slip enough to allow more opponents in from behind him, and using his staff to swat at the girl and forcing her to dodge. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he couldn't afford to let them destroy the portal.

"Sorry, but to get to that, you'll have to get through m-"

The Golden Guard was silenced by the butt of a baseball bat slamming into his gut, and he crumpled like wet cardboard, gasping for air. With the scrawny guy out of the way, Amelia raised her hands again, and with her shot fired off a blast of flames aimed for the ring.

Only for what to come out of her spell circle to be less a fireball and more an explosion with enough force that the recoil sent her flying backwards, colliding with Lucia and sending them both to the floor. The sheer noise of the explosion rattled everyone's eardrums, many of the combatants dropping their own fights to cover their ears in pain.

The fireballs consumed everything in its path, not just destroying the ring around the portal, but the door at its center, reducing it to nothing but ashes, and even the stone wall behind it was collapsed and scorched, with the wall behind that one charred as well.

Eda let out a sharp whistle after she regained her hearing, admiring the handiwork, "I'm not sure what you were trying to accomplish there, but damn if it didn't impress."

Everyone looked at the Owl Lady, who just looked back at everyone else, before barking out to her team, "Well, what are you guys standing around for, we did what we needed, scatter!"

Just like that, everyone in the Bad Girl Coven regained their senses, pulling themselves to their feet and running for every available exit, from the entrance they descended from at the start of the battle to the new hole in the back of the wall that the new witch had just made.

As quick as they were to recover however, it wasn't fast enough, as the Coven leaders also caught their second wind, most of them undefeated in their battles and still able to fight. With nothing left to lose, they prepared to fight with vigor, trying to keep their enemies around long enough to defeat, or at least take them down with them.

Willow, tired of constantly being put into stone cells, took the opportunity to wreck house, sending her plants directly under the floor to break through the tiles as both an attack, and a distraction. With that in place, she managed to get to Gus quickly enough to snatch him by the collar and drag him through the still smoking hole in the wall.

Emira and Edric took a moment to make faces and plenty of rude gestures at the Emperor and his cohorts, then vanished in a puff of smoke, disappearing with the help of an invisibility spell. Even their chosen escape route didn't seem obvious.

Lilith and Hooty disengaged from fighting Belos beside Eda, instead focusing on getting Raine and The BATs free from their own fights. Hooty swept through the battle, knocking Maxwell on his back, while Lilith fired off enough spells with her staff to get Curie on the ropes, and together she and the BATs ascended up the stairs, promising to meet the others back at the Owl House.

Amity wasn't going anywhere without Luz, and King wasn't leaving without Eda, so the two converged onto that location, Amity on top of her new Abomiton's shoulder, ready to fight if she needed, while King scrambled up Eda's leg and into her hair once more.

Unfortunately, said position was in the center of the room, and the Clawthornes, Noceda's, Bane, Blight and Changeling found themselves surrounded on all sides, with a very angry Belos looking about ready to tear into them. "You seem to be out of friends to come to your rescue, this time."

Luz gulped, and gripped her staff, settling in closer to her sister. Despite her lack of magic, Luz felt safer knowing Lucia was there, just like she'd always been at school. The older Noceda kept her bat raised, "I'm still new here, are we supposed to be afraid of a dork with antlers on his head? Because it's not working for me, sorry."

Belos ignored the jab, and leveled his staff at them, the red gem glowing and prepared to fire. Eda prepared to cast a shield spell with Owlbert's help, but wasn't sure she'd be able to make one large enough to cover them all. Amity had her Abomiton get into a defensive position, crouching in front of the others to shield them, but without knowing what was about to be cast, she had no way of properly defending against it.

Only for none of their preparations to matter, as another technological based staff to meet Belos', swiping it out of the way just as it fired, the blast redirected towards the ceiling. The room shook as yet another portion was destroyed, and as the Emperor tried to regain his balance, he seethed, "Hunter!"

"There isn't a point to fighting anymore, Uncle. They're retreating. We've lost." Hunter tried, knowing that people were going to die on both sides if this continued and wanting to avoid the pointless casualties. However, Belos wasn't in a very listening mood and swatted him aside.

Hunter tightened his grip on his staff as his Uncle ignored and strode past him, preparing another blow. He steeled himself for what he was about to do, and acted, casting a wall of energy between Belos and the others to protect them. "Go! Get out of here!"

Luz opened her mouth to protest, but Hunter wasn't having it, "Save you damn friendship speeches, and get the hell out while I can still hold them back!" He barked. While Luz looked torn, Eda and Lucia did not, grabbing Luz by either arm and hauling her through the broken down wall as she screamed for him.

Amity was the last to retreat, giving him a solemn nod before having her Abomiton take her through after her friends.

Hunter straightened his back, putting himself between the exit and his once allies. They all seemed to have no idea what to do to him, waiting for Belos' orders. But they never came, as Belos himself decided to deal with this insubordination.

Despite still being fresh, not having fought any battles himself, Hunter found he was no match for his uncle, in all of his rage. The Emperor didn't bother with magic for anything other than assisting his movement, instead slamming his staff into Hunter like a club, if he wasn't relying on his fists. Gone was the feeble old man, cursed to turn into mud, replaced with a ferocious beast who felt it had lost everything, and intended to make that fact known.

Hunter fought as best as he could, teleporting around the room, and casting as much magic as he was capable of, his goal not to harm his Uncle, but just to buy the others time to escape pursuit. At some point his Golden Guard mask was shattered, likely when his face was enthusiastically introduced to Belos' knee. When his Uncle got tired of his games, he ripped the staff out of Hunter's hands, and shattered the head of the scepter against the ground with a level of strength that made it appear like it had been made of glass, instead of metal and crystal.

At this point, Hunter was forced to rely on forbidden knowledge if he even wanted to make it out alive, pulling a stack of glyphs he had kept inside of his tunic for emergencies, and placing them on the floor. This only angered the Emperor further, the level of Hunter's betrayal going deeper than he'd believed.

Belos made it known why he'd been a feared tyrant for the last fifty years in this fight, dodging the plants, ice and fire his nephew sent his way until Hunter lay panting and bruised at his feet. Belos looked down at his nephew, his free hand held out and aimed at his head, ready to turn into an earthen spike and impale him.

Hunter looked up at him, waiting for the blow. He couldn't see his Uncle's eyes behind the mask, but for a moment he thought he saw some hesitation in the emperor. He must have been right, for instead of the sweet release of death, he was met with a single worded question. "Why?"

In only one word, Hunter could hear the frustration that plagued his Uncle. The sorrow that he had to do this to his own kin, that he would have to put him down for his disloyalty. Despite that, Hunter couldn't help but smile, the prominent gap in his front teeth showing. "It's not you, Uncle, if that's what you're thinking. I'm far to loyal to betray you on any whim. But if they stuck around, they could have killed you."

He coughed, then spit up a bit of blood, "and I just care too much for my friends to let you kill them, either. So it was either them, or me. And I made my choice."

Hunter watched his Uncle's hand shake, in rage or sadness or pity, he couldn't say. Then the fist clenched in resolve, and Hunter closed his eyes, waiting for the blow, and the embrace of death that would follow.

And the blow came, but not from Belos. Hunter found the wind knocked out of him for a second time as he was carried through the air, and instinctively his hand clenched tightly around a handle. A Staff.

With a loud caw, he realized to his wonderment that it was Rascal who had saved him, colliding into him from the side, scooping him upwards and onto him, and zooming around the room.

Hunter gripped onto the staff as tightly as he could as his Palisman guided him, sailing through the air and over the coven member who could only watch as he shot through the doorway and up the steps, and out of their reach before any of them could come to their senses and stop him.

The last thing Hunter saw before he lost consciousness was his Uncles' masked face, watching him forlornly as he departed.

Belos stood trembling in the chamber that was once supposed to house his greatest achievement. Hunter was gone. The battle was lost. His forces were beaten.

Kikimora was still out, unconscious since the start of the fight. She'd be pleased to hear she was receiving a promotion when she awoke, at least. Nastrodominik seemed to have gotten a handle on his familiar, entrapping it into another crystal ball. Slate and Ivy seemed no worse for wear, and Curie and Maxwell's injuries were minor, mostly consisting of acidic burns from the former's potions.

Darius was in pieces, though slowly reforming. He at the very least seemed to have regained consciousness, just in time to realize they had snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Eberwolf seemed the worse for wear, having taken blunt trauma to the ribs hard enough to likely break a few bones, but even they were up on their feet and limping to be beside their Emperor.

An eerie quiet fell over the group, their loss still sinking in. Finally, one of them decided to break the silence.

"I know we're the only side to technically lose someone, and we lost the portal, but really, I like to think this was more of a draw at the end of the day." Eberwolf said with faux cheerfulness in their voice.

All eyes turned to the diminutive Beast Keeper, even Belos seemed surprised. Eberwolf just eyed them all back innocently. A loud groan of annoyance came from Darius' half formed mouth, and he bared his teeth as he bellowed, "You mean to tell me you could talk this whole time?!"

Eberwolf kicked their little foot against the ground, a mischievous grin on their face that showed off an impressive display of teeth. "Yeah, I know, ain't I a stinker?"

Back at the Owl House, a celebration was underway. They had stopped the day of Unity. Eda broke out the appleblood, pouring a glass for the adults, while Lilith scolded her about drinking in front of the children and scrounged up a bottle of nonalcoholic for herself and those that were underaged.

The BATs were together, arms around each other's shoulders, singing a victory hymn, oddly off tune for a group of Bards. Even Raine had joined in, despite their voice still being rough and raspy, and their embarrassment over doing it in front of everyone.

Luz was busy trying to introduce Lucia to everyone, with the older girl trying to take in everyone's names and how they knew her sister. "Okay, so, these are my friends, Gus and Willow, say hi guys!"

Willow gave a wave, "it's a pleasure to meet you!"

Gus was far more enthusiastic, grabbing Lucia by the hand and giving it plenty of pumps in an energetic handshake, "I have so many questions! Luz could only answer so many, but you're older, and more learned. Is it alright if I ask you about the human world?"

Lucia was a bit put off, but shrugged. Any friend of Luz was a friend of hers, "yeah, sure, go ahead."

"How do toilets work in the human realm?" Gus asked excitedly.

"Uh, on second thought, how about we save those questions for later." Lucia tried to hide her grimace, a little weirded out but such an inquiry. "Introduce me to someone else, Luz. Literally anyone."

"Right!" Luz chirped, pointing towards the owner of the household, "That's Eda, the Owl Lady. She was my magic teacher for a bit, but now I'm teaching her how to use glyphs, which is how I use magic. She kinda lost hers."

Luz frowned, then tried to force a smile, "She's been a really good caretaker. Sorta like a second mom, while I've been here. It wasn't a very good day when she lost her magic."

Lucia nodded, not pressing further, but added the Owl Lady to a mental list of people to be nice to at all costs. Next Luz pointed to Raine, "That's Raine Whispers. They're kinda new to me, so I don't know a whole lot. They're a bard, and also Eda's ex, but I think there's still something there, which I'm happy for, but also kinda disappointed…" She rambled, then realized she might have said too much.

Lucia crossed her arms, "Luz, what did I tell you about shipping real people together?"

"I can't help it! And I just said she was like a second mom to me," Luz pouted, not wanting to meet Lucia's eyes.

"That doesn't mean you can try to hook her up with our actual Mom, Luz. Besides, I'm pretty sure Mom is straight."

"You also thought you were straight," Luz pointed out, then pointed to Amelia who was sitting quietly beside Lucia, "And instead it looks like you went and got a girlfriend while I was away."

Luz then sighed, seemingly giving up, "But fine, you do have a point… well, maybe. Eda does have two hands…"

"You're not setting up Mom in a polygamous relationship with two witches, Luz, and that's final." Lucia put her foot down.

"Thorns! Fine," Luz sulked, then tried to move on, "The group with Raine are the Bards against the Throne-"

"The BATS!" The three hissed, striking cutesy poses that immediately had Lucia filing them away as eccentric weirdos. The acronym at least helped explain the masks they all had. She was beginning to think that there was just a very odd Batman role play going on here for a moment.

"And this is Hecate! She's my Palisman, a pal, who's a talisman!" Luz practically shoved her staff in her sister's face, the Winged Serpent doing a little snake blep with her tongue in greeting. Lucia carefully reached out and patted the top of Hecate's head, worried for a moment that she might bite, but calmed as the snake leaned into her touch.

"And who are they and why are they staring at me like that?" Amelia interrupted, gesturing with her head across the room to the Blights, Ed, Em, and Amity, who were huddled in a corner whispering, and were in fact shooting Amelia look from time to time. Not that Amelia had any right to say anything, she hadn't torn her own eyes off the group since they'd arrived at the Owl House.

Luz glanced over to them, "oh, that's the Blight family. The older ones are Edric, and Emira. Then the one with the pink hair is-" She gestured for said girl to join them over, and after a moment's hesitation, she did so, a blush and a smile creeping up on her face.

"This is Amity Blight, my girlfriend!" Luz introduced, pulling a bit of confetti out of her pocket and tossing it over the girl, who grinned at the fanfare.

Lucia nearly spit out her drink in surprise, "Wait, what?!"

Luz looked positively giddy, bouncing on her heels, "I know, right? Isn't she just so cute? Amity is smart, and kind, and so pretty and-"

"Luz, you're embarrassing me," Amity said bashfully, her face as red as a tomato, but still looking incredibly pleased with the compliments.

"No I'm not!" Luz insisted, then latched onto her, pressing a big, noisy, sloppy kiss on her girlfriend's cheek, "Now I am!"

She wrapped her arm around Amity's shoulder, bringing her close, then turned back to her older sister and said seriously, "I love this girl, so be nice to her, okay?"

Lucia snorted, watching the pink haired girl practically melt under all the affection. She gave a nod of approval, "Fine, I'll be nice. Treat my sister well, okay? Or I'll have to hurt you."

"Still doesn't answer why they're staring at me," Amelia muttered, leaning against her own girlfriend for a sense of comfort. Lucia reached out and grabbed her hand.

"Maybe they're someone who recognizes you?" She suggested, "family maybe?"

Amelia didn't get a chance to comment on that, as that's when the Blight twins decided they were tired of their corner gossip, and wanted to join their little sister. They approached meekly, expressions of disbelief painted on their faces, and looking entirely like they had no idea what to say for once.

They passed by Amity and Luz, who moved aside to give them room. Em wrung her hands nervously, then opened her mouth to ask something, only for her brother to cut her off, "Are you Emily?"

His sister smacked him with her arm, "Ed, you can't just ask that up front!" She hissed.

He paid Em no mind, and kept talking, trying not to trip over his words, "It's just, we lost our sister so long ago, and- well, there's certainly a resemblance… and everything."

Lucia eyed Amelia, who looked like she had trouble breathing. She gently elbowed the girl, trying to bring her to the present, and out of her emotional bubble, and the Bane girl quickly spat out, "Amelia. I'm Amelia."

At the downturned expressions on the twins' faces, she quickly added, "But I could be- I could be Emily, too. I- I think I might have been. Strong, uh, family resemblances, and all."

Em's lips formed a tight smile, trying to mask her own emotional state. "Would you- would you like to join us for a brief talk, outside? We'd love to catch up." She choked out.

Amelia stared slack jawed for a moment, before giving the briefest of nods, "yeah, that sounds- lets go."

Ed and Em offered their hands at once, and Amelia took them both, rising from her chair. The three reunited triplets then left out the front door, ready to talk for the first time in over a decade.

"Out of everything I expected to happen today, a family reunion was not one of them," Luz said in awe, squeezing Amity's hand. "Did you want to go with them? She's your sister, too."

Amity shook her head, "I'll catch up with them later. I was too young to remember her, and… this is a special moment between them."

The empty seat beside Lucia was quickly filled by a hairball barreling into Lucia's side, then scrambling into her lap, "A bigger Luz! You'll give even better belly rubs, right?"

Luz laughed, "King, that isn't a bigger me, that's my big sister, Lucia."

Lucia petted the small demon, earning a small, puppy-like leg kick as she scratched his sweet spot, "I don't care what she's called, she's gotta stay here with us forever if she's this good."

"That's not happening, you small, talking, bone headed dog," Lucia growled, but found herself unable to stop giving the adorable monstrosity the attention he craved.

King finally settled in, satisfied with his treatment, then turned his attention back to Luz, "Hey, wait, if she's not a bigger you, then who's the other Luz?" He pointed off towards the steps, where Vee was sitting and waiting, her lack of energy making her practically invisible among all the partying going down inside the small living room.

Luz gaped, having almost forgotten about her doppelgänger. She looked questioningly at her sister, who nodded back. "I'll introduce you." She said simply, lifting the tiny King of demons off her lap, and settled him on the couch. He tried to object, but let out a yawn, and did a quick spin before settling down and immediately falling asleep despite the noise around him.

Lucia took her sister by the hand, and led her over to the stairs. They were trailed by Amity, who also wasn't sure what to make of two Luz's, but privately didn't hate the idea. Vee's head perked up as Lucia's shadow fell upon her, and the two locked eyes. "Heya, Vee. Hanging in there?"

Vee nodded, standing up from the steps, and tugging at the hem of her shirt, looking nervous, "I'm fine. Just a little loud in here," She fibbed, clearly not entirely comfortable with being around Luz yet.

The irony of her feeling replaced wasn't lost on Vee, but it was a new experience. Lucia had her actual sister back now, and didn't have any more use for Vee anymore. So she stood awkwardly, wondering what to do.

Lucia took a step back, joining Amity as she watched the two identical Luz's stare at each other. If not for the clothing, they'd be so identical you could shuffle them together and not be able to tell who was who anymore. Inside, Lucia gave a silent plea for one of them to say something, to break the silence, and to get along.

Then Vee opened her mouth. For a moment, it looked like she was going to say something. Instead, for some absurd reason, she started to sing. The words were wobbly, sung without the same enthusiasm Luz liked to back her lyrics with, even when she was embarrassed.

"I think I'm a clone now

There's always two of me just a-hanging around…"

Luz's expression morphed into one of pure joy as she recognized the song, and she joined in, the two singing together in a chorus of identical voices.

"I think I'm a clone now

'Cause every chromosome is a hand-me-down!"

Luz threw her arms around the Changeling, laughing her little heart out, "I have a twin sister, and she likes Weird Al, too? This is the best day ever!"

Vee giggled as well, burying her face into Luz's neck and squeezing the girl back just as tightly. It was an entirely new experience, being able to hug the person you'd replaced, but it felt very nice to do so.

Luz shot her older sister a glance, and suddenly became extremely protective over Vee, tightening her embrace. "We get to keep her, right?"

Lucia belted out a laugh, "I'd like to, but that's really up to Mom, and Vee. I'm really not looking forward to explaining all of this to her, though." She rubbed the back of her head, wondering just how her Mom would take the news.

"You, uh, don't have to worry about that. She kinda found out." Vee admitted sheepishly. "There wasn't exactly a lot of time to explain before we had to show up, but with a big stable portal opened, Mom's phone blew up and-"

Luz paled, "Dios mio, my videos got through. How did she handle it?"

Vee looked away guiltily, "I didn't stick around long enough to really know. She seemed pretty freaked out though."

"Damn," Lucia muttered, "That puts us in a bad spot. Speaking of portals-"

She turned to Luz, "You had us blow our only way back home. You said something about making your own way back?"

Luz nodded, "I have a book and everything. Or, had a book. An echo mouse ate it, and now it's more like an instructional video, it's a whole thing. I'm close to getting everything I need, so don't worry, we'll be back in… I dunno, a few weeks, maybe?"

Lucia facepalmed, and if Luz wasn't still pinning Vee's arms to her side, never having let go of her, Vee would have as well. "So we're stuck here for the foreseeable future?"

"I don't really think it's that bad…" Amity added in, not having wanted to butt in before now, and still being more than a little confused as to how there was another Luz that her girlfriend still hadn't questioned outside of "can we keep her?"

"That's because us being stuck here means you get to Mack on my little sister some more," Lucia growled, stuffing her hands in her pockets, her comment earning a "meep" from Amity. "Great. Mom is going to never let us leave the house again when we do get back."

"Come on, Lucy, it's not that bad," Luz insisted, just as Amelia burst through the door, followed by the twins dragging in a familiar blond haired young man.

"This is bad!"

They laid Hunter's unconscious body onto the couch, as Amelia tried her best to explain what had happened. "Me and my… siblings we're catching up, getting to know one another, and then this guy just falls right out of the sky in a nosedive, and plants right into the dirt."

Ed poked at his body, earning a rage filled tweet from Rascal, who was perched on Hunter's head protectively. "Are we even sure he's alive?" He asked, doubtfully.

"He is," Eda assured. "You can see his chest rising, so he's breathing at least."

Luz breathed a sigh of relief, then reached out and pet Rascal on the head, "There you are, little guy. I was looking for you before, but you must have stuck around to watch over your buddy, huh?"

Rascal chirped, fluttering his wings at Luz. "Don't you worry, we'll take care of him," Luz promised, whistling for Hecate to join Rascal in keeping watch over the magicless witch.

Lilith sighed, "I'll go get the healing kit."

While everyone was scurrying around, their celebrations put on hold so they could take care of their new patient, Lucia saw Amelia slip out the back door. She gave Luz's hair a bit of a ruffle, and told her to hang tight, and went after Amelia, following her girlfriend outside.

It didn't take a genius to see that Amelia was feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything that was going on, which made Lucia feel extra stupid when the question that spilled from her lips was "Are you doing okay?"

Amelia snorted, Lucia chuckled along with her, and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, "Sorry, dumb question. But really, how are you holding up?"

Amelia swiped at her face, eyes a bit misty, "It's a lot. Hasn't even been a day, and I've reunited with my lost family, and find out I have three siblings. I have parents who mourned me. Edric and Emira… they tell me they're not exactly great parents, but they still clearly loved me enough to hurt when I was gone."

Amelia kicked at a random stone at her feet, sending it rolling and tumbling off the cliff side and into the boiling ocean. "They apparently have a shrine to me in my old room. How sad is that?"

She chuckled humorlessly, "Oh, I also found out I'm almost a year younger than I thought I was. I'm sixteen going on seventeen. So there's that to add to the list."

Lucia pressed a kiss to Amelia's temple, "Well, I always did like younger women." She joked, hoping to relieve her girlfriend of some of her tension.

"You liar. I saw you eying that bird woman-"

"Owl Lady" Lucia corrected.

"See, you totally got the hots for her." Amelia shoved Lucia aside, a smile back on her face, and Lucia knew it was mission accomplished.

"Well, only when she was covered in feathers. That just happened to awaken something in me, not my fault." Lucia leaned against her taller girlfriend's side, resting her head against her shoulder.

The two stayed in silence for a moment, until Amelia hummed, "There's also this place. My home. Ever since we got here I feel… I dunno. Full? That doesn't sound right, it's not about food. Stretched, maybe?"

"You're running on a full tank for the first time in your life," a voice said behind them, making the two flinch in surprise. Turning around, they were met by Vee, though it took a moment for Lucia to realize that wasn't just Luz. They needed to give the new set of twins name tags or something.

Vee, seeing their faces, elaborated. "You've been running on fumes, Amelia. Scraps of magic that came over from here. And you got used to it. You've been able to do so much with so little, it's really astounding, actually. So cool!"

Amelia's eyes widened in understanding, "So, back at the portal, when I blew it up? That was what, because I was supercharged or something?"

"You meant to do a normal fireball spell, and instead dropped a small bomb. And that wasn't you even really trying. That's… actually kind of scary." Vee summed up with a shrug. "You're far from the most talented witch around. When it comes to technique, you'll find yourself outclassed by most people your age-"

"But does that really matter when every spell she casts is a wrecking ball in comparison?" Lucia asked.

Amelia looked back down at her hands, flexing her fingers, "It's probably a good thing that unconscious dork helped us get away. If I'd tried anything else, I probably would have brought the room down on top of us."

Lucia crossed her arms, looked peeved, "So, my girlfriend, who already had super powers, is basically a super hero even among her already super powered people? I'm starting to feel kind of ridiculous carrying around nothing but a baseball bat when I'm next to you."

Amelia patted her arm condescendingly, "Oh, honey, you always were a little ridiculous, this doesn't change anything."

The back door opened once again, and this time when Luz's head popped out, Lucia knew it was the real Luz, "Hey, he's starting to wake up!"

The three nodded in thanks, figuring if they were going to be a part of this group of rebels, they might as well go all the way and see what kind of information this Hunter guy had.

A/N: Another scene I've had in my head for a while is Hunter's beat down and rescue from Rascal. Very satisfying to get that down onto… digital paper.

So… many… character… interactions. I sometimes regret having so many characters in a scene. I work much better with two or three at a time, which can be apparent in my edits, when I forget to include a character who should be there in the conversation, then have to reorganize to give them dialogue and a purpose for being there.

As always, I love comments, so if you like to write them I'd love to hear them!
