Chapter 14:

Light vs Darkness

Serena woke up crying. Why was she still breathing? After that attack, she should be dead. The blood, the screams and the pain were all she could think about.

"Hey Serena, we're safe," she could feel someone embracing her softly, rubbing her back as a way to calm her down. "It was only a dream."

She tried to calm herself down as her heart pounded in her chest. Where was she? Who was holding her? And why did they begin to have such a calming effect on her when everything else was deep darkness?

"Serena, you have to open your eyes and look at me," she could recognize a male voice, as it was too deep to be a female one. "I'm here with you"

Serena didn't even know her eyes were closed, which would explain the darkness. She slowly began to open her eyes, gaining strength thanks to the male voice she recognized now.

"GOKU!" her eyes were fully opened now and she saw him. She hugged him back. "I-I-!"

"It's okay. I was there too, remember?" he said, trying to reassure her. After all, his girlfriend was still shaking in fear and he couldn't blame her. "It's okay to feel fear. That was quite the dream to be part of."

"It's the first time I experienced it entirely," she said between sobs. "Most of the time they were only fragments"

"You've had this dream before?" he asked in a worried tone, remembering that she told him something quite similar at the beginning of their dream. "Why did you never tell me about it?"

"Because I mostly forget about it later. But sometimes the dream and sensations are still fresh in my mind," she sobbed quietly, feeling a bit guilty for not telling him. "And I didn't want to worry you! We already have to worry about Beryl and the arrival of the other Saiyans. My memory of my past life is the last thing we should worry about!"

"YOU'RE WRONG!" Goku snapped at her, making her see his angry expression. But he didn't break the hug. "Serena, we're a team! We must know about what's clouding our minds to help each other. Can you imagine how I feel after knowing you've been suffering because of this all by yourself? Stop taking the burden and smile when you don't feel like it! What happens to you matters to me and your friends, because we care about you as a person."

"But-"

"Serena, remember what I told you about my grandfather?" he said slowly and Serena's eyes opened in surprise as he buried his face in her shoulder. Goku always evaded the subject of his family.

"You only told me that your grandfather was killed by a monster."

"Yeah and I was that monster back then," he said into her shoulder, not wanting to look at her currently.

"Goku, what do you mean-"

"I had a monkey tail when I was a child. Well, Vegeta and I, since we're both Saiyans," he said in a calm tone and she held him tight. "That tail gave us the ability to transform into Ozarus, practically a gigantic great ape. When we're in that form our strength increases, but it takes time to master and as a kid I didn't know I could do that."

Serena stayed silent.

"Imagine my surprise one day to wake up without my tail and my friends being happy about it. It felt weird at first since I was used to my tail for most of my life, but I got over it. Until I fought with Vegeta for the first time," his voice was still calm, but Serena knew how much it was taking out of him to tell her this, so she waited for him to continue. "We fought during the sunset. I was barely winning and Vegeta was beginning to struggle. However, during some part of our fight, I noticed he was grinning as he thanked the full moon in the sky. Vegeta slowly began to increase in height and his appearance slowly changed in something wild and different."

Serena gasped.

"I don't know how I didn't notice it became night at some point but," Goku breathed out before continuing. "What really shocked me was his transformation. The creature that Vegeta transformed into fit the description that the people in the mountains gave me so well. It didn't take long until I concluded that I also transformed into one of those creatures and the reason why my friends were so relieved after I lost my tail."

"But you didn't know about it," Serena said in a calming tone.

"Yeah, but my grandfather did," his tone got harsher. "He always told me to not go out at night when there was a full moon. It must've happened before, so that's why my grandpa warned me. Still, he didn't exactly tell me why."

"You were only a child."

"But I would've understood it if he told me the reason. We could've prevented his death if I'd learned how to control myself in that state. But he didn't give me the chance. He didn't tell me about his worries. He was acting like you."

He held her tight.

"Serena, we've been in this together for a few months," his voice began to calm down. "As your partner I want you to believe in me. We're a team and I want you to tell me everything that bothers you. Because I'm pretty sure if I didn't participate in your dream you wouldn't have told me about it."

"I would..."

"With that level of detail?" he asked seriously after he pulled away from her shoulder, looking into her eyes.

"If I'd remember it all as clearly as I do now, I would" she said, the events in her dream still too real in her mind. "This time it was too much."

"And even the times that it isn't too much I still want you to tell me about it. This is a big thing about you after all. I had Vegeta when I was confused about the Saiyans, but you don't have anybody for now to share that burden. Sailor Mars doesn't remember her past life and you finally got an idea of it just now."

"We finally got an idea," she finally smiled as she corrected him. "You were in the dream with me."

"Yeah," he said as he gazed at her. "And I still don't know why but I'm grateful for it."

Serena felt lighter after his words, though she was still worried about what he just told her. She understood that he said that to prove a point, but it was a serious matter they should talk about seriously and in-depth.

But not now. Instead, they should talk about the events of the dream. It must be really important if Selenity herself called them in that distant memory.

Why now? Of all the times-

There was a loud alarm resonating in the room.

Goku separated from her, recognizing the sound. He stood up and signaled for her to follow him.

Before going with him she looked around. She found her Moon wand between the bedsheets, which now had the powerful silver crystal in it, and took it with her.

Something didn't feel right.

Goku and Serena arrived at the communication room, red lights were the ones to welcome them besides the monitor. The screen said that there was thirteen missed calls and five-voice messages in the last 18 hours.

Did we sle ep that long?!

Serena was horrified as Goku touched the necessary sequence of buttons to access the messages.

The first message was from the best female martial artist:

Hello sleepyheads! If you're seeing this message you both probably sleep a lot and , well, Bulma received a call from her Antarctic base. So we decided to go with the other s to investigate. We 'll come back soon !

Serena looked at how long that message had been there. It had been sent sixteen hours ago.

Second message from the Saiyan prince:

Kakarot! Where the heck are you?! The mechanic woman and the other humans keep calling me when we have a more serious problem right now!

Creatures are attacking this place and we can't move around at the moment!

Answer them and tell them of our predicament.

Message sent 13 hours ago.

Third message from the mechanical queen:

Goku, hear me out . DO NOT BRING SERENA HERE!

The guys and I managed to hide from a crazy woman that calls herself 'Queen Beryl'. She was the one who messed up my place back here and she's searching for S ailor M oon with the help of some disgusting creatures.

Don't worry about us, we can manage on our own in the meantime.

Please keep our friend safe!

Message sent 8 hours ago.

Fourth Message from the Saiyan prince:

Kakarot, I don't know why you can't receive any messages, but we could clear the place for now.

I ' m going to the city where the moon warrior lives . Bulma told me to look around for a moment.

But I must warn you, If Rei calls me because she's having trouble again , I ' m going back to her, understood ?

Message sent 4 hours ago.

Last message from the Saiyan prince:

WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?

I ' m fighting monsters when you and the m oon warrior are supposed to be! And Bulma doesn't respond to me anymore since some hours ago and-

SHIT, REI'S CALLING ME!

Your ass better contact me soon to tell me what the fuck 's happening right now ! These past hours have been insane!

Message sent 2 hours ago.

Goku and Serena looked at the screen, not wanting to lose more time. Serena screamed her incantation and Goku touched his wristband.

Sailor Moon and Kakarot looked at each other.

"Can you do Instant Transmission?"

"I can't feel their ki. They probably lowered it if they're hiding," he said in a serious tone. "And they're not that close. I probably can't read the ki that far. My technique isn't perfect yet."

Ba-bum, ba-bum.

Sailor Moon almost panicked before she felt her Moon wand literally beating. She looked at it and noticed that the silver crystal was shining.

"This energy," Kakarot said as he concentrated, his mind noticing two energy's pretty similar to this one, one was close and the other one was far away. But he could feel it. "It resonates with the other artifacts that had the same ki."

"The same magic," Sailor Moon now knew why her friend's communicators needed to be sealed with Luna's moon magic. "Can you track them down now?"

"Yes," he said as he touched his forehead at the same time Sailor Moon touched his shoulder.

Both of them disappeared in an instant.

Bulma, Milk and Luna were writing coordinates on the keyboard as fast as they could. Meanwhile, Yamcha, Tien and Krillin were fighting off a massive number of creatures. They were all tired, but they didn't want it to end this way. All of them were more pumped up after knowing that the Beryl woman was not there anymore.

The ship was almost ready to go and they only needed a few more minutes to get rid of all to finally escape from here and-

"Moon Tiara Boomerang!"

"KAME HAME HAAAAAA!"

A bright and powerful light appeared as it disintegrated many of the creatures that they'd been fighting for hours. It was the perfect entrance for the Sailor Soldier and the Saiyan from Earth.

Sailor Moon went to the girls and Kakarot went towards the Z fighters.

"You finally woke up, Goku!" Krillin said smiling at his friend, but Kakarot noticed how exhausted he sounded. "The guys and I had the training of our lives without you, so sorry about that!"

"Yeah, man, I can see why you got so powerful," Yamcha admitted, feeling tired. "Fighting these creatures daily must be hard."

"And you were getting cocky just because we fought them twice a week, sometimes in our home, Yamcha," Tien said, sounding more relaxed and looking at Sailor Moon and the others. "Something serious is happening. Did the creatures also attack back at Capsule Corp?"

"No, we woke up for different reasons."

"HOLD ON!" Krillin said, surprised. "Both of you just recently woke up?!"

"Yes. It's a long story that I can't tell you all just yet because there are more important things right now," Kakarot said as he felt something else in the place and he was getting worried by it.

"GUYS! SHE CAN HEAL US ALL!" they heard Bulma's voice clearly. "COME HERE, FAST!"

"Are you sure about this, Luna?" Sailor Moon felt a bit unsure. "I only tried it once with Mars and the people back there and I-"

"It's okay, Sailor Moon. You just have to say: Moon Healing Escalation," Luna smiled at her. "I know you can do it!"

Sailor Moon looked nervous while she saw the others coming with Kakarot. They were more beaten up than Milk and Bulma. She didn't need to think more about it as now wasn't the time. Although that didn't stop the guiltiness in her heart.

"Okay, everyone, come closer to each other," they all followed her orders. They believed in her and she felt more sure as she said the words for the first time. "Moon Healing Escalation!"

A soft light with golden sparks embraced her friends and a warm feeling went over all of them. Their bruises slowly disappeared, leaving them in a fresh and healthy state.

"Wow! I feel like a new person!" Milk said happily. "I can take on 200 more creatures now!"

"I feel great! All my stress and fatigue are gone!" Bulma exclaimed as she took Sailor Moon's hands. "You need to help me more often with your new power! This would help me out in my all-nighters when I'm working!"

"Guys, we need to go," Sailor Moon said with a mix of embarrassment and seriousness. "We don't know if Capsule Corp is still safe and we should all go there after I purify the place."

Her friends nodded, walking towards the spaceship that was a few meters away from them. It was an old model, but it still looked in good shape, so she wouldn't be worried since it was from her friend's corporation. She had complete trust in it.

"And by that, you mean that I will clean the place," Kakarot said with a cocky grin, walking up to her. "Sailor Moon, you'll go with them and I'll be the one that stays here."

"Kakarot!" Sailor Moon shouted, completely annoyed by his insinuation. "I can't leave you alone right now! Weren't you the one who told me to act as a team a few hours ago?!"

"Yeah and as a team, we should trust each other," Kakarot said, his expression becoming more serious. "I felt something tremendous moments ago. One that is getting stronger by the second and if the main person that is tracking you down isn't here it means she could be searching back in Tokyo."

Sailor Moon couldn't argue with that.

"But why would they attack the Antarctic then? It doesn't make sense since we have never been here before."

"I don't know yet, but there's something here that's bothering me, so I'll stay behind."

"And you'll come back, right?" Sailor Moon held his hand. "I don't want to relive the bad experiences like in that vision, okay? It's still too fresh."

"It's okay, I'll come back as soon as I finish here," he smiled at her.

"And how will you come back? If I take the silver crystal with me the chances of you coming back ar-"

"I already memorized how it feels. It has the same warm and calm feeling as your aura. One that I know like the back of my hand," he winked at her and she blushed.

Unnoticed to them, the group at the spaceship was acting as an audience. Bulma and Milk giggled while feeling proud, and Yamcha just admired this new facet of Goku with Krillin. Tien just looked pleased.

"Then I'll believe you," Sailor Moon smiled. "I'll believe that you'll come back to me."

"I will always come back to you," he said with deep honesty.

There were loud screams and whistles.

"Alright, then I'll take this with me as a token of your promise," Sailor Moon said as she kissed his cheek and took one of his blue wristbands in one movement. Then she took some steps back and put his wristband on one of her wrists while blushing madly. "Good luck, Kakarot!"

And with that the pretty guardian turned around, going towards the ship and leaving behind a Saiyan warrior that was grinning goofily.

Her lovesick attitude disappeared when she arrived at Capsule Corp. Everything looked the same, but there was something in the air that made the atmosphere feel eerie.

When she went out of the spaceship she noticed it. The sky was dark and it felt colder than when they left.

"Whoa! What's with this feeling?!" Krillin asked as he felt chills in his arms. "This feels like a different place!"

"Yeah, but there are no monsters in sight," Tien said as he scanned the ki in the area. "And I can't feel their ki either."

There was a sound coming from Sailor Moon's earrings; someone was trying to contact her!

"Ka-" she began hopefully as she responded to the call.

"S-Sa-Sailor Moon! Can you he-hear-hear me?!" a female voice asked. It was Sailor Mars. "I keep hearing bad news on the radio and tv about the place where you live!"

Oh no! Tokyo!

"And we're getting a bit tired, to be honest," the girl in her earring said.

"Don't count me there, woman!" a strong male voice could be heard shouting, one that almost made her deaf.

"Wow, is that Vegeta's voice I hear?!" Yamcha said as he went closer to Sailor Moon, which also gained the interest of the others.

"Yeah sure, you can fool the others, but not me, Vegeta!" Sailor Mars' voice could be heard. "We've been fighting for more than 6 hours!"

"Speak for yourself. We Saiyans can fight for days," Sailor Moon could hear him smirk as he spoke.

"Are you challenging me, Vegeta?!"

"No. I'm just stating facts."

"Sailor Mars!" Sailor Moon said as she tried to stop their arguing. "I'll go to Tokyo right now and as soon as I finish I'll heal you both!"

"Thank you so much, Sailor Moon!" Sailor Mars said with relief in her voice. "It's good to have someone normal to rely on."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY WOM-" Vegeta's voice was loud until the call was cut abruptly. Probably Sailor Mars' doing.

"I knew that I could trust that girl to put Vegeta in his place. I don't know her personally but I'm already proud of her after hearing this," Bulma said with a malicious smile. "I give her my blessings."

Sailor Moon just smiled awkwardly.

"Seems like it'll be hard to go back to Tokyo alone," Yamcha said as he looked at Sailor Moon. "Want us to give you a hand?"

"But you just fought for hou-" Sailor Moon began until she felt a hand on her shoulder. It was Tien's.

"We're fine now. Thanks to you," Tien said in a calming tone.

"You just healed us up and we feel better than ever," Krillin smiled at her side. "It's the least we could do."

Sailor Moon nodded, holding back her tears.

"Well then, we'll go ahead," Tien said, gesturing to the others to follow him. "We don't have Instant Transmission, but we're fast in flying. So it's better to go now. See you there, Moon!"

The other two followed him and Sailor Moon looked at them as they flew up in the sky.

"Those idiots!" Milk said annoyed. "They forgot that you can't go by yourself back to Tokyo!"

Sailor Moon honestly forgot about that and now she was quite worried.

"Don't worry! We'll take you to them!" Bulma smiled and Sailor Moon felt relieved.

"Girls!" Luna called to them from the ship. "We're in a worse situation than we thought!"

The girls entered the ship and Luna was typing the control panel.

"Luna, you fixed the TV panel?" Bulma asked, surprised. "I thought it was a goner!"

"I only managed to make it work for a little bit. And it showed me the news. They're ugly."

On the screen was a man in the news program, who looked quite nervous even if he was a professional.

"Terrible news, everyone! In many places, things are going terribly. Disgusting humanoid creatures are attacking different parts of the Asian continent.

The most affected is the capital of Japan: Tokyo.

Don't go there!"

Princess Selenity!

A strong voice went through her head, strong like a knife. She felt enough pain that it made her squirm backwards, but Bulma and Milk held her.

"Sailor Moon, what's wrong?!" Milk was worried now.

Come to me as your true self. Don't you dare to fight me as the warrior you so call yourself!

"Stop-"

A stupid moon warrior. You decided to disguise yourself like that to evade your destiny. Did you honestly think a princess would be more than a helpless girl? Pathetic!

"SHUT UP!" Sailor Moon's forehead was burning.

Found you.

Sailor Moon took out her brooch from her chest and put it in front of them. Her transformation was called off and her ribbons became her high school uniform.

A strong black energy that came from the sky crashed towards her brooch destroying the upper half of the spaceship. Her brooch acted as a strong shield of light for them.

"Serena!" Milk cried out as she held the shoulders of her friend Serena Tsukino.

"How did that crazy woman find us?!" Bulma asked as she looked at the sky, searching for the culprit.

"It's my fault," Serena said, almost panting, looking up as the crescent moon on her forehead shined. Another black bolt went towards them and Serena used her brooch as a shield one more time. Where was her Moon wand?! Where did she leave it?!

You can't escape, Selenity! I 'll attack you and your stupid friends as much as I need to because I 'll destroy every single thing you love.

"Wow, I can hear her!" Bulma said as she touched her ears. "This woman is so damn nosy. She really is a bitc-"

Another attack and Serena managed to hold her brooch up.

Serenity, you have to get out of there!

"Princess Selenity?" Serena said in a whisper.

She will keep attacking you, my child! You need to face her on the M oon, only there you will have the upper hand. I will guide you there.

"Queen Selene?!" Serena only heard her voice in her dreams but now she sounded more clearly. The sound of the consecutive attacks was strong enough to make the other three not notice that she was talking to herself.

We will help you to escape from this situation but when you arrive on the moon, you face Metallia and Beryl alone. We can only aid you once and this situation is getting more dangerous. It can be mortal if we do not help you now my dear daughter.

Crack.

"Okay, tell me what I have to do!" her brooch was taking damage and she didn't know how long it would resist.

Serenity, hear me out! I only have one chance to possess you and if you do not do a counterattack right now , Beryl will keep attacking you and your friends endlessly !

Serena took a breath and nodded.

I will lend you my body Selenity . I believe in you

"Serena, your hair!" Milk said with a look of surprise as she watched her friend's beautiful blonde hair get longer and whiter. Her uniform was temporarily replaced by a dress similar to her princess form but with silver colors. Her eyes turned a white blue.

"Princess Selenity!" Luna exclaimed as she saw Selenity's appearance.

There was another attack coming and Selenity called for the Moon wand. It appeared in her right hand in a second.

"Moon Healing Escalation!" Selenity's voice was elegant and with a soft echo as she called out her powerful attack. A white and strong light dissipated the dark atmosphere and the black bolts.

Leaving a calm and peaceful night behind.

"Selenity?" Bulma asked the young woman slowly, who looked like her but was at the same time so different from the Serena they knew.

Selenity blinked and her white blue eyes went back to her sky blue ones. Her hair recovered her blonde color and the dress disappeared, leaving her in her summer uniform once again.

"She was the original Princess of the Moon. I let her borrow my body so she could save us," Serena said with a sad smile. "I'll tell you both the details after this fight is over."

"Didn't you, I mean Selenity, destroy the one who was attacking us?" Milk said with worry in her eyes.

"No, she only stopped the attacks for now. However," Serena took her brooch that was left on the ground and gave it to Bulma- "She'll attack here again and I'll not be around to protect you. So that's why I'll leave my brooch with you two. It's a bit cracked, but it can work as a shield if you ask for it."

"Don't be ridiculous!" Bulma said as she tried to give it back to Serena. "You can't transform into Sailor Moon if you don't have it! How will you fight?!"

"Beryl wanted the real me to face her," Serena said as she stared at her Moon wand. The silver crystal was reflecting her face. "So Serena Tsukino will fight her."

"But how?!" Milk searched Serena's eyes for an answer, getting anxious for the fate of her friend.

"I was able to protect you both for a while as Serena Tsukino," Serena said with a smile. "I don't know why I thought of protecting you both with my brooch, but it worked. I think I can trust my instincts."

"Serena, aren't you scared of going to fight alone?"

"I'm terrified, to be honest," she admitted. "But this won't stop until I face it and I don't want more destruction. My city, Tokyo, already suffered from it."

"Krillin and the others will protect it!" Bulma said with optimism as she understood her friend's position. "And we'll protect our home if they dare to attack us again. Right, Milk?"

"Yes!" Milk smiled. "We'll use this to protect us and we'll guide everyone from here."

Serena smiled fondly towards her two friends and hugged them before exiting the now broken spaceship.

"Luna, I want you to stay here with them," Serena said with a smile as her Moon wand began to glow, embracing her entire body in a soft white light and before disappearing from their sight she added. "I'll be right back."

Kakarot was fighting left and right with the creatures in Bulma's Antarctic facility. It was for sure a great warm-up and all, but he needed to cut off the portal where these guys were coming from.

And was it him or did these things get more powerful? Because he was pretty sure that the first bunch was quite easy to defeat. However, these were taking more damage and even managed to scratch him.

Why are they plaguing this place? There needs to be something important here.

His opponents had tried to stop him from advancing further down, so maybe there was something down there. But this place was big. Only Bulma's enterprises could be this gigantic and with a simple design.

As he went deeper and cleaned the place up, he noticed it. There was a door with an announcement on it.

"Don't enter. After this door, there's still ice and we won't be held responsible for the workers' health if they decide to ignore this warning. The amplification is in speaking terms, but it hasn't been physically explored yet," Kakarot finished reading and it didn't make sense. Not all the creatures he fought had the same physical type, so this door had to be opened once if some of the creatures came from it.

But it was firmly shut and it didn't have a handle. It looked like someone sculpted a metal door in the wall.

Kakarot decided to take the door with the entire wall down. It was a fast way to go in and he couldn't help feeling something bad was happening behind it.

A simple ki blast did the trick.

Now with the path open, he went into it. After he walked ahead, he saw that the ice was blocking the way and destroyed it with his ki blasts, making himself a way to go through.

There was a small black dot that began to get bigger as he advanced. This was worrying him because it went from the size of an insect to as big as a building when he broke the final ice wall.

He was face to face with the biggest ball of black energy he ever saw. This thing had probably been here since a long time ago.

Beep beep beep.

Kakarot's watch was receiving a call. Was it Sailor Moon? Did something happen back at Capsule Corp?

"Kakarot, can you hear me?" Bulma's voice could be heard on his watch and she sounded quite anxious.

"Yes," Kakarot said as he looked at the big ball of darkness that was in front of him. "And I found something interesting. You have a big uninvited guest behind the door that was going to be an extension of your facility."

"WHAT?!" Bulma said worriedly. There were sounds of buttons being touched. She was probably on her computer. "Can you press the purple button that is on your watch?"

"The one you told me to not touch?"

"Yes, press it!"

Kakarot pressed the button and his watch began to make a little sound as a small antenna began to extend slowly.

"Gotcha!" Bulma said happily. "I can see your position now and see things that are around you! It's still a prototype so it'll not show the image super well, but it's a great step!"

"Why didn't you tell me about this?" Kakarot said. This could have helped them sometimes in their missions.

"Duh! What part of prototype did you not hear?" Bulma said quite annoyed "I wasn't sure if the transmission could last long, so I wanted you to use it only in an extreme situation."

"Sailor Moon and I had been in extreme situations before!"

"This time is different. Sailor Moon isn't with you," Bulma said in a serious tone. "And not with us either. She went to fight that Beryl woman alone and left us her transformation brooch to protect us."

Kakarot felt proud. His girlfriend was going to beat down that woman who has been making her life hell by herself and how can he not be proud of tha-

She le ft us her transformation brooch to protect us.

"SHE LEFT HER BROOCH?!" Kakarot was worried now and quite angry. "SO SHE WENT TO FACE HER WITHOUT BEING SAILOR MOON?!"

"DO NOT SHOUT AT ME, YOUNG MAN!" Bulma said in the same tone. "HOW DO YOU THINK WE FEEL? NEVERTHELESS, SERENA WAS SO SURE ABOUT IT EVEN IF SHE WAS TREMBLING. SO WE COULD ONLY OFFER HER WORDS OF COMFORT!"

Kakarot breathed out, trying to think rationally. Serena needed to have a plan if she was going to face that woman. He knew she wouldn't go without one since she wasn't suicidal. However, he couldn't help feeling anxious.

"Kakarot?" Bulma asked unsurely. "Are you ok? That was a long silence."

"Did she take her Moon wand with her?" Kakarot said with an urgency in his tone. "Tell me she did, please."

"Yes, she actually defended us with it when she was in her princess state, but later she told us that her past self used her body so she could dissipate the constant attacks towards us. She looked so different, Kakarot, her white hair, and her almost white blue eyes. I think that was the first time we saw princess Selenity."

"Well hearing that makes me feel more relaxed, thanks," Kakarot said with a sigh. "Knowing that she'll have support in some way. Serena's an amazing person, but sometimes she just needs someone to reassure her. She was fighting alone before so she didn't know if she was doing a great job. And she was doing her best and that's amazing."

"Kakarot, you talk as if you love her," Bulma said breathlessly. "You had shown it before, but now, hearing you talk that way about someone, makes me see how much have you grown and I'm so happy."

"I'm just being honest," Kakarot said with a smile. "If she tries her best I should as well. So, tell me, how can I eliminate this thing? I promised her I would be back quickly and this thing is the reason I stayed."

"Maybe you should throw ki blasts?" Bulma said. "It's better for now if you don't touch it with your bare hands. If this is one of the things that suck your energy it could be a problem."

"Hmmm, alright I'll try that."

Kakarot began to throw ki blasts and Kamehameha's as he flew around the black ball. It absorbed every single thing. He tried again, but the result was the same, although he noticed that the ball grew bigger. Was his energy that powerful?

Beep beep beep.

"Bulma, I think I have a plan and you probably will not like it," Kakarot said with a serious tone. "I think I can overpower this thing. If a few of my attacks managed to make it bigger, maybe I can make it explode by itself if there's too much energy to handle."

"Kakarot, that sounds insane!" Bulma said with worry. "You're not immune to it and Sailor Moon has told us how a person is after they sucked it dry."

"I know, I saw them the day I met her," Kakarot said as he remembered that day clearly before continuing. "But this has to be very important. It's excessively big to be here and guarded by those creatures. Even Beryl herself at some point was here."

"Bulma! Vegeta's telling me that there's fire everywhere where they are!" Milk's voice could be heard in the background and it sounded frantic. "It seems that there was a problem and we can't contact Krillin and the others!"

"Damn it, this situation is worrisome," Bulma said in a weak voice. "And was the sound I heard from your communicator? If it is, I'm regretful to announce that the transmission will last another 5 minutes before it cuts. You'll need to wait five hours for it so it can recharge itself. Normally it could take less with the solar lights energy, but you're in a place where the sun isn't out and it's already nighttime here so I don't know how it's there."

"Don't worry about that. Your communicator helped us to talk now and for you to visually know my situation," Kakarot said with a determined tone. "You both should keep an eye on the others. Vegeta and Sailor Mars are used to the creatures, since they fought them almost daily like us. Krillin and the others on the other hand didn't. They're less prepared for it because they only fought them occasionally."

Beep beep beep.

"I hate that you have a point," Bulma sounded tired. "Are you sure that you're going to be fine after you execute your plan?"

"I'm a Saiyan and you know how I was always full of energy since we were kids. I think I'll be fine."

"Take care, Goku," Bulma said before the call was over.

Kakarot analyzed the situation as he flew slowly to every part of the big black ball. If he flew and attacked as he did before, he'd probably waste energy flying so it'd be less time for him to endure. He needed to attack from the inside, as it could do much more damage.

There was sounds of ice crystal touching the ground in some part of the place but he was far from that part. He didn't hear it.

He descended and began to walk towards the ball. He could feel the atmosphere changing when he entered it. The gravity was strong, but it felt like when he used his heavy clothes for the first time. It was bearable. The center of it was his goal and he began to concentrate. When he arrived there, he began to control his breathing. His arms began to feel heavy as he slowly began to put them above his head.

The crystal ice began to materialize into something more sinister, it was long and sharp. It moved like if it was alive.

He screamed, giving as much energy as he could in one go to the dark dome. It wasn't enough, so he continued. Ignoring the danger that stalked him.

Something was behind him and he didn't notice it. The black dome overpowered the dark energy coming from the big crystal formation, giving it the opportunity to go undetected since it's formation.

It pierced his chest in a fast and clean attack.

A lethal attack that he didn't feel at first.

Time had passed, but he didn't know how long. His legs were beginning to feel numb, but he didn't give in.

He coughed blood, and felt for the first time something in his chest. He didn't dare to look what caused the pain, he could lose his concentration.

"T-That was a dirty trick" He was beginning to feel breathless.

The black dome was still standing and until it disappeared, he wouldn't take a break. His body was hurting as hell but that never stopped him.

Serena touched the ground of the white planet with the voice of Queen Selene as her companion. She expected to begin to grasp for air, but the air was pure and she could breathe. She walked and noticed that she could do it. It was a bit floaty, but she could walk without a spacesuit.

Come, what is left of our home is ahead. Let us go, my dear daughter.

"Why are you calling me 'daughter', your majesty?" Serena asked as she followed the queen's directions. "You called me that earlier too. I thought it was pretty obvious I'm not your daughter."

You are now . Selenity is my daughter . However, you are her reincarnation and the one who inherited the legacy of the moon. You became part of my family, you became my daughter and princess Selenity's sister.

"Still, is it okay for a girl that spent most of her life living on Earth to be the one who inherits the Moon's legacy?" Serena said, doubts filling her mind as the weight of the queen's words were processed. "I was not even used to fighting."

Selenity was not a fighter. She was a princess that wanted to protect her guardians when she could not do it as they do. The desire of wanting to be able to fight was enough to materialize the Sailor Moon brooch in her final moments. But even if she could have used it in time, she could have not turned victorious. You must know about it, how it takes time to control, and be able to use the power of Sailor M oon. Her guardians were trained and it took you time to use your powers fully, so if Selenity had used the brooch herself to transform into Sailor Moon , the end still would be unchangeable.

"Why didn't the brooch appear sooner?" Serena said. "Selenity would've had the perfect opportunity to use it and train! She already could use the silver crystal and-"

We can not change the past and things must have happened for something. You were able to use the Sailor Moon brooch to its fullest and managed to use the Moon HealingEscalation on your first try.

"But-"

When your lunar legacy awoke in your body thanks to Selenity , you did not embrace Selenity's soul. You were your own person and your dress is the perfect example of what you are capable of. You made it similar but different from Selenity's. You made it yours.

"I did my best and if it wasn't for Goku and my friends I…" Serena said as she looked at her boyfriend's wristband that was still on her wrist.

You made allies, Serenity . Even when Metallia cursed the other guardians, making you fight alone for a short period of time, you made friends. Ones that could help you out and even fall in love with one.

"Your majesty, how do you know so much about me?" Serena couldn't help feeling her cheeks burn in embarrassment.

I was always with you , but I can only do much now . We spirits can not intervene with the actions of the living. Selenity did that twice and it cost her greatly , h aving a momentary time off thanks to the laws of H eaven. Nevertheless, she did not care . She wanted to protect her sister and to take revenge on Beryl. So after this, I think her spirit will be at ease.

Talking to the queen was easing her nerves. She felt like she was talking to her mother. That calm and caring atmosphere, her words of reassurance were helping her doubts to feel less intense.

It made the way feel shorter. She could already see the white ruins that were once the Moon Kingdom.

The big pieces of white rock, the white floor that had moon designs, a few walls that were mostly destroyed but one could get the idea of what was there if they had seen it before it was in this state.

Selenity showed you in a dream our past lives. We wanted to warn you about what was going to come . After they knew that you were the one that possessed the silver crystal , they could definitely go after your head in the worst way possible and sadly, we were right. They studied you more as days passed and Sailor Mars gained their attention since she broke off of the curse, managing to call herself the transformation pen from Luna's paws.

"Why did they want the silver crystal?" Serena said as she touched the cold wall. "Why did they think it was worth killing an entire civilization for it?"

Metallia was a small powerless creature that gained power through the years thanks to the negative feelings of different races. It traveled many planets until it found the best food. The humans on Earth , their bad feelings made the creature grow in power. Giving them the ability to possess and control some humans, because they have something in common. Avarice and Metallia wanted the life and power of the people of the M oon because our life span was much longer than most creatures in the galaxy thanks to our lineage and the silver crystal. Beryl was a human woman before she was controlled by Metallia and when she reincarnated, Metallia did not waste time in luring her again.

"What happened after Selenity was killed? We woke up after Metallia tried to attack us," Serena's voice was calm.

I destroyed her or at least I thought I did that at the time. But I was seriously hurt when I vanquished her, so it probably only weakened her enough to not come back until thousands of years later. Knowing that Metallia and Beryl were gone, I used the last energy I could come up with to make Selenity and her guardians have a better life in the future. It was my last wish to the silver crystal.

"And I can't let your sacrifice be in vain," Serena said with a few tears in her eyes, but with a strong voice. "Tell me what can I do to bring her here."

Scream with all your strength the name of the crystal that is in your scepter. Call its power.

"Alright, then-"

Take care, my daughter. I will hopefully see you soon.

And with those last words, the queen's voice disappeared from her head. Queen Selene and princess Selenity will not help her this time, they already saved her enough times.

It was time to finish this once and for all. For them and her future

Serena breathed slowly, feeling the air moving her summer high school uniform. It was a good thing she didn't feel cold.

It's time.

"MOON SILVER CRYSTAL, SHOW ME YOUR POWER!"Serena screamed with all her might, feeling a strong wind between her clothes.

She closed her eyes, holding her scepter high, and waited.

"There you are, Selenity!" Beryl's voice made her eyes open. She was closer than she imagined and her body instincts acted at a great time, managing to evade a long and sharp piece of crystal.

Serena was for the first time face to face with Beryl; a beautiful woman with pale skin and long wavy red hair. Her eyes were also blood red and her figure was well-formed thanks to her tight purple dress.

Beryl attacked her again, now throwing her hand towards her as if they were claws. It was then that Serena noticed that she had long red nails and she didn't like them.

"Are you really Selenity?" Beryl said at the same time she tried to attack Serena again. "You don't have the moon sign on your forehead and your clothes aren't the ones from the Moon Kingdom."

"Shut up!" Serena said as her scepter grew in size, long enough to be a large staff, and blocked Beryl's crystal attack once more. "You said you wanted to fight the real me, right? Well, you're fighting Serena Tsukino in person!"

"You call yourself this now, Selenity?" Beryl was smirking. "You, a princess, even trained. I can't believe you can put up a fight without your guardians now."

"One of your friends was a good teacher. She was way faster than you," Serena said as she managed to hit her. Beryl felt pain but attacked her once again, Serena blocked.

Déjà vu Beryl thought after witnessing the young girl blocking her attack.

Beryl didn't like this. The silver crystal was so close to her grasp but Selenity's wasn't giving in. She needed to stop playing with her and kill her already since she wasn't having fun fighting her.

Beryl evaded Selenity's attack and went backwards. She called the ice crystals. Conjuring at least fifteen of them, they were sharp and long, just as she liked it.

"This fight is boring," Beryl said with a false tired tone before making a gesture with her hand. "It's time to end this."

The crystals went towards Serena with an incredible speed. She evaded them the best she could, but most of them managed to scratch her uniform and skin. Serena rolled on the ground, feeling grateful for Goku's training.

"I like this look on you better," Beryl said as she saw a dirty and scratched Selenity in front of her, her stupid golden crescent moon mark was now on her forehead. Although her outfit didn't change "Blood with dirt. It's what you deserve."

Beryl summoned more crystals and Serena was running madly, trying to take the least damage possible.

Then one crystal hit her hand, which was holding her scepter, making her let go of it because of the pain.

Beryl saw with a grin on her face how the scepter was left on the ground while Serena was trying her best to evade the crystals. She no longer had the protection of the silver crystal. Without wasting her advantage, she threw a black ball at Serena that touched her skirt and covered her whole body in the form of black electric bolts.

"AHHH!" they were sucking her energy and Beryl knew that Selenity didn't have much time. She was trapped and she walked proudly to her prize, the silver crystal.

She knelt, so lost in the happiness and power she could feel already just by being so close to that legendary power, that it was all hers now.

She was so absorbed in her goals that she didn't notice the silence.

The crystal is mine.

Her hand was close to taking it until something black and white went straight to her face.

It hit her with such strength that she went a few steps backwards, feeling disoriented.

Serena used this opportunity to take one of the crystals of the ground and went towards the disoriented woman at an incredible speed.

Serena closed her eyes as the crystal went through Beryl's stomach. There came a sound from her enemy's throat and Serena fell backwards, feeling tired.

She watched how the former and powerful Beryl was beginning to breathe with difficulty. There was green blood coming from the part she just stabbed her.

"It-It can't be!" Beryl said, feeling weaker. "You damn bitch! Even in this life, you dare to humiliate me!"

Serena stood slowly, seeing with fear how black particles began to form below Beryl's body. It was covering her to the point where Beryl's body went black in an instant.

Serena called the silver crystal out of fear and her scepter appeared in front of her just in time to shield her from a black explosion.

Serena saw how Beryl's size grew and grew until she was as big as the famous Eiffel Tower.

"I'm pissed now, Princess," Beryl's voice sounded different, more deep and macabre. "Metallia came to my aid and gave me their whole power, however, you're alone… AND USELESS!"

Beryl sent a strong black ball of energy towards Serena and a strong darkness covered the entire Moon.

"MOON HEALING ESCALATION!" Serena's voice resonated as a strong light emanated from the thick darkness, Beryl watched in annoyance how Selenity was holding her scepter in front of her, wearing her white dress and with the moon sign on her forehead. She was levitating a few meters away from her and was looking straight at her.

Why was her hair blonde?! She was sure the last time she saw her she had that stupid white hair color.

"What are you fighting for, Selenity? Your past is dead and so will your new home be," Beryl said as she attacked her with a continued blast of black energy.

"It's not dead!" Serena dared to face her head-on with her scepter, holding her ground. "We're stronger than you think!"

"What do you think we got our power from besides the energy? We're formed from the evil of humans. Every single bad feeling of the Earth is what made us stronger!"

"Evil will always exist, however, it's not stronger than happiness and good feelings!" Serena said determinedly. "My friends and I will always fight for a better world!"

"THAT'S STUPID! YOU CAN'T HAVE FAITH IN THIS CORRUPTED WORLD!" her beam of dark energy augmented its power and Serena had for a few moments some difficulty to keep her scepter in front of her.

Serena looked at Goku's wristband that was still moving on her wrist thanks to the clash of powers. She thought about her friends at Capsule Corp, her school, her family, how she needed to talk more with Sailor Mars and the one that was waiting for her on Earth. The person who owned the wristband.

Goku.

Beryl felt half of her energy disappear in an instant.

Did someone destroy my sphere of energy back on Earth ?! How?! My best monsters should be there defending the place!

This was bad. She needed to eliminate Selenity now and steal the silver crystal to gain more power!

"DIE! DIE ALREADY, SELENITY!" Beryl screamed as she increased the beam of dark energy. "I KILLED YOU ONCE AND I WILL DO IT AGAIN!"

"I'm so tired of you," Serena said in a small voice. "You killed innocent people, robbed their energy and eliminated a pacific race just because you were so weak."

"AND THERE'LL BE MORE. I NEED MORE ENERGY! I NEED MORE, SELENITY!"

"STOP CALLING ME THAT NAME. MY NAME IS SERENA AND I'LL BE CALLED PRINCESS SERENITY. THE ONE WHO INHERITED THE MOON'S LEGACY AND I'LL DESTROY YOU IN THE MOON'S NAME!" Serenity screamed fiercely. "IN THE NAME OF QUEEN SELENE AND PRINCESS SELENITY, I PURIFY YOU!"

A strong beam of white light came from the Moon Scepter. Beryl watched in horror how it was coming towards her and she couldn't evade it. It touched her skin and it burned her. The pain was so strong it made her scream inhumanly.

The big woman disappeared slowly, leaving only ashes behind.

Princess Serenity felt relieved as her transformation wore off. She began to descend slowly to the ground, feeling incredibly tired as her heartbeat began to slow down considerably.
