"Your leg is bouncing again my Prince."
Face warming, Jack stopped his moving leg, before glancing at his older brothers and the councilmen, none of them had noticed. Inwardly sighing in relief, he turned his head to give his companion a grateful smile.
His companion, Huizhong smiled back, before turning his attention to the room, eyes looking about, ready for any threat that may harm his charge. A sudden shift in the air was his only warning before a voice spoke.
"They're late."
Huizhong glanced over at his companion as she emerged from the shadows, as always she looked lovely in her red and black, clothing clinging in just the right places. Hair done in descending waves. Her brows furrowing just slightly was the only indication of annoyance.
"Perhaps, they came upon some trouble," Huizhong offered, looking straight ahead toward the large doors that have yet to open.
"What kind of trouble could they possibly get into in this city, especially surrounded by our guards and their own? Not to mention our guest of honor is a great warrior." His companion huffed, crossing her arms.
"One must never assume, Wuya"
Wuya humphed, shifting on her feet.
"You two are being loud, brother Guan is giving a rather disapproving look."
Straightening up, both gave apologetic slight bows of the head to the second prince before Huizhong turned his attention back to his charge. The youngest Prince still looked nervous.
Bending down so that he could speak quietly, Huizhong asked, "Would you like Wuya to get you some tea?"
Jack glanced over at the councilmen his eldest brother had been keeping occupied, "Best not."
"We've been here for some time, I think tea would be reasonable." The guard tried, aware of Wuya disappearing into the shadows once more.
"I'm aware, but let us wait."
Taking note of the formal speech, Huizhong straighten up and looked over at the second prince, he wondered if he should speak with his majesty when suddenly, the doors opened and their guest of honor is being announced.
"Introducing, the Heylin Dragon tribe!"
~.~
Naturally, the first thing he noticed was the dark moss-green scales. They seem to trail down from neck and down broad shoulders, strong arms, and forearms. Some dotted the back of their guest's clawed hands, their toned chest was also dotted with scales while more trailed down their sides and disappearing down into the royal red skirt with gold trim, and front flap with unidentifiable symbols; leaving the stomach bare. Something slid along the floor, it was a long striped tail that had three dark bone-like structures that he couldn't figure out what it was exactly. There seem to be more but he could not see how many. Finally, the Prince looked up at their guest's face and froze.
Golden serpentine eyes were staring at him.
Jack, third Prince to the Kingdom, shivered.
Beside him, Huizhong shifted closer to him.
"Welcome!"
The sudden sound voice of his eldest brother and King, Dashi startled the Prince. His brother, as well as his other brother Guan and the council, were standing; and quickly he moved to join them. Cheeks turning red under the disapproving glance from one of the councilmen who had seen his momentary slip-up.
Serpentine eyes were still looking at him.
"I do hope your travel here was a safe and joyous one." Dashi greeted as he descended down the steps and to their guests.
One of their guests took a step forward, and while most of them looked young, Jack knew that Hannibal was his name, to be the eldest of the group. He met his brother in the middle and they clasped arms in greeting.
"It was, the city here is truly something to behold," Hannibal said
"Why thank you," Dashi smiled, "though I must say, your home's beauty does not hold a candle to our own."
The elder laughed, "I will have to agree with you there! Ah, but let's not forget ourselves."
The one with the moss green scales stepped forward, bowing his head slightly in respect.
"A gift," Hannibal said, "for the youngest Prince."
Wait…gift? For him? As in this person was to be given to him?….. What?
"Does this gift please you, little brother?"
Jack looked at his eldest brother who wanted patiently for his answer; he could feel the council-men's hard look; daring him to do anything but agree.
"It is indeed a lovely gift," He found himself saying, "and one I willingly accept."
There are suddenly smiles all around, followed quickly by the chatter of signing treaties and the like. Jack doesn't pay any of it much mind, though he knew he should. His focus is back to his…gift, who was just standing there, looking very much unbothered by the fact that he had very much been forgotten.
He was still watching him.
"Shall I have him escorted out and to a room?"
The Prince jumped, startled, then turned his attention to Huizhong.
"Y-Yes," He stumbled a bit, "that would be best, thank you Huizhong."
Nodding, Huizhong called over a servant. "Please escort the Prince's guest to a room, and see to that his needs are met." He told her.
"Yes, Master Huizhong."
Jack watched the two leave, the door closing making him both relieved and disappointed, it also drew his attention back to the conversation around him.
"My, my, I have seen many treaties in my day, never have I seen one so through." Hannibal looked very impressed as he continued to read over.
"Ah, you have our youngest brother to thank for that," Guan told him, causing Jack to blush under both the praise and the unhappy look he was receiving the councilmen.
They are were no doubt upset by the last-minute changes made to the treaty that his eldest brother did, though to be fair, Jack didn't know about them until after he had entered the room and sat down.
"Truly? What an impressive mind you have."
"Your words are very kind," Jack responded, doing his best to ignore the councilmen
The discussion of the treaty goes on for another hour or so, with the councilmen trying very subtle to change some of something here and there, and his brothers and Hannibal subtle telling them to fuck off.
"Perhaps brother Guan was right, and Wuya is a bad influence on me."
Granted, if his brother truly thought that, then the woman wouldn't still be his personal guard, his brothers were very over-protective of him, always had been since he had been a child, even more so after The Incident.
"Now with that out of the way, may I suggest you and your entourage freshen up? We have a marvelous dinner planned, should you want it."
"That sounds wonderful," Hannibal smiled.
Jack didn't like that smile, granted, Jack didn't like Hannibal at all but for the sack of his brothers and the people, he kept his peace.

Jack managed to talk his way out of dinner, he made it to his room, and nearly had a heart attack.
"How-Why-What?!"
Standing in the middle of his room was his so-called gift, still seemingly unbothered, even though he nearly killed the poor Prince. Though Jack was sure there was some amusement in those eyes. Calming his hammering heart, Jack spoke again.
"Why are you in here, erm….I don't know your name."
"Chase."
Oh my, what a lovely voice.
"Focus." Clearing his throat, "R-Right, as I was saying, why-"
A thought suddenly struck him.
What was this an attempt on his life?
Not only would this not be the first time, but not everyone was happy about the soon-to-be union between the two lands. Now very much worried, Jack opened his mouth to call for Wuya, as he slowly reached for his hidden dagger. There was a low rumbling sound, and suddenly, Jack's back was being pressed against the door, and his wrists were captured in a firm grip.
Jack is suddenly aware of how much taller the other was.
Once again, those eyes were on him, and whatever words he wanted to say got lost in his throat.
His hands were brought up, and Chase nuzzled into them, the Prince was flabbergasted. Watching as Chase rubbed one of his cheeks into his palm, eyes closed in contentment.
…..What was happening?
"Have I displeased you in some way?"
Jack jumped, "W-What?"
"Your scent changed."
"O-Oh."
"So, have I displeased?"
"O-Oh, no! I mean yes…I think? Um…maybe."
Chase's eyes gleamed with amusement, Jack felt his face get warm.
"Good."
Jack is very confused.
Even more so when suddenly, he's being gently pulled to his bed, and sat.
"You have not eaten, correct?"
The Prince nodded dumbly.
"Then, allow me to fetch you something to eat, and perhaps a bath afterward."
The Heylin started to head towards the door, and Jack finally found his voice.
"You don't have to do that!"
Chase paused, and suddenly Jack felt like had said the wrong thing.
"I just meant," the Prince babbled, "you do not have to serve me, I have no intention to use someone unwilling-"
A finger pressed against his lips stopped his word vomit.
"You have misunderstood my Prince, I gave myself willing to you, and you only."
