[Dante's Shop]"So let me get this right Oni" Dante was saying while leaning forward with his eyes meeting the red eyes of the demon. "Mundus...My dad's old war buddy...the guy who killed my mother...the guy who brainwashed my brother...Is...still...alive?" He said with his gaze becoming more serious as he clenched both his hands. His growing anger was being shown with his demonic aura surrounding him. Said demon Oniken noticed it but remained unfazed as he leaned against the desk.
"It would seem to be the case. However, that is all I could dig up so far." The dark demon said before turning away to walk out. Stopping long enough to turn his head to look at the demon slayer over his shoulder. "Good luck son of Sparda. I will be in touch to give you what information I can." Before disappearing through the shadow of the door. Right before Vergil kicked down the door and held his sword ready for a fight. "Did you really have to kick down the door like that?"
"I felt a demonic presence...why the hell are you just sitting there?" The blue clad brother said while walking to the desk. Only just noticing the grim expression on his younger brother. "I just got told by one of my dear old dad's war buddies that Mundus is still alive. "What?! I thought you ended him on that damned island!" Vergil shouted in rage as he looked at Dante in shock. "I thought the same as well...but it looks like he is still clinging on. I don't know how exactly yet, but we will have to look into it any chance we get."
Vergil breathes in and calms himself. Not wanting to lose what cool he had over his red clad brother. "Gives us something to do. By the way," Vergil said as he remembered the reason he was coming back to their shop. "I was told by the old man to have you and your team to meet him in his office. He said there was a mission for you." He said before walking back through the doorway. "Alright but at least call someone to fix that!" Dante shouted at his exiting brother before sighing at the situation. Turning to his collection of devil arms he had collected over his long career. Making sure to grab a few before leaving.
[Meanwhile]
Over in the training grounds, Naruto was doing target practice with Yin and Yang. Shikamaru was doing his usual cloud watching. While Ino watches Naruto with admiration, sharpening her kunais and preparing her other ninja tools. All the while Anko was leaning back against a tree eating up her dango. As she was mid-bite into her food, Dante appeared behind her. "Whatcha eating?" He said, making her jump up in shock with her dango in her mouth. Before pulling it out to yell at her white-haired partner.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!" She shouted after catching her breath. While Naruto and Ino were both rolling on the ground laughing from the reaction. "Wasn't for anything...I just wanted to hear you scream." Dante replied before dodging a kunai thrown at his head by the purple-haired kunoichi. "Nice try...besides I came to get you guys. Old man wants us in his office...we got a mission."
"That's all? Why didn't you just say so? Alright brats let's get moving!?" Anko shouted, pulling a one-eighty from her mood a minute ago. Naruto and Ino are pretty excited about getting an actual mission. While Shikamaru could only say how much of a drag it was as he got up from his spot. The group did not take long to get to the Hokage's office.
Sarutobi was sighing after hearing team ten's debriefing. Kiba, unfortunately, looked like he went through a blender while Sakura and Choji were unscathed. While Asuma dragged from his cigarette, as he usually did… and Kurenai tried tending to Kiba's wounds. Sarutobi sighed again before looking upon the team. "Well done on a successful mission Team Ten. Get some rest and patched up until we get another mission for you."
With those final words Asuma, Kurenai and the rest of their team began walking out of the office. All while Kiba and Akamaru were whining in pain while Sakura complained about the whole situation. Choji Kurenai and Asume on the other hand ignored the two of them bickering. Once they were out Dante and his team walked into the office.
"Hey old man...Vergil told me that you wanted to see us?" The white hair slayer said with a smile. Standing directly in front of, and leaning against, the Hokage's desk. Sarutobi smiled and took a drag from his pipe, while some of his subordinates were shocked and furious at Dante's actions. "Vergil was right, Dante. I have a mission for you and your team, a C-Rank mission to be specific. Do you and your team accept?"
Hearing the old man's proposition, the red clad slayer smiled. "You had me at C-Rank old man...alright...we'll take it." Once the last word of his acceptance, Sarutobi ordered for Tazuna to be brought in. Of whom Dante was already annoyed as he was an old drunk, stumbling into the office while slurring his distaste for the kind of protection he had received. "What is this? I thought I was getting ninja. Not three brats, a stipper, and a white-haired goofball in a red trench coat."
After that was said, Naruto and Shikamaru had to hold Ino back from attacking the old drunk. While Dante had to hold back his Co-Sensei from the same after that stripper comment. With a sigh Dante looked over to Sarutobi. "We'll take it old man...it will give my team some self control training." With that said Sarutobi nodded and sent them off.
After gathering what they needed they met up at the gate. However, on the way there Dante made a stop by Ichiraku's. Old man Ichiraku smiled when he saw one of his favorite customers. "Ah Dante it is good to see you my boy." "Hey old man...can you let Ayame know that me and Naruto will be out on a mission for a while. I don't want her to worry too much about us, you know?" He said with a smile while the old man smiled. "Of course...and after you finish I will treat you and your team to a free meal." "Sounds good...I'll see you later, old man." The white-haired slayer said with a smile. Waving to the ramen shop owner as he made his way to the gate.
[Gate entrance/ same time]
Anko stood there, leaning against the side of the opening, and sighed. She has been fighting off all the rogue thoughts plaguing her mind. She just couldn't stop thinking about Dante, and his supposed relation to a demon. Yes she was told that he is the son of Sparda, the demon swordsman who saved the humans in his world from his demon brethren. Even after hearing from the Hokage himself she had a hard time wrapping her head around it all. "I mean...how can he be a demon? He is too goofy and showboaty to be a demon." She thought before seeing said half-demon walking towards her with the students leading the client not far away. Enduring the old man's drunken antics.
"'Bout time you showed up! Do you know how long I have been waiting!?" She said, shouting at Dante. Of whom looked confused and held his belt line. "Who said you had to wait here the whole time, Anko? I sure as hell didn't." He said before standing in front of the whole group. "Alright then, it's time for Team Eight to move out. Legs get moving and Rock this mission!" Dante said while finishing his declaration with a thumbs up. Getting a smile from Naruto and Ino, while growing from the others for various reasons.
A good while down the road however, Dante and Anko noticed the couple of puddles of water along the side. Looking at each other and nodding, they planned on teaching their students a quick lesson. Anko created and replaced herself with a shadow clone, while Dante replaced himself with his Doppelganger ability. Once done the figures who were the two puddles pounced on the two senseis dicing what they thought was Dante and Anko. Leading to the shock of the genin team and the client.
Naruto gritted his teeth and was the first to act. Wiping out Yin and Yang he began firing the condensed chakra at the Demon brothers. Ino would have jumped in alongside him, if Shikamaru hadn't grabbed her shoulder stopping her. "We have to keep the client safe...don't worry about Naruto. I'm sure he can handle himself." Shikamaru told his blonde teammate as Naruto was closing the distance between the Demon brothers and himself. He then added more chakra to his next shot, firing the condensed shot at the middle of their shared chain. Giving enough force to pull them back and off balance, all while he put his guns back into their holsters. Leaping into the air and summoning the demon sword Kurama.
As he swung his large demonic sword at the two assassins. However he didn't expect the two of them to detach the chain between them and ran around the blond. "Damn it...I need to turn and catch them!" "You can only catch one of them quick enough kit...use it now!" Kurama said inside of Naruto as Naruto growled. Extending his open hand towards one of the Demon brothers, it was then covered by bright orange and red chakra. And much like the astral energy used by Nero's Devil Bringer, the chakra claw stretched out and grabbed the brother by the back of the head. Being yanked back by the angered Uzumaki like a bungie cord.
Said blonde used this to slam the brother against one of the trees. Smacking him hard enough to snap said tree in half...and break the assassin's back. But while he took care of one of the mist chunin, the other brother made a mad dash at Tazuna and the other two genin. That was until he was stopped to a haul.
"W...what the hell?" The brother said in shock before noticing that he only moved to when the pineapple headed genin did. "So troublesome. Its a good thing I set that up when Naruto went to use his sword." The Nara genius said as he reach to his back pouch to pull out a few kunai. Of which the demon brother didn't have any, and before he could think fast enough, Shikamaru had thrown his kunai at the same time he canceled his Shadow possession. Causing the rogue churning to receive the kunais in his shoulders and in his kneecaps.
With both assassins neutralized and crippled, Anko and Dante leapt out from the shadows smiling. "Not a bad job you guys...but Naruto you need to work on keeping calm during situations like this. You could have gotten hurt." Dante said while waving his finger in Naruto's direction. While said blonde sighed and pulled his headset up over one of his ears. "You guys are dicks." Was all he said before looking back and checking on Ino. During which Dante and Anko began interrogating the two Mist rogue ninja. After several screams and soiling of pants they broke down. Telling them about the truth behind the mission and Tazuna's involvement.
"Is that all? Or do I need to have my partner here show you a few tricks she can do with a few snakes and a knife?" Dante said playing the 'good cop' in this scenario. Of which made the two pale before declaring that their boss will be waiting to slaughter them. With that note out in the open, Dante sighed and summoned his devil sword and decapitated the both of them. However, after he did so, the bodies began turning to dust before disappearing completely. This actually shocked the notorious devil hunter. "How is that even possible? That only ever happens to demons once they are slain." Dante thought before making his weapon vanish again.
"Okay old man Tazuna," the Devil hunter said while regaining his compositor real quick. "You have some major explaining to do…" "Why did you request a C-Rank mission instead of an A-Rank?!" Anko asked loudly, interrupting her Co-Sensei. It didn't take long until they got the information that the old bridge builder was holding back from them. "...Alright...we'll still do it." The devil hunter said making not only his students, but Anko as well, look at him in shock and disbelief. "Are you crazy Dante!?" Shouted the violet haird kunoichi.
"No...I know we can handle this. Besides, he may have lied to us. But only because he didn't have enough to pay for such a high rank." The red clad protector said before smiling and giving a thumbs up. "Come on, with odds like this...it will be one hell of a party."
[Elsewhere]
A man wrapped in bandages, a mist headband, and a large sword, was sitting in a dark room. Voices echoing in his head over and over. "Power! blood! death! kill! annihilate! slaughter!" Over and over these voices plagued the man. "Zabuza-Sama." A calm, quiet voice said causing the man too look up at the kneeling woman. "What now Haku?" He grumbled out as he looked over to the one he called a tool.
"The Brothers have been killed, by a group of three Genin and two Jonin. They seem to be protecting the bridge builder Tazuna." The woman said, still kneeling and not raising her gaze. "The two Jonin...who were they?" The man said looking to the woman more intensely. Unfazed by his gaze or question, she replied. "Anko the snake witch, and a white-haired man wearing red." "DANTE! SON OF SPARDA! TRAITOR'S BLOOD!" The man known as Zabuza gripped his head tightly. The voices growing louder and more painful. Standing up and grabbing his sword, he opened his eyes again. "Then let's finish this job Haku."
