Chapter 8: Taziri

The Trux were chasing after a group of thieving Slamtools that had just stolen a batch of their ore. The Trux were lucky they weren't tied down by those Tools. "I'm getting really tired of those thieving Slamtools stealing our ore!" Dozer shouted angrily. "Yeah. You think after everything they went through while working with D-Structs, they'd learn from their mistakes." Skya said. "Uh, I think that's kinda the problem, dude. They don't think at all." Ton-Ton said. "Remind you of anyone, Ton-Ton?" Dozer asked. Ton-Ton thought about it. "Oh. Touché." He said in realization.

The Slamtools were close to getting away. Ty rode off a ramp and landed in front of them. "Going somewhere?" He asked tauntingly. The Slamtools suddenly broke off into several groups. "Heads up! They're splitting up!" Ty called. The Trux split up to after each group of Slamtools.

Dozer turned a corner as he chased after his group, but saw that the Slamtools were knocked down, slightly twitching with sparks of electricity. And the ore was gone. "What the Tool?" He asked in surprise.

Ton-Ton chased after his Slamtool group. "Come on, dudes! You're making this too easy for me!" He called. The Slamtools turned a corner. But when Ton-Ton turned the corner, he found the Slamtools the same way Dozer found his group. "Whoa. What just happened?" He asked.

Ty and Skya chased after their Slamtool groups. "Ty, they're coming around that boulder!" Skya called. "Circle around! We'll surround them and take 'em by surprise!" Ty called. As the 2 Slamtool groups circled around the boulder to meet up with each other, Ty and Skya came in from both sides. But they found the Slamtools in the same stage the others were in. "Whoa." Ty said in surprise. "What happened to them?" Skya asked. "And where's our ore?" Ty asked. Little did they know, an unseen Reptool was scurrying away from the sight.

Later, the Trux regrouped and drove back to the garage. "That's the third time this week that those Slamtools stole our ore!" Dozer said. "And every time we go after them, we find them shocked and our ore gone!" Skya said. "But who would be stealing the ore from the Slamtools after they stole from us? And who has the power to shock them like that?" Ty asked. "Who knows." Dozer said. "Let's try to figure it out in the morning.

That night, in Shockarachnid Canyon, the unseen Reptool was setting down and eating the ore she took from the Slamtools. "Aah. Those Trux sure know how to pick their ore. So many different kinds." The Tool said as she ate. Just then, a Shockarachnid came up to the Tool, bearing its electric mandibles. But the Tool didn't even flinch. Instead, a couple of appendages came out of its sides and attached in front of its head, creating a similar appendage like the Shockarachnid's mandibles. The 2 then started trying to shock each other. After repeatedly avoiding getting shocked, the Tool managed to scurry her way onto the Shockarachnid's back and delivered a hard shock to the Shockarachnid. "Good try, Murray." The Tool said. As it turns out, the Tool and the Shockarachnid were best friends of sorts, due to both being able to produce an electric shock.

The next morning, Ty and Dozer met up with Revvit in the garage to discuss the situation from yesterday. "So, you say when you found each of the Slamtool groups, they were electrocuted?" Revvit asked. "That's right." Ty said. "Looked like a Shockarachnid got to them first." Dozer said. "Maybe. Did you actually see any Shockarachnids when you found the Slamtools?" Revvit asked. "Uh, no. No trace of Shockarachnids. Not a single footprint. No wires either." Dozer said. "Hmm. Then what could've done such a thing?" Revvit asked, spinning his bits. Over in a corner, Dil listened to their conversation. Her thoughts on what they were talking about shifted to a Tool she knew way back.

"Ty! Dozer!" Skya called from outside. "What's going on, Skya?" Ty asked. "It's the Slamtools! They're stealing our ore again!" Skya called. "Oh no, they don't!" Dozer yelled, driving fast out to catch them. "We'd better go help." Ty said. "Right." Revvit said as he and Dil hopped onto Ty as he drove out.

Outside, Skya and Ton-Ton were trying to catch the Slamtools. "I got you Slamdudes now!" Ton-Ton called, ramping off and flipping over to catch the Slamtools in his bed. But the Slamtools scattered away before Ton-Ton landed. "Aw man!" Ton-Ton whined. "Don't worry, Ton-Ton! I'll get 'em for you!" Skya called. She readied her hook like a lasso to try and rope the Slamtools. But unfortunately, the Slamtools scampered away as she tossed her hook. It hooked onto a tree branch instead. "Aw, shoot." Skya groaned.

The Slamtools slammed their heads in a chuckling matter and scurried behind a rock. But then, the Tool blocked their path. "Sorry, Slammers. But I'll be taking that ore off your paws." She said, forming her shocker appendage. The Slamtools weren't intimidated and prepared for a fight. "Not running? Big mistake." The Tool said, lunging in to shock them.

Ty, Dozer, Revvit and Dil finally met up with Ton-Ton and Skya. "They went around that boulder." Skya said. They drove towards the boulder and turned the corner, finding the Slamtools shocked like the yesterday and the ore gone. "AGH! AGAIN WITH THIS!" Dozer shouted. "It's just like yesterday. The Slamstools are shocked and the ore is gone." Ty said. Revvit and Dil hopped down and investigated the damage. "Hmm. This seemingly looks like Shockarachnid handywork, but there are no Shockarachnid tracks." Revvit said. "Not Shockarachnid tracks. Reptool tracks." Dil said, looking at a set of tracks. Revvit and the Trux looked at the tracks. "You're right, Dil. These are Reptool tracks." Revvit said. "But how'd you know?" Ty asked. "I know a certain Tool who makes tracks like these. And if my hunch is correct, I know exactly where these tracks will lead us." Dil said.

Dil's hunch was right. The tracks had led them to- "Shockarachnid Canyon?! Why did it have to be Shockarachnid Canyon?!" Dozer asked out of anger and fear. "Why would any Tool want to come here?" Ty asked. "It's because she relates herself to Shockarachnids. Thereby, she comes around here a lot." Dil explained. "How does she relate to Shockarachnids?! They're so creepy!" Dozer complained. "It's best if I show you. Follow me." Dil said, walking into the canyon. Ty, Ton-Ton, Skya and Revvit followed, leaving Dozer behind for a while. "Well, this is an unfortunate day. A T-Trux, an Ankylodum and a Craneosaur would go into a Shockarachnid filled canyon where a Dozerotops dare not? Oh, I'd never hear the end of it!" Dozer said fearfully as he finally followed.

Meanwhile, the Slamtools met up with the rest of their pack. They explained through their head-slamming language to their leader. The leader, who a scratch scar across his face, was miffed at this news. For this had been happening for the last few days. He got really sick of it. It was time for him to come up with a plan to take all the ore the Trux had. But this time, they would steal it with the entire pack.

The Trux continued to follow Dil. "You sure this Tool is even here?" Dozer asked. "Trust me. I know this Tool. She'll be here." Dil said. Just then, a group of Shockarachinds appeared, surrounding the Trux. "Shockarachnids!" Ty called. "This is great!" Dil said. "How is this great?!" Dozer asked. "If there are Shockarachnids around, I guarantee that the Tool I know will be here too." Dil said. The Shockarachnids started up their mandibles, ready to shock any Trux that moved. "I hate it when they look at us like that!" Dozer exclaimed. Then, the Shockarachnids leapt into action. "Incoming!" Ton-Ton called. Ty swung his tail at the Shockarachnid coming towards him. "Heads up, Dozer!" Skya called, latching her hook onto one coming at Dozer. She then tossed it at the canyon wall. "Thanks, Skya." Dozer said. Ton-Ton avoided a couple Shockarachnids trying to latch onto him. "Gotta be quicker than that, Shocka-dudes!" He said. Just then, a Shockarachnid shot a wire onto his bed. "Uh, I didn't mean that!" Ton-Ton said. As the Shockarachnid started to pull itself closer to him, Ton-Ton spun it around, smashing it into the canyon wall.

"HEY!" A voice called. The Trux turned to see the Shockarachnids making way. The Tool walked up to the Trux, looking angry. "You're trespassing on our territory!" She said. "We're just here for our ore." Ty said. "Sorry, T-Trux. But I stole that ore fair and square!" The Tool said. "Yeah, when it was stolen from us!" Dozer exclaimed. "Hey, them's the breaks. That ore belongs to me now. So, leave or get shocked." The Tool said, forming her appendage. "She's a Mechtool too!" Revvit said. Hearing that made the Tool confused. "How do you know about my kind?" She asked. "That would be because of me." Dil said, revealing herself. "Dil? Is that you?" The Tool asked in surprise. "Hello, Taziri." Dil said. "Oh, my Tool! It's been forever!" The Tool named Taziri said happily.

"Wait. You know this Tool?" Dozer asked. "Of course. Taziri's my best friend. She and I grew up together before I came to the crater." Dil said. "Indeed. We were inseparable before she decided to leave." Taziri said. "Not long after I left, I heard that you decided to leave on your own too." Dil said. "Yeah. Life was great back home, but it felt like it was time for me to go out there and see what needs to be seen. You know?" Taziri said. "And yet you decided to choose the canyon filled with Shockarachnids?!" Dozer asked loudly. "I'm a Tazer Mechtool. I kinda relate to the Shockarachnids." Taziri said, showing off her appendage. "Yeah, okay. Just be careful where and who you're pointing that thing." Dozer said.

"Wait. I'm sorry. Who're you guys?" Taziri asked, forgetting introductions. "Oh, sorry. Taziri, these are my new friends. This is Ty, Ton-Ton, Skya, Dozer, and Revvit." Dil introduced. "Oh, you're those Trux. I've heard about you." Taziri said. "Nice to meet you too." Ty said. The Shockarachnids got into a threatening position. "Whoa, whoa! Easy, Murray. It's okay." Taziri said. "And you named them. Big surprise." Dozer groaned. "What's your problem?" Taziri asked. "Dozer's not a big fan of Shockarachnids. He's still miffed from what happened last time he got bitten." Skya said. "I had every right to be miffed! Their bite caused me to go only backwards!" Dozer exclaimed. "Oh yeah. I think they told me about that." Taziri said.

"Wait. You still need to tell us why you stole our ore from the Slamtools who stole it from us." Ty said. Taziri sighed, figuring it would come to that. "Well, it's kinda complicated. I'm not a very good ore scavenger. But then I saw the Slamtools with all that ore tied to their backs. And since I know how despicable Slamtools are, I just decided to steal it from them. I didn't think the ore belonged to anyone." Taziri said. "Well, it does! It belonged to us when those Slammers stole it!" Dozer exclaimed. "Dozer, relax!" Skya said. "No, he has every right to be mad at me. I'm sorry." Taziri said.

"TY!" Waldo called. The Trux turned to see Waldo, Ace, Click-Clack and Xee flying in on Dragonflopters. "What's going on, guys?" Ty asked. "The Slamtools! They're back! And there's even more of them!" Click-Clack explained. "There were so many of them, they're probably tipping the ore station over as we speak!" Ace said. "NO! No more Slammers stealing our ore!" Dozer yelled, driving out. "Dozer! Wait!" Ty called. But Dozer was too far ahead. "I've known Dozer as long as you guys, and I've learned to never come between him and his ore. Especially when he's really hungry." Skya said. "But Dozer is right. We need to stop the Slamtools before they steal our entire ore supply." Revvit said. "Say, Taziri, you want in on this action?" Dil asked. "Anything to shock some Slamtools." Taziri said.

Meanwhile, Dozer was dozing up the Slamtools. "Step away from the ore station you hammer-headed mallet heads!" He exclaimed as he continuing dozing through the Slamtools. But they just kept on coming. "Oh, this is hopeless. There's just too many." Dozer said, feeling outnumbered. "Not while we're around!" Ty called as he and the others joined in the fight. "DUU-HU-HU-HUDE!" Ton-Ton yelled, ramping into several Slamtools. "Let's go, Click-Clack." Revvit said as he and Click-Clack dismounted Ty. They started firing their bits at the Slamtools. "Man, I actually forgot how fun this was." Click-Clack said. "Speak for yourself! We're getting surrounded!" Waldo said. "That's why I brought help." Taziri said. Her Shockarachnid friends, who were riding on Ty and in Ton-Ton's bed, leapt off the Trux and joined in the fight. They started shocking some of the Slamtools, but others started hopping onto them and slamming their hammers on their heads.

Ty slammed away a few more Slamtools. But the Slamtools just kept on coming. "They're still coming!" Ty called. "There's no way they could want our ore that badly!" Dil said, knocking another one away with her drill. "Duh! Of course, they do. We gathered so many kinds of ore, any bad Trux or Tool would want it as bad as they do!" Ace said, smacking another one with her tail. "What do we do now, dudes?!" Ton-Ton asked. "Wait! I have an idea!" Dozer called. "What is it, Dozer?" Ty asked. "Taziri, you're a Mechtool, right?" Dozer asked. "Yeah." Taziri said. "Well, I think you and I are the key to winning this fight." Dozer said.

The Slamtools continued to advance. "Okay, you ready?" Taziri asked. "Let's get supercharged!" Dozer said. Taziri hopped up and clamped onto Dozer's horn. Then she formed her tazer appendage and Dozer supercharged up. "Oh yeah! It's tazing time!" Dozer yelled. He dropped his blade and began dozing the Slamtools with an additional shocking effect from Taziri's tazer. "This…is…AWESOME!" Taziri cheered as they continued dozing and shocking the Slamtools. Just then, the Slamtool leader came in and hopped on Dozer. "Hey! We got a stowaway!" Dozer called. "You keep up the dozing. I'll handle our uninvited guest." Taziri said. She detached from Dozer's horn, shutting down his supercharge, and went to confront the Slamtool. Dozer just kept on dozing the other Slamtools.

Taziri climbed to Dozer's back, right to where the lead Slamtool was. "Get off of my Trux!" Taziri warned. The lead Slamtool just ignored her warning and went to attack her. Taziri dodged the attack and pushed back. Both Tools struggled against each other. "You're not getting their ore! It doesn't belong to you!" Taziri said. The lead Slamtool shoved her off and started pounding his head on Dozer's back, talking in his language. "You're wrong about that. And I'll show you why." Taziri said, activating her tazer appendage. The lead Slamtool lunged towards her, but Taziri jabbed him with her tazer, shocking him. The lead Slamtool, paralyzed from the shock, fell off Dozer.

The other Slamtools saw their leader fall and scurried over to help him. As the Slamtools looked up as the Trux loomed over them. "Got anything to say now?" Ty asked. The Slamtools looked at each other and just took off with their leader. "I'll take that as a no." Ty said. The others laughed at that.

Afterwards, everyone settled down to a nice ore dinner. "I gotta say, working with you guys to stop those Slamtools was a lot of fun." Taziri said. "It's even more fun when we're building." Ty said. "He is correct. We always have fun whether we're building or fighting the bad guys." Revvit said. "So, what're you gonna do now, Taziri? You gonna head back to Shockarachnid Caynon with your pals?" Dil asked. "Actually, they already left. I already talked with them earlier. I've decided to stick around." Taziri said. "Really?! You're staying?!" Dil asked in excitement. "Sure. I've been curious to see how you've been living since you left." Taziri said. "Then today's your lucky day, Taziri. We're always looking for good friends to help us out." Revvit said. "Welcome to the team, Taziri." Ty said. "Thank you. All of you." Taziri said. Dil suddenly pounced Taziri, squealing with happiness. "Oh, this is the happiest day of my life!" Dil cried as she hugged her best friend. Taziri chuckled as she hugged back. "Mine too, Dil. Mine too." She said. The others laughed.
