Same Night: Plane

In The Air

Stanford was flying a plane in the air with Steven and Jenny. Sadie's not on the plane due to her pregnancy.

Jenny explains to Steven about the map that's on her lap, "The HYDRA camp is in Krausberg. It's up between these two mountain ranges. It's a factory of some kind." She rolls up the map.

Stanford tells him, "We should be able to drop you around the doorstep."

Steven tells him, "Just get me as close as you can." He looks at Jenny, "You know, you two are gonna be in a lot of trouble when you land."

Jenny raises her eyebrow, "And you won't?"

Steven tells her, "Where I'm going, if anybody yells at me I can just shoot them."

Jenny says back, a little amused, "They will undoubtedly shoot back."

Steven says to her, "Well, let's hope it's good for something." He taps his shield.

Stanford tells him, "Agent Carter, if it's not too much to ask when we get back, I thought you could tell Agent Miller for me, that she and I could go to Lucerne for a late night fondue."

Jenny looks at Steven knowing how protective he is to Sadie, "Pines is the best civilian pilot I've ever seen. He's mad enough to brave this airspace, we're lucky to have him."

Steven asks Jenny, "So are Sadie and him…? Do they…? Fondue?"

Jenny, not answering his questions, hands him a device, "This is your transponder, activate it when you're ready and the signal will lead us straight to you."

Steven looks at it and then looks at Stanford at the front, calling out to him, "You sure this thing works?"

Stanford says, confidently, "It's tested more than you, pal."

The plane starts getting attacked, Steven gets up and goes towards the back and opens the door of the plane to jump out, Jenny shouts at him through the wind, "Get back here! We're taking you all the way in!"

Steven prepares to jump and shouts to them, "As soon as I'm free, turn this thing around and get the hell outta here!"

Jenny shouts at him, "You can't give me orders!"

Steven shouts back, "The hell I can't! I'm a captain!" He looks at her and smiles, then puts on his goggles then jumps out of the plane. Jenny looks out and sees Steven's parachute open.

The plane is still getting attacked and Stanford carefully turns the plane around.

HYDRA Base Camp / Factory:

Outside & Inside

People were working on the new HYDRA tech guns, Spinel and Dr. Ronaldo walked down the area, seeing their progress.

Dr. Ronaldo explains to her, "As you can see, production of the Valkyrie is progressing on schedule, even with components of this size."

Spinel orders him, "Increase the output by 60%. And see to it our other facilities do the same."

Dr. Ronaldo chuckles lightly, "But these prisoners, I'm not sure they have the strength."

Spinel tells him, "Then use up what strength they have left, Doctor. There are always more workers." She walks away.

A soldier walks up to Dr. Ronaldo with a clipboard and pen for him to sign as Ronaldo is still thinking on what Spinel just said and he turns to him and says frustratingly, waving him off, "Not now!"

Cell Area

Prisoners were being led to their cell, a female crystal gem by the name of Garnet, smiles and picks up her glasses because the HYDRA soldier flicked it off and puts it back on and turns to the HYDRA soldier and says, "You know, Fritz. One of these days I'm going to have a stick of my own." The HYDRA soldier doesn't respond and steps out of the cell and locks it.

Forest

Steven stays low, running sneakily through the woods, staying quiet, he stops and looks ahead to see the HYDRA Base. He hears vehicles behind him and ducks down to see trucks coming towards the HYDRA Base and runs out to the back of the last truck and jumps in, then looks up and sees two HYDRA soldiers sitting there and they look at him, "Fellas." They both get up and try to attack him, but Steven gets the upper hand as he throws them both out of the truck, both unconscious. The vehicles enter the camp.

HYDRA Base Camp / Factory:

Outside & Inside

Steven, still hidden in one of the trucks, enters the camp as the truck is parked and one of the HYDRA soldiers with an advanced gun walks up to the back and pulls the clothes aside and sees Steven's stage shield and gets hit with it, knocking him unconscious. Steven gets out and quietly goes to the opposite direction as a few men walk by, not noticing Steven. With the shield on his back, Steven quietly runs past big HYDRA tanks, while he looks around and runs up on a tank to the roof to go into the building. Inside, he knocks on a locked door and soldier #2 walks to it and opens the door to see who it was and gets hit by the door and punched in the face by Steven and goes unconscious, Steven hides him and gets in, closing the door quietly behind him and hides behind a few crates and looks around. Steven continues to sneak forward and grabs his gun, holding it up. He sees a stack of gun magazine clips, the bullets in them are glowing blue and he grabs one, looks at it and takes it and puts it in his pocket.

In another area of the building where the missing soldiers are still inside their cells while the HYDRA soldiers with guns are patrolling them. On the second balcony above the cells, HYDRA soldier #3 gets suddenly knocked out and falls on one of the cells, alarming the soldiers in their cells. The missing soldiers stand up when they see Steven getting the keys off the unconscious soldier.

A crystal gem soldier by the name of Lapis Lazuli, looks up and asks him, "Who are you supposed to be?"

Steven answers, breathing heavily, "I'm…Captain Universe."

Another crystal gem soldier in the cell with Lapis, who goes by the name of Pearl, is confused and asks, "I, beg your pardon?"

Steven opens the cell doors from below. Another crystal gem soldier comes out from another cell named Amethyst and asks, "What are we taking everybody? I'm from Brazil."

Steven walks forward through the crowd, "There anybody else? I'm looking for Sergeants Lars Barriga and Connie Maheswaren."

Pearl answers him, "There's an isolation ward in the factory. No one's ever come back from it."

Steven tells them, "All right. The tree line is northwest from here, it's 80 yards past the gate. Get out fast and give them hell. I'll meet you guys in the clearing with anybody else I find."

Lapis Lazuli stops him before he goes to leave, "Wait! You know what you're doing?"

Steven looks at them, "Yeah. I've knocked out Adolf Hitler over 200 times." He runs off, leaving the soldiers that heard him, confused. All the soldiers run out and create havoc around the factory and fight their way out.

In the control room, Spinel looks at the havoc outside from the security cameras on the T.V screen and says, "It's happening." Then she turns around and presses a button, sounding the alarms. Dr. Ronaldo behind her, gets up from his chair, also looking at the T.V screen.

Outside, Lapis, Garnet and Pearl get a hold of a tank and start shooting and destroying anything in their path. More escaped soldiers fight their way around the factory.

In the control room, Spinel was still watching the security screens and switches to different parts of the factory and stops when she sees Steven fighting the HYDRA soldiers. She leans in more a bit, watching it contently and curiously, then a moment later, she starts switching the self-destruct buttons. Dr. Ronaldo sees and rushes toward her and tries to stop her, "No, no. What are you doing?" The countdown starts from 7 minutes.

Spinel calmly tells him, "Our forces are outmatched." She points at the screen and Dr. Ronaldo turns to it and sees Steven on the screen and Spinel continues to switch the self-destruct buttons. When she's about to finish with the switches, Dr. Ronaldo runs out of the room.

In another area, Steven kicks the soldier, making him flips over the railing behind him, hitting the ground below. The alarms were still blaring as Steven looks around and gets his gun from its holster and turns to his right and continues to run and search for his friends.

With only less than 3 minutes left, Spinel picks up a tech device which contains the Tesseract and walks out the room. Dr. Ronaldo was in another area, rushing to grab his research and a map behind him that shows where the other HYDRA sites are located. As he steps out of the room with his suitcase, with a coat on and a hat on his head, he looks to his right to see Steven stop when he sees him and Dr. Ronaldo turns around and runs in the opposite direction, Steven follows but stops to look inside the room where Ronaldo was previously in and cautiously walks in the room and sees Lars strapped down on a table, mumbling to himself and rushes to him, breathing heavily, "Lars." Lars was weak from what they were doing to him and he looked at the ceiling, Steven looked at the restraints, "Oh my god." He starts breaking the straps off and Lars turns his head to the left to look at Steven, "It's me. It's Steven."

Lars smiles weakly, "Steven."

Steven helps him up, "Come on."

Lars looks at him for the first time since he left with Connie, "Steven." He says, standing in front of him now.

Steven looks at him in relief, "I thought you were dead."

Lars responds back, "I thought you were smaller."

Steven looks behind him to see the map with the HYDRA locations and memorizes it, he turns back to Lars and asks him, "Lars, where's Connie?" They started to leave the room as Steven helped Lars up.

Lars answers him as they went to the hallway, "When they took us, they dragged her to another room, in that direction." He points to the direction where Ronaldo ran to. They both ran in that direction and they both came to a stop when they hear a groaning sound coming from the room to their left and they walk inside to a room that looks just like the room Lars was previously in, but with a little more space and they see Connie in the same position Lars was in; strapped down on a table, mumbling to herself, looking upwards. Steven drags Lars to the table and lets go of him so he can help Steven to get Connie off the table and they both look at her in shock. Lars stood on her left and Steven stood on her right.

Steven puts his right hand to her cheek, touching her for the first time since they last saw each other, "Connie." He breathes out.

Connie turns her head at the sound of his voice and looks at him, a little confused, "Steven." She whispers to him. He smiles at her, then starts to break the straps off of her and she turns to Lars, "Lars." She was relieved to see him alive as well.

Lars and Steven both help her off the table, Steven supporting her up, "I'm getting you two out of here, come on."

They all run in the hallway again, both Lars and Connie supporting each other up as Steven leads the way as Connie asks, still surprised and shocked at Steven's new appearance, "What happened to you?"

Steven tells her, "I joined the army!"

Connie asks, worriedly, "Did it hurt?"

Steven simply says, "A little." Not wanting to tell her that it hurt a lot.

Lars asks this time, "Is it permanent?"

Steven again, simply answers, "So far!"

Outside, the escaped soldiers all ran out of the base.

Inside, all of the countdowns hit zero and the whole place starts to explode in different areas of the factory. On the balcony above, Steven, Connie and Lars reach the main area and see that the place is starting to blow up and Steven takes a hold of Connie's left hand with his right hand and leads them up the stairs with Lars following behind them and they run straight before they stop at the sound of a voice. Both Connie and Lars lean on the railing as they are still weak.

Spinel stands from the other balcony on the opposite side, "Captain Universe!" They turn to look at her, "How exciting!" Dr. Ronaldo was standing beside her and took the device that has the Tesseract in it from Spinel when she held it out to him, "I'm a great fan of your films." She walks on the walkway that is on her left side, Steven does the same while glaring at Spinel and they eventually meet up in the middle of the walkway, "So Dr. Priyanka managed it after all. Not exactly an improvement, but still impressive."

Steven punches Spinel hard in the face, making her stumble back and grabbing her jaw, "You got no idea."

Spinel says back to him, "Haven't I." She goes to punch Steven, but Steven protects himself with his shield, making a dent, Steven looks at it surprised and goes for his gun, but Spinel punches him back in the face, making him fall and lose the gun off the walkway and Spinel goes to attack him, but Steven kicks her with both legs up at her chest, making her fly back. Dr. Ronaldo quickly pulls a lever, making the walkway bridge separate as they both stand up again, "No matter what lies Priyanka told you, you see I was her greatest success!" She points at herself, then slowly peels off the skin on her face, revealing her pink skin, magenta eyes, her hair being styled into a pair of spiky pigtails and she also has three black lines underneath both of her eyes reminiscent of running mascara. She took off her coat that she was wearing and it showed her gemstone which was located in the center of her chest as she reveals to be a crystal gem just like the other ones, her gem was cut in the shape of an upside-down heart with lots of facets and detail. Steven, Connie and Lars looked at her in disbelief.

Lars asks Steven while still looking at Spinel, "You don't have one of those do you."

Spinel continues, "You are deluded, Captain. You pretended to be a simple soldier, but in reality-." She throws the skin mask over the balcony to the fire below, destroying it, "-You are just afraid to admit that we have left humanity behind." She walks over to the exit elevator and takes the device with the Tesseract in it back from Dr. Ronaldo, "Unlike you, I embrace it proudly. Without fear!"

Steven shouts to her, "Then how come you're running?" Spinel doesn't answer as she just presses a button on the elevator and the doors close. More areas in the building explode and they flinch back. Steven was looking for a way out and saw an exit up above them and found a way to cross it. He rushes towards both Connie and Lars to the stairs and makes Connie go in front of him as they all run up the stairs, "Come on, let's go, up."

In the elevator, Dr. Ronaldo asks Spinel, "Ma'am? Are we going to the roof?" Spinel nods and the doors open, showing Spinel's rocket-like plane outside and he turns to her and asks, "What about me? Where will I sit?"

Spinel simply hands him her car keys, "Not a scratch Doctor. Not a scratch." She walks out the elevator to her plane. The elevator doors close with Dr. Ronaldo still in it.

Inside, the three of them made it to an area where they are gonna use a makeshift bridge to get across.

In another area, Dr. Ronaldo runs to Spinel's car and throws his suitcase in it and gets in and drives fast out of there while Spinel gets in her plane and starts it, also getting out of here.

Inside, Steven tells them as he helps Connie over the railing, "Let's go. One at a time." Connie gets her balance and cautiously walks across the bridge and safely makes it to the other side and pushes herself over the railing and gestures for them to come. "Okay, Lars go." Steven helps Lars over the railing, who has a determined look on his face as he slowly and cautiously walks across the makeshift bridge. As the explosions continues, the bridge starts to break as Lars stumbles a bit, both Steven and Connie look at him very worried and scared, Lars continues to walk across and the makeshift bridge begins to break even more, he starts to run as he jumps off of it and the bridge breaks and falls down below, he grabs onto the railing where Connie is and pushes himself over as she helps him.

Lars looks at Connie as she steady's him, then they look at Steven who is still on the other side without a way to get across, Lars shouts to him, "There's got to be a rope or something!"

Steven shouts to them, "Just go! Get out of here!" He gestures for them to leave.

Connie quickly shouts back, "NO! Not without you!"

Steven quickly makes a decision and he grabs a piece of the railing they got broken when the makeshift bridge fell and with his strength, he bends the piece to the side and quickly backs up and prepares himself. Connie and Lars looks at him worriedly, Steven breaks into a run and jumps his way across as the explosions got higher and blocks him from view.

Morning: Army Base

Tent

A soldier was typing in a typewriter as a letter pops up as Colonel Dewey reads in his notebook for him to type, "Senator DeMayo, I regret to report that Captain Steven Quartz Universe went missing behind enemy lines on the third. Aerial Recognizances has proven unfruitful as a result I must declare Captain Universe killed in action. Period." Both Jenny and Sadie walked in, hearing what he said. Sadie in denial, not wanting to believe it. Jenny rubs her back, knowing it's affecting her.

Sadie stands tall, even with her pregnant belly and walks over to him with Jenny following behind her, "The last surveillance flight is back." She places the pictures on the desk, "No sign of activity."

Colonel Dewey looks at the pictures, not moving as he tells the soldier in the tent with them, "Go get a cup of coffee, Corporal."

The Corporal gets up and leaves the tent, "Yes, sir."

Col. Dewey sighs and tells them as he walks over to look outside, "I can't touch Mr. Pines, he's rich and he's the army's number one weapons contractor." He turns to look at them, "You two are neither one!"

Sadie with a straight face, doesn't look at him, "With respect, sir, we don't regret our actions. And I don't think Captain Universe did, either."

Col. Dewey looks at her sharply, "What makes you think I give damn about your opinions. I took a chance with you, Agent Miller." He glances at Jenny, "And you Agent Carter." He looks back at Sadie, "And now America's golden boy and a lot of other good soldiers are dead, cause you had a crush."

Sadie quickly denies him, "Steven is one of my best friends. It wasn't that. I had faith."

Col. Dewey stands in front of her, "Well, I hope that's a big comfort to you when they shut this division down." Then he hears commotion coming from outside, "What the hell is going on out there?" He leaves the tent. Sadie takes a deep breath before walking out with Jenny following behind.

Outside: Road Entrance Area

Colonel Dewey now with a helmet on, walks over to where all the commotion is at, with Sadie and Jenny following on his right and the soldiers stand in the way in front of the gate of what they're looking at, then suddenly they all move out of the way. Walking towards the camp were the surviving soldiers that were held captive at the Hydra factory and leading them is Captain Universe, meaning he successfully made the jump. Beside him on his left is Lars with a machine gun in hand. On Steven's right is Connie with her own handgun holstered, but already to take it out when needed. The soldiers behind them all have weapons and took a few tanks from the attack from the previous night. The soldiers from the camp all stand around them to cheer and congratulate them. They all make it to Colonel Dewey and Steven salutes him.

Steven tells him, "Some of these soldiers need medical attention." Colonel Dewey looks around, "I'd like to surrender myself for disciplinary action." Colonel Dewey goes to say something but doesn't when he hears Sadie.

"Lars!" Sadie makes her way from behind the soldiers and rushes to Lars, he sees her and adjusts his machine gun so the strap is on his shoulder behind him and hugs her tight, but without hurting the baby. She held him tightly around the neck and him around her upper waist as he nuzzled his face in her neck. Connie smiles at the exchange and grabs Steven's right hand with her left hand and puts her head on his arm, now that he is taller than her. He looks at her and they share a loving smile at one another before he looks back at Colonel Dewey, who is looking at both exchanges from Lars and Sadie to Steven and Connie.

Colonel Dewey looks back at Steven and says, "That won't be necessary." He looks at them with a faint smile on his face, Lars and Sadie pull out of the hug to see their exchange.

Steven smiles a bit, "Yes, Sir."

Colonel Dewey turns to leave and sees Lars's left arm around Sadie's waist and says to her, "Faith, huh?" He walks away.

Sadie looks at Steven, "You're late."

Steven, a little sheepish, holds up his broken transporter to show her with a small smile, "Couldn't call my ride."

Lars shouts to the soldiers around them, "Hey! Let's hear it for Captain Universe." They all clap and cheer for Steven as he looks around proud for what he did.

Connie turns Steven to her and she looks at him lovingly and leans up and kisses him for the first time since they last saw each other and he kisses back a little more deeply. They pull away and lean their foreheads together, enjoying their special moment.

At the same time, Sadie turns to Lars and he leans down and crashes his lips to hers, after a moment they pull away. Lars leans down to her belly and places his hands on her belly and kisses it, with her looking down at him with a smile. Lars leans up again and they embrace once again. Both couples enjoying their own little reunion.

Day: Award Ceremony

Senator DeMayo is standing behind a stand, speaking to the little audience that was gathered, "I am honored to present this medal for valor. To my personal friend, Captain Universe." He gestures behind him, Steven doesn't come out. "Captain Universe? Captain, that's your cue!" A man comes out and whispers something in the Senator's ear, basically saying that Captain Universe is not there.

Stan Lee, creator of Marvel, was in a military uniform suit, sitting in the audience, and said to the man beside him, "I thought he'd be taller."

Military Base

Steven was writing on a map about the locations of the HYDRA bases, he saw something when he was saving Lars, "The fourth was here in Poland, and the fifth was in Baltic and the sixth one was…about…here. 30, 40 miles west of the magical line. I just got a quick look." He looks at Sadie as she stands in front of him across the table and a soldier quickly takes the map away.

Sadie says to him, "Well nobody's perfect." She walks around the table to an even larger map on another table. Steven puts his pencil down and follows her.

Steven explains the little flag on the map to Colonel Dewey, Sadie and Jenny who now joined them, all walking towards the table, "These are the weapon factories we know about. Sergeant Connie Maheswaren said that HYDRA shipped all the parts to another facility that isn't on this map."

Colonel Dewey turns away from them and walks away as they follow him as he gives out instructions to them, "Agent Carter co-ordinate with M16. I want every allied eyeball looking for that main HYDRA base."

Sadie asks as they stop walking, "What about us?"

Colonel Dewey says to them, "We are gonna set a fire under Spinel's ass." A blonde man that goes by the name of Private Peedee Fryman, walks up to Colonel Dewey and hands him a file, looking completely bored, "What do you say, Universe?" He takes the file from him and Peedee looks at Steven, not looking bored anymore, "It's your map, you think you can wipe HYDRA off of it?"

Steven tells him, "Yes, sir. I'll need a team."

Col. Dewey informs him, "We are already putting together the best soldiers."

Steven says, "With all due respect, Sir. So am I."
