Chapter 33 Mark of Mastery
Xehanort's POV
That Night
My classmates and I were in our classroom with Master Odin.
"I see", he started. "So you were not able to find out who this mysterious cloaked man is?"
"No Master Odin", Hermod replied. "We did not. However, an interesting piece of information we did find out is that Xehanort was brought to his caretaker by a cloaked man."
"Is that so", Master Odin asked.
"Yes", Hermod replied. "It is possible that it was the same cloaked man who opened the Corridor of Darkness for Xehanort."
"I see", Master Odin replied. "Well then, I will look more into this. The six of you should go and get some rest for the Mark of Mastery ceremony tomorrow."
The Next Day
My classmates and I were watching our upperclassmen's Mark of Mastery ceremony.
All of our seven upperclassmen stood in front of Master Odin.
"The seven of you have shown the strength of each of your hearts", the latter started. "Therefore, you have passed the exam, and have earned the Mark of Mastery."
With this, Master Odin pinned a brooch containing the Mark of Mastery onto each of our seven upperclassmen's clothes.
"With this mark, I hereby grant you the title of Keyblade master", the former started. "And as Keyblade masters, it is your duty to protect the worlds from darkness. Do you accept this duty?"
"Yes Master Odin", all of the upperclassmen replied in union.
"Very good", Master Odin replied before turning to face my classmates and I. "I present to the six of you…Master Aka, Master Ki, Master Daidai, Master Midori, Master Burū, Master Murasaki, and lastly, Master Violet. May your hearts be your guiding keys."
After Master Odin said this, he turned to look at my classmates and I.
"The six of you", he started. "Work hard, and someday, you will all be masters as well.
After Master Odin said this, Vor looked down sadly.
"What is the matter Vor", Master Odin asked in concern.
"That was supposed to be all seven of us someday", Vor pointed out. "But now…Urd is never going to get to be a Keyblade master."
Hearing this made all of us sad.
"Then", Eraqus started. "We'll become Keyblade Masters for her."
"If you want that to happen, you'll have to stop being late to class Eraqus", Master Odin stated sternly.
"I'll do that", Eraqus stated. "And I'll start paying attention in class and taking my lessons seriously. I promise."
"Didn't expect to hear that coming from you Eraqus", Bragi pointed out.
"I am just as surprised as you are Bragi", Master Odin revealed. "Why the sudden change of heart Eraqus?"
"At first, I only wanted to become a Keyblade Master to get a ticket out of here", Eraqus started. "But now, I want to become a Keyblade Master to carry on the dream of my fallen friend."
Hearing this took me by surprise. But it also warmed my heart, and made me smile.
