Peter sighed as he looked at his phone, waiting for any news on his aunt. They had a bit of a scare last night when she collapsed in the kitchen making herself a late night drink and she was brought into the hospital.
He was getting a drink of coffee and needing to get to class fast. Quickly picking up his drink, he turned around and immediately stopped as his senses warned him someone was there.
That someone was a long shoulder length blonde hair and was wearing what looked like a business suit.
"Ah!" The girl cried in fear as she was almost scorched by Peter's drink.
"Sorry!" Peter apologizes as he got out of the way.
"Hey. Spider-Man." She greeted him, causing Peter to look shocked.
"Wait, what?" Peter asked.
"The drinks they're serving today." She explains and looked down at the cup he's carrying. "Today's special; Spider-Man. A brew of espresso designed to keep you on the edge of your toes."
Peter finally understands and mentally smacks himself for his stupidity. "Okay, wow. I didn't know it was called that. Sorry, I'm a bit off today."
"Hey do I know you from somewhere?" She asked as she looked closely at Peter's face.
"Uh, I don't think so." Peter says, no idea where she would see him before.
"Oh my god! That's it!" She finally said triumphantly. "You're Peter Parker!"
Peter suddenly became a bit confused as to why she knows his name. "Yeah, that's me."
"We have Dr. Conners' class together." She explains to him. "Gwen Stacy?"
"Oh my god." Peter finally remembers her, she's usually sitting behind Peter so he doesn't really see her face but knows her from class. She's one of the top students in the school. "I remember."
"You okay?" Gwen wonders.
"Uh...I'm not exactly in the best mood today. My aunt had a bit of a heart attack last night. And I can't really focus on much right now." Peter confesses.
Gwen looked around and thinks of a way to cheer him up. "You know, I might have something to help. You doing anything today?"
"Wait, what?" Peter asked. "I mean, we do have Dr. Conners class today."
"Yeah, but if you're not gonna focus on the class, what's the point?" Gwen asked with a coy smile. "Come on, one day off from his class won't hurt anyone."
Peter sighed and knew he needed a break today. "What did you have in mind?"
Gwen smiled as she saw she hooked him. "Come on, let's go somewhere it's fun." She then dragged him out to the beach fair that was in town.
As the day went on, Peter and Gwen bonded over things they had in common, and a few other things.
By the end of the day, Peter then asked Gwen out on a date.
