A few minutes later the two had met up with other heroes on the outskirts of Bookend near the Dark Forest.
"You're late," said a girl dressed as Wolverine but with a red and black color scheme. She also had a fluffy brown tail on her back side and wolf-like ears.
"Easy, Wolf, the two were probably on a date and just lost track of time," said a guy in a forest green and brown version of Hawkeye's uniform with a quiver on his back and a bow in his left hand. He also had a forest green eye mask to hide his identity.
"How about we just focus on our mission, Huntsman," said a girl in a pink and brown Shadow Cat outfit which had a cowl to cover her head.
"Sleeping Shadow is right, we have some bad guys to fight," said Iron Witch while turning toward the dark forest before shooting a flare up into the sky. This allowed everyone to see dozens of goblins standing at the edge of the tree line with a large behemoth of one behind them.
"What, only five of the Avengers could show up?" asked the large one which was the Goblin King.
"We're all that's needed to deal with you," said Iron Witch as she punched her left hand while everyone stood ready to fight.
"We'll see about that!" said Goblin King as his army charged in. Meanwhile, on the street that led into town.
"This is Blondie Locks bringing you an urgent report," said Blondie to a mirror pad that had been enchanted to follow her. She was hiding at the side of a building to stay out of sight and watch the fight.
"Five members of The Avengers are facing off against Goblin King and his Green Goblin army which just showed themselves from the Dark Forest," said Blondie as the camera turned to see the fight in progress. It got a good shot of Wolf using her claws to cut one of the goblins. Suddenly, one of the goblins was thrown into the other side of the building, causing a shockwave to shoot up through it.
"Dear Godmother," said Blondie as part of the stone roof on her side of the building came loose and was falling toward her. As she fell to her knees out of fear and waited for the building to fall on her, Blondie heard something explode overhead.
"You may want to take cover," said Iron Witch who had flown over and managed to blast the stone before it could hit Blondie.
"I will," said Blondie while grabbing the mirror pad and running away. At the same time Iron Witch flew back to fight with the goblins.
