Peter Parker as Spider-Man had been nervous as he had been sitting in a courtroom for some time; the unscrupulous New York District Attorney Sam Bullit had managed to bring charges against him for the death of Gwen Stacy from years ago and was bringing in the collateral damage that been caused by his fights into it as well. There was an official running to the sight of a villain attack that he was thwarting and when he was done he rushed in to serve Peter the papers. Luck had it that he was living with his fiancé Jennifer Walters the She-Hulk who was a lawyer who specialised in Superhuman cases; he only needed to tell her about it when he arrived home at their apartment that she interrupted saying she would serve as his lawyer pro-bono as well.

She had served pro-bono for some controversial and down on their luck superheroes before so it wouldn't raise too much suspicion on why and plus her superiors said they were all for the press such a high profile case would bring. Several Spider-Man critics especially the Daily Bugle and politicians were not quiet in saying this would be the case to bring Spider-Man to justice once and for all.

Peter was scared and worried but Jennifer told him to leave it to her and she put her experience to good work; there was a precedent of superheroes taking the stand without having to reveal their identities and Jennifer successfully argued against Spider-Man being detained outside of court and Jennifer took short work of some thugs targeting Peter Parker himself trying to get to Jennifer for her to drop representing Spider-Man.

In court the prosecutor was practically running the case as if his life depended on it was growing frustrated when Jennifer kept countering his points. She had discredited Jameson on the stand and his claims of Spider-Man's presence creating the villains he fights by bringing up Jameson himself financing the creation of the original Spider-Slayers, the Human Fly and most notably the Scorpion. She had brought up how each and every time Spider-Man had been fought to turn to crime it was always an imposter like Mysterio or Chameleon.

Jennifer discredited some more witnesses who had been paid off and someone who worked on the autopsy of Gwen who had perjured himself and been paid to try and make the x-rays look like she had suffered more than she did through the force of Spider-Man's super strength.

The prosecutor looked desperate and so did Bullit and there were rumours that they had been paid off by several powerful figures to try and use this case to go after the other Superheroes and create anti-Superhuman bills. Character witnesses of people saved by Spider-Man spoke highly of him and even several officers who were there to witness Spider-Man with Gwen looked grief stricken and about how he couldn't save her.

In the end the jury had been unanimous in finding Spider-Man not guilty and the judge allowed Jennifer to take a case against Jameson and certain individuals for slanderous remarks during the trial. Peter gave his fiancé the biggest smile underneath his mask as the verdict was read and it was music to his ears that just after the verdict was read out that Jameson made an angry outburst which made the judge hold him in contempt and had the bailiff remove him. The court was adjourned and Peter noticed that both Bullit and the prosecutor looked like they had both been handed death sentences.

There was a cheering crowd waiting Peter as he walked out the building's halls and web slinged off. Peter had found someplace to change back as he made his way to the apartment and pulled Jennifer into a hug. "I can't thank you enough Jennifer..." he had told her as Jennifer smirked while embracing him herself.

"No way that I was letting you get to the Raft and I told you not to work; this didn't even crack my top 5 toughest cases. This case was won the second that I took it on." Jennifer told him before letting so she won't be tempted to squeeze him to death.

"Your paychecks pays for most of the bills and didn't hesitate to invite me to stay at your place when I had gotten evicted. Then this and I don't know how I can repay you..." Peter muttered and Jennifer smirked as she walked to the bedroom door while swaying her legs and hips.

"If you really must insist in repaying me then I can think of one way." Jennifer said seductively with an inviting looking on her face as she unfastened the top buttons of her dress shirt.

"Jennifer Walters inviting Spider-Man to her bedroom after winning his big case for him; whatever would the media say." Peter asked jokingly as he started to follow her.

"I have survived worst scandals like when the media found out I had almost got married to Mole Man." Jennifer replied as they went through.

I remember when I think it was in my early teens when I had regularly got this UK kids magazine called Spectacular Spider-Man (this was before the cartoon) which was this magazine which had comics in its own continuity but mostly based on the 90s cartoon and it also had two page spread bios of villains or guest star heroes plus other data files of other Marvel characters and items. There was this one issue where She-Hulk guest starred in defending him when he was thought to have been behind the death of Normal Osborn (at this point he was thought to have been killed by a warehouse fire in a fight Spidey had with the Green Goblin). After the case was won Spidey was hanging on a web telling Jennifer that he could kiss her and she remarked that it wouldn't work with him upside down. Also the comic had Dr Strange using his magic powers to reveal that a cop witness had been lying about his testimony and had been paid by Harry who was blaming Spidey for his dad's death. It was actually the earliest issue I remember getting.

I am open to ideas for chapters and plot ideas for them.
