16 year old Peter Parker was angrily out as Spider-Man during late in the afternoon as he was being chased by some sort of monster getting annoyed as this was the 3rd time this week something like this was happening! It was actually getting kind of annoying and he had a date planned later that day and he would rather not have his social life ruined by Spider-Man again; especially not with a girl that he has a reasonable chance to be with. Plus who knows how J. Jonah Jameson of the Daily Bugle would spin this as his fault in the Daily Bugle. Suddenly there were magical circles slaying the monster by appearing through its body and slicing through it.
Suddenly he saw floating with his magical energy filled hands was the cloaked Sorcerer Supreme; Doctor Stephen Strange who he had met and teamed up with before and gone to with help from the monsters. "So Doc; any ideas on what these monsters are or where they came from? Why they are after me because I know why most bad guys I fight are after me but I am pretty certain that I have done nothing to those out of the universe to warrant them sending monsters after me." Peter asked as Strange sighed coming closer.
"First; give it time and i sure you will do something to annoy those out of our dimension and second patience is a virtue that will serve you will. Not only do I have other duties as Sorcerer Supreme that takes priorities but there are infinite dimensions that these creatures could have come from so I ask to be patient. Patience served me well when studying to be a surgeon as well as spending hours pleading to be let in by the Ancient One. I should be back to see you soon once I know what they are and why they could possibly be after you." Strange replied using time magic to repair Peter's suit and his injuries.
"Thanks for that Doc and I just hope that they don't spoil my date tonight; I met this girl during the Summer at Computer Camp and we had been keeping in touch and now that she had moved into Queens with her family..." Peter said as Strange put his hand up.
"As much as I would love to hear about the love life of an impatient superpowered teenager; I have some studying to do at my Sanctum Sanctorum." Strange said sarcastically before flying off as Peter then web slinged home so he could change.
Peter had changed into his civilian clothes and made his way to the house of the Winston family and was welcomed in; he embraced Amy Winston a blonde haired girl with glasses and a purple gemstone necklace around her neck a year younger than him as they were red in the face. She was a big coding and video game nerd so she was welcomed with open arms into Peter's small circle of friends at Midtown High. Amy showed Peter to her room for the start of the date which was Amy showing Peter a fantasy video game that she was working on.
"I keep having this happen..." Amy moaned as Peter was marvelling at her game but ended up crashing on Level 6, Amy went to take the portable game machine from Peter but their hands ended up touching to their embarrassment.
"One of these days we are going to have a serious falling out Spider-Sense!" Peter thought annoyed as he felt his Spider-Sense go off as they noticed a portal opening up inside the room and Peter then pushed Amy out of her room door saying to go to saftey as he then jumped out the window to Amy's worried and incredulous look.
Peter panicked and cursed his dreaded luck as he climbed to the top of the building making sure that nobody was watching and changed into his Spider-Man suit. "You are annoying pest to crush but I will separate your head from your body and we will see how the Princess of the House of Amethyst does without you!" The knight snapped after flown out and grabbed onto the top of the building to climb up.
Peter stared as there were now a flying horse being rode upon by a blonde haired teenage girl with a sword and shield and a purple dress and golden armor platings along with a purple cape. "I am going to ask Aunt May to make sure that her ingredients for her cooking wasn't out of date..." Peter thought as the girl took the knight down but looked down in shock at Peter.
"Peter; you're Spider-Man? I don't believe it; Citrina was right!" the girl said in shock and disbelief as Peter was scared that his identity was found out but the voice was familiar and the face.
"Wait Amy?" Peter asked in shock as well and out from a portal came Dr Strange.
"Mr Parker; I am a little late but I have found out that the monsters are from this dimension known as Gemworld and they are loyal remnants of the forces of Dark Opal. I have seen that you have met the Princess of the Royal House of Amethyst." Strange said as Peter was open mouthed behind his mask.
They were sitting on the roof as Amy explained that she was born on Gemworld as Princess Amaya but after she was born a dark bad guy known as Dark Opal had killed her parents and had taken over with the royal witch servant Citrina sending her to Earth and had the Winstons adopted her. She got the magical Gemstone on her 13th birthday where she was sent back to Gemworld; given the story and had saved Gemworld after defeating Dark Opal.
Peter ended up given an abridged explanation of him as Spider-Man; "So these monsters I have been fighting are because of my cute date being a secret magical princess in a mix of Steven Universe, Sailor Moon and She-Ra?" Peter asked in disbelief as Amy laughed.
"When I found out that Dark Opal's loyalists were in New York I was always meant to fight but Spider-Man ended up having it covered and Citrina kept insisting that they were after you and you had changed into the arachnid knight as she called you. I wouldn't believe it but I was scared of chasing you away if a normal nerd like I thought you were had started to have magical monsters sent after you!" Amy said as Peter took it in.
"So should I practice my bowing Princess Amy?" Peter asked with a mock bow as Amy annoyed warned him not to start acting like it. "So am I going to see Gemworld at some time please?" Peter asked as Amy sighed.
"Be warned that my advisors have it in their heads that you are my future consort." warned Amy as Peter laughed as she had just told a joke and Amy wondered how to explain to him that she wasn't kidding. They went back to Amy's room after Amy had looked away to let Peter change into his civilian clothes and she had changed back herself both glad that their fears that their double lives would drive their date away to be unfounded.
Amethyst: Princess of Gemworld was a lesser known magical fantasy story from DC Comics in the 80s and here she is based on her comics' backstory and that of the well received DC Nation animated shorts. I hope she gets her chance at a starring role in an adaptation sometime soon especially with the success of Stargirl.
