Flynn Wyle was about to join the land of the trespassed from sheer boredom and heat.

It was summer, so students and "normal" people were out of the town for holidays, making near impossible that citizens would visit the library.

The librarian had finished his Sudoku book eons ago and his phone battery had run dry, so he had nothing to do. Games one the main computer were off-limits, because the chronology would snitch him and he had already read all the books he had been interested in. There were still a couple he wouldn't have minded taking a look at, but they were both out, so that was also a dead end.

Should Flynn attempt to find some rare gems? Or would he resolve to re-read some of the novels he liked?

The man stood from his sweltering spot and went to look for a hail-Mary that would save him from melting into a puddle.

The librarian was walking by the Astronomy section when he heard a faint buzzing and the clacking of tin. Intrigued, the man went to investigate and discovered an unusual sight: a trio of ghost bees were huddled around a mint tin-case and seemed to quarrel over one of its candy.

Having nothing better to do, Flynn walked closer to see what was the fuss about… And there, he discovered this peculiar forgotten mint tin-case which upper cover was shaped like an Ouija Board. The mint even looked like a planchette!

Fascinated, he watched as the bees attempted to shift the mint with little success. Were they trying to ask something? Or was it just a coincidence?

The librarian quietly came near the trio, in order not to set them off, but they completely ignored him in favor of finding an agreement. As a matter of fact, few minutes later, the movements became more coordinated, so they managed to shift the planchette to five letters. Had air not been so hot, Flynn would have frozen up.

"β„šπ•Œπ”Όπ”Όβ„•"

Were this insects intelligent enough to know the meaning behind the Latin alphabet and English words or had this anything to do with being ghosts?

Having nothing better to do and being genuinely interested, Flynn slowly leaned forward with an index to tentatively touch the mint. When he made contact and the bees still didn't react, the librarian slowly moved it to the "ℕ𝕠". That seemed to distress the tiny spirits, so he hastily added "π•Žβ„π•€β„‚β„ β„šπ•Œπ”Όπ”Όβ„•?"

The trio quieted down, then, as one, they took over the mint and answered with "𝕋ℍℝ𝕀𝔸𝔼". While the librarian could have thought that the word may have no sense, his ten years of experience told him that it sounded Greek. Literally. So he had to research.

With a hasty "π•Žπ”Έπ•€π•‹ ℍ𝔼ℝ𝔼", Flynn left them to go and search through the Languages section, then the Mythology section for that word. It took him 15-20 minutes, but then he came back to the bees, who seemed intent in grooming themselves.

To gather their attention (since his presence seemed "invisible" to them), the man tapped the mint, then proceeded to explain his findings: "𝕋ℝ𝕀𝕆 𝕆𝔽 β„•π•π•„β„™β„π•Š, β„™π”Έπ•‹β„π•†β„•π•Š 𝕆𝔽 π”Ήπ”Όπ”Όπ•Š".

"𝕐𝕖𝕀. π•„π•†π•‹β„π”Όβ„π•Š. π•Žβ„π”Όβ„π”Ό?" The bees asked, staring to buzz a rhythm tha could have been considered a song. Were they excited?

Flynn was about to answer, when sounds of footsteps shook him from his "trance" and the youngest offspring of the Fentons peeped from behind a bookshelf.

β€’ Oh, Mr. Wyle! Sorry for startling you, I was just looking for… β€’ The boy trailed off, taking in the scene.

β€’ Oh, Danny, just the right person at the right time! β€’ The librarian beamed and ignored the muttered "story of my life" from the teen. β€’ Now that your parents are finally okay with ghosts and they have bonded… er, have an understanding with that beautiful spirit that presented herself as Pandora, do you think you they could contact her? These little ladies are in dire need of help.

The teen walked forward, curious of who and what those tinies were and wanted. Surprisingly, his advent was acknowledged by the bees, who buzzed differently from before. Danny crouched down to be at eye level with the spirits and hummed pensively.

β€’ Yes, I think I can help. Pandora's Lair is full of Greek Mythological figures, so the Thriae should be there. It was lucky that I forgot my mints here, right? β€’ The boy stressed sardonically to no one in particular, but Flynn made no mind, after all there could be invisible ghosts in the room.

β€’ Indeed! Say Danny, do you mind leaving behind a couple of those mints? Since its scent attracted the ghost bees, new others could need assistance to get "home", if lost. I'll make a mini Ouija Board so they'll be able to communicate with me and I could send them directly to Lady Pandora, what do you think?

β€’ That sounds great! β€’ The teen gently gathered the insects with one hand and popped open the tin-case with the other, offering it to the librarian, who picked up two mints.

β€’ I should have guessed that these were yours, Danny. β€’ Flynn chuckled. β€’ A gag gift in Amity's library near the Astronomy section?

β€’ Yeah, Sam thought it was funny. β€’ The boy huffed fondly. β€’ I'll go and bring these ladies to the Portal. Any luck with the AC?

β€’ Ugh, please Danny, don't remind me of my misery. β€’ The man deflated, suddenly feeling the sweltering again after forgetting about it in the sacred frenzy of research.

The boy pocketed the mints and eyed sympathetically the adult. β€’ I know a trick Tucker taught me, can I take a look at it?

β€’ Be my guest, it's beside the main desk. β€’ Flynn pointed and accompanied him with the Mythology and Greek book still under his arm.

Once reached the faulty device, the teen that had started taking refuge in the library almost ten years before to (temporarily) escape from his parents' irresponsible and (most of the time) messy and dangerous experimenting along with his sister, tinkered with the buttons then he slapped the grid.
A few seconds later a breath of cool air wonderfully chilled the two of them, who sighed in relief.

β€’ Thank you, Danny! You're a lifesaver. β€’ The 30-something old man wanted to drape himself on the AC grill, but he had enough dignity to just settle to a hand on it to feel the chill.

β€’ You're stuck here waiting for people, it's the least I could do. Besides, β€’ the raven haired raised the hand with the bees on the palm, β€’ trying to help them certainly got you brownie points.

That startled a laugh from the librarian, who settled behind the main desk after saying goodbye to the three spirits and his favorite "costumer".

Greek mythology propped open on the side and history search be damned, Flynn Wyle began working on his new and customized version of the Ouija Board for whenever any bee would make a visit to his workplace.

Probably this would mean less dull moments in his work time…

A/N. I was at loss when I started looking out for what to do on Day 05, because "Fairy Circles" called me, but nothing good came out of my muse (the tentative plot would have been: Dash found one while walking his dog, then he would have dragged Kwan, Paulina and Star to come and look… There would have been Fae Folk… but then my mind drew blank ( Β°Π”Β°)).
But then!
captainkirkk reblogged this post on Tumblr (please check on Ao3 the fic with the same name of this chapter for the link) and I found my purpose. (*‒̀ᴗ‒́*)و Μ‘Μ‘
When I searched for who pollinates mint and bees were one of the option, I dived after the idea.
Then I looked up for how bees are depicted in folklore and Thriae was the triad of nymph who is said to be patrons of them (while also being among the first to be oracles).
So here they are, those tiny fluffy ghost bees searching for a way home!

By the way, they weren't able to see Flynn, because in order to be able to communicate with the board (and so overcome whatever language barrier) they would have had to be on a different plane of existence.
They would have been seen, but not tangible, "know" many languages (AKA let the board auto-translate what they wanted to convey) but not aware of anything outside the spiritual plane. This was also why they could see Danny and so ask him help as well.

As for the precedent Danny (and Jazz) had with Flynn, they got out the Fentonworks to stay away from a dangerous experiment and ended in the town library since it was Jazz leading the way.
Moreover, the place was quiet, so it was ideal to calm down after the scare (count that both Danny and Jazz in this AU had been under 10 years old, so silence was a good thing after the chaos at home).
Flynn had been a new recruit, who had aided the duo until Maddie and Jack had come in search for their children. Since it was safer and Danny and Jazz were more comfortable in the library, they would be "dropped"/allowed to stay there whenever the scientists would do an experiment.
So. Pretty much always.
This is why Danny and Flynn are so casual with each other, even though the Mr. Wyle had stuck since childhood. (qο½₯-ο½₯)

If you recognized anything familiar with Flynn Wyle, it's because I mixed the names of the main character of "The Librarian" movie trilogy (Flynn Carsen) with the actor's that plays that role (Noah Wyle). It seemed fitting! γ€œ(Β°wΒ°)γ€œ

All of this being said, I hope you liked this, type ya tomorrow!
