William Lancer was a good teacher.
(Sometimes he had his moments where he "read the room" wrongly, but since he was only human, it was understandable.)

Thus, this was why, when for once Daniel Fenton got in his class not only in time, but early with two guests in tow, he didn't scold him or freak out.
He merely looked at the boy, waiting for him to say something, but the teen just stopped beside the teacher's desk and fidgeted uncertainly.

โ€’ Mr. Fenton, I presume that you are here to ask for the same arrangement of the last visit. โ€’ The teacher stated neutrally. Relief washed on the raven haired (Ha! Pun intended) face.

โ€’ Yeah, they won't disturb the other students or the lesson if unprovoked, we promise. โ€’ The two avian ghosts nodded in agreement, the first from the boy's nest-like hair and the second (the larger and the one who William had already met) from the boy's shoulder.

โ€’ I have to ask, though. Why two this time? โ€’ The man eyed the birds: the newcomer was smaller than the other and had gray patches on his wings and torso.

โ€’ Oh, they're cousins. This one, the Crow, โ€’ Danny gently poked the black-gray one on his head, who affectionately nibbled his finger, โ€’ has been hurt by another ghost in the Zone, so the Raven brought it here to recover in a safe place. โ€’ The teen petted the other bird-of-prey, who puffed out in pride of its achievement.

โ€’ Are your parents aware of this? โ€’ William asked cautiously (read: "should I cover for you if they ask?").

โ€’ Yeah, they even patched it up, so it'll recover faster. Mr. Lancer, now that they have permanently allied with Phantom, they became pretty chill with peaceful ghosts, especially tinies like these ones, you know? โ€’ Danny said with a genuine smile that did wonders to calm the man's troubled mind.

โ€’ Very well. Will they become invisible during the lesson? โ€’ The teacher went back to the matter at hand, since the start of the lesson was approaching.

โ€’ The Raven will, but the Crow is still too weakened to manage invisibility for a long time, unfortunately. โ€’ The boy grimaced, contrite.

โ€’ Don't worry, I'll deal with it at the start of the class. You can go to your seat, if there's nothing else you wanted to tell me, that is. โ€’ William gifted his student with a small smile to reassure him.

โ€’ Ah, there's nothing else, thank you Mr. Lancer! โ€’ The Fenton kid hurried to his desk to join his friends that had slid inside the classroom while they had been talking.

The trio plus the ghosts seemed content, so William enjoyed the scene. They didn't get to be this serene inside high school classrooms nowadays, so glimpses of something like this were nice.

As soon as the bell rang, the professor rose from his seat and addressed the students, who quieted down almost immediately. โ€’ As you have certainly noticed, today we will be joined by two guests, โ€’ he nodded towards Fenton's desk and the Raven made a brief appearance when everyone's eyes converged on them, โ€’ but there's no reason to be distracted or feel threatened. If you leave them unmolested, they will offer you the same courtesy. Is that clear? โ€’ He added sternly, staring down at Baxter, who gulped and nodded frantically.

Pleased by the response, William began his lesson, which progressed (for once) uninterrupted until the end.
Occasionally the man had glanced to the birds, noticing that the crow, like the raven had done previously, kept preening its perch, who didn't seem to mind, since Danny was focused on the blackboard.

After the bell rang once more to signal the end of the hour and change of subject, the boy and his temporary "familiars" passed by his desk and thanked Lancer again for the opportunity, but the man waved him off: he was a good teacher and, if this allowed Danny to learn better and feel more comfortable in class, this had been the least he could do.

A/N. I love so much the theme "Summoning" (and I used at least twice during the past Ectoberhaunts prompts), but "alas", the Crow took precedence! xD

I had this in mind as soon as I read the prompt "Crow", so it had to be done.

I know that I used/mentioned the Raven in my past fics, but I promise you that this December your curiosity will be satisfied! (*โ€ขฬ€แด—โ€ขฬ*)ูˆ ฬ‘ฬ‘

Now onto the last prompt! Halloween is knocking! ( ฮ” โ—Š ฮ” )

Hope you liked this, type ya tomorrow!

Will Day 31 be Insomnia or Blood Moon? Check in "Domestic Phantoms" and you'll find out!
