Author's Note: This chapter would be the kind of backstory I created for the boy and girl from the last chapter

Kazu awoke knowing that today was the day that he had been waiting for. They were all going out today as a family to their favorite place. It was something that he always looked forward to and was rather disappointed that it had been discontinued a few years ago. Though now it was back and Kazu could not wait to return there once again. Though the biggest difference between the last time he went and this time would be that Kazu has a little sister now.

In a nearby room, Azumi awakes from her slumber today as she was told that they were going somewhere today. She had glad that she had been adopted into this family. She was worried that there would not be a family that wanted her because of how old she was. She was not that old but some couples wanted younger kids or babies for various reasons.

Walking over to her closest she opens it to reveal a dress that she had set aside for it was the one that she was going to be wearing today when was another reason she was looking forward to today.

In the orphanage where she had lived all her life until now. She was mostly raised as a tomboy because she was surrounded mostly by boys. The girls that used to be around with her had all been adopted before she could recall. Thus rather than getting clothes just for her the staff just got her the same clothes as the boys because of what they said were money issues.

So looking over the dress it would be the first one that she would have worn in a long time. She wondered how this would look on her and what her new family would think.

Getting ready and fully dressed that when she heard a knock on her door and when to answer it

Apparently, Kazu had come to wake her up as he did not want to be late today as this event. It was a popular one that was being restored once again after being discontinued for a long time now. So the crowd that should show up would be large if they were late to it.

So he arrived at the door and knocked to see if she was still asleep and if wake her up.

"What is it, Kazu," Azumi asked as she was already up and dressed already as she answered the door.

"So you have already dressed than that...Ummm..." he said as she was fully dressed and he was still in his pajamas having just gotten up.

"Looks like she beat you to it. In fact, it seems that you are the only one that does not seem dressed" his father stated.

Kazu looked to see that his mother was also dressed as well leaving him the odd one out at the moment. Feeling embarrassed he rushed to start getting dressed as he did not want to be the reason they were late after all.

"So how do I look...mom," Azumi asked after Kazu left to get dressed.

"I knew that dress would fit you perfectly when I saw. Also are you sure that you want that? I know that you have not worn much dress before now" her mother asked.

Azumi shook her head as she always wanted a dress like this and could not have one before. She was not able to get one from the staff that helped raise her at the orphanage. Thus she was glad to have one now.

Her mother wonder just what was going on there at the time as they might have been having money issues but not allow her to at least have the chance to wear clothes more fitting for a girl her age.

Getting everything together quickly after Kazu and came back, He and the rest of the family were ready to go. It was decided that they would walk there to avoid the crowd and any possible traffic at all. It was not that far away from where they lived, after all, a decent walk sure but that was it.

Azumi was getting used to this city her family lived and was amazed at how much Kazu knew about this event they were going to

Kazu held Azumi's hand as they walked with him pointing forward ahead of them.

"I can not wait to show you everything there. I am sure that you are going to love it" he told his little sister happily

" I want to see them as well," Azumi said as though she was not visible happy as her big brother. That was just what was visible as she was happy just was not showing that well

Looking back at them their father was rather happy as the two were bonding as siblings just like he had hoped they would. While his wife was walking more along with their kids just happy that her family was all together and bonding like this.

Wanting this moment to last forever as she always wanted to be a family like this forever. It was just random passing thought she had. Though the old saying is careful what you wish for was put into play.

It was at this moment that there was seemingly an impact that causes a wave to ripple across the planet causing a blinding light to be seen. One so bright that the sunlight was being outshined by it. This process might have only lasted a moment or two though there was nothing that anyone did about it afterward. There would be no reporting on this on the news or people using social media to get the word out about this at all.

The reason for this was that everyone had been petrified by the light that shone over them in more ways than one. No one was moving afterward cause they literally were unable to do so. There was nothing but seven billion statues in place of people that this point.

The same was true of Kazu, Azumi, and their family as the four of them were now just a set of statues that were still wearing the clothes they had been from before. Their clothing is unaffected by the change to their body to be completely one thing alone.

The expression of eagerly looking forward to showing off something he loved to his new little sister. That was frozen on Kazu's face as his mouth would remain why open that next thing he was going to say now never able to leave his lips.

'Huh!? What going on why can I move at all' Kazu's thought within the darkness that now surrounded not just him but everyone else that had been turned to stone as well

Struggling for a while as he was worried about Azumi and how she must be at the moment. He was not sure if this was affecting only him or if it was spread to her as well. They were holding hands after all.

Azumi's expression which did not reflect what she was truly feeling would now never do so as it was frozen on her stone face.

'Why have we stopped' she thought as she noticed how they were no longer moving forward anymore

Trying to move but failing, she was wondering if this was only her that was going through this. Was her brother dealing with this as well as not being able to move? What about her parents were they dealing with the same thing as well.

'At least Kazu is holding my hand' Azumi thought.

However, that was there was something else she thought about after all the other things that she could have thought about first.

'What going to happen to my dress' Azumi thought

She did not want to get it ruined for it was a gift from her mother. This first one she got even though that she did not ask for it. Sure her mother said that she got it for her after seeing it and thinks it would be perfect for her. Azumi guessed that only because she stopped and looked at it herself when they were out grocery shopping.

Not really having much else to think about at the moment she was panicking about that until she started feeling sleepy. It was a similar type of sleep that was happening with Kazu that was in front of her. Though this was not the darkness coming to claim him that would render him dead like it had done so with so many others. This was a legit sleepy feeling that was causing him to slowly go to sleep where he would not be dead merely sleeping for a very long time. Though not alone as his hand would be held by his sister's who was not that far behind him

The years then just flew by as the world around Azumi and her family would continue to change yet the one thing that would remain the same. That would be them as they would stay as a family unit regardless of how many years had passed or how things. Where they were walking had become completely consumed by nature. The plants grew wild and turned the area more into a valley. The hill that was nearby them had become exposed with various statues that have become embedded within over time. The family was once buried as a landslide passed over them. Where they were once again lucky to just remain where they were and still together.

The dress that Azumi treasured however was not as lucky though. It lasted a very long time...an extremely long time compared to the clothing of her family. Which was the first to go as in the end, Azumi was the last one to lose all sense of clothing. Leaving her nothing but a nude statue standing there.

3,700 years later...

Kazu still pointed ahead now to nowhere with all his clothing have rotted away leaving with only the plants that covered his legs and his hip. Azumi had moss on her shoulders and also had plants growing around her legs. Their parents were also in the same condition as their kids as their legs were covered in plants and their private area was as well.

Though they had lucked out and managed to stay together regardless of what nature threw out them. However, on this day there was something that happened that did not have anything to do with nature. This was a person that has been reverted from a statue that came to view both Kazu and Azumi.

Smiling at them, the person who went about giving Azumi was given a shell necklace. Though that was not what their parents got from this person. They with their bare hands went about beheading all the statues around but Kazu and Azumi. Their father was swiped right off and split in two. While their mother her head, most of her neck, and a good part of her left shoulder was removed from her body.

Thus the family that had managed to stay together for thousands of years was forever separated in a single instant thanks to one person with seemingly superhuman strength.

Alone if Kazu and Azumi were ever reverted to normal the two would be orphans now as their parents were dead. Those not in one piece could be brought back from their stone state however they would not be alive at that point. Merely a corpse instead of a statue is the only fate awaiting them should anyone attempt turning them back again. Some time later that they were visited again by this same person who took their statues to another two where they were reverted from being statues with a confused look on their faces
