Pro Villain - Chapter 2/Izuku Shigaraki: Origins part 2
-Pro-
Izuku shyly walked behind the couple. They took him from the orphanage, but he had a strange feeling about them. Contrary to his usual instinct of disassembling quirks just by looking at a person, this was more primal. Something was not right about them. There was… Izuku had no idea how to describe the feeling of dread that filled him when he interacted with them.
Reading people was necessary for Izuku's survival ever since he learned he was quirkless. Figuring out people's moods, their attitude toward you, their real self, not the image they tried to present, etc. Those things could easily make the difference between a bad day and a painful day. Granted, anyone that hurt him physically usually vanished shortly after, but Izuku preferred to avoid painful days all the same.
When he ended up in the orphanage, he held no illusion of what it would be. Kaachan often tried to scare him and told him that his parents would get rid of the quirkless nerd and told various tales about how 'Deku' would end up on the streets. It only intensified when Tomu-chan came to live with them. Of course, Izuku knew in his heart his parents wouldn't do anything like that, but his insatiable curiosity got better of him and he researched everything he could. There were some forums for quirkless people to share their stories and Izuku was terrified to learn of their experience.
In all fairness, as he grew, he saw that it wasn't all that different in his school. At least until he ended in the orphanage and experienced it for himself. The kids here weren't afraid of consequences. At least not when it came to him. The people looked at him like he was a mistake and nobody cared if he was hurt. Unless, of course, he fought back.
Funnily enough, he no longer feared heroes discovering him all that much. They didn't seem to look for him. Midoriya Izuku being missing never even made it to the news or the internet. Izuku was still wary of looking up the name too often else he might trigger some algorithm. Shortly before the discharge from the hospital, he learned in surprise his hair had gone white as snow. His eyes gained a slightly more vibrant coloring too, but it was much harder to notice. He didn't look like a Midoriya anymore. In fact, he was now much closer to how his father looked.
Back to the present though, he still chose to accept that couple as his foster parents. He didn't really have a choice anyway. The matron would flail him if he chose to stay. The couple had once already adopted another 'problematic' boy and had a good track record. There was no reason to deny them the other child. They were well-off.
The car took them from the orphanage to an unassuming two-story house on the outskirts of Nabu. The inside was equally cozy and unassuming.
"Boy! Get here instantly." Izuku's adopted 'father' bellowed. There was some scruffing sound and a boy about Midoriya's age walked from the upper floor.
Izuku gasped. The boy had large bags under his eyes and wild purple hair that defied gravity, but it wasn't what got his attention. No, that would be the muzzle he was wearing. Leather, with metal reinforcement. Worse, Izuku quickly realized that it was common enough for the boy to be used. There was nothing but plain acceptance in him.
"This is Akatani Mikumo. He's gonna live with us." The woman declared before leaving the room. The man walked over to the boy and took off the muzzle.
"Why?" The emotionless tone made Izuku all the more terrified. It was so wrong.
"Obviously I can't have you seen by anyone." The man declared. "So we found one we were sure wouldn't cause trouble. It only took a small bribe to get his records altered to show he had an intelligence quirk. His education so far easily supports that. You're lucky we can't send you away without 'rousing suspicion." He was so dismissive of it all that Izuku felt a shiver go down his spine.
His mind was in overdrive, trying to figure out everything. The man wanted him to be some decoration to make the image of the family appear full. For some reason, the other boy was not good enough. Most likely because of a quirk. Something to do with his mouth. No visible mutation and muzzle wouldn't be needed. Quirk suppressants or invasive plastic surgery would take care of that. Hair defies gravity. Quirk Factor connected with head. Brain. Most likely emitter then. Something mental. But also requires voice element. Mind reading? Maybe with a vocal trigger. But that by itself would not warrant that treatment. The boy doesn't show any malicious behavior. Brain control? With vocal trigger or requiring verbal orders.
"I was right. You are a little genius." The man praised Izuku's analysis. The boy smiled tentatively right until a heavy hand landed on the back of his head. The impact was enough to make him stumble and fall onto the hard floor. "First rule. No being creepy. That muttering must go."
Izuku's vision for a moment doubled, leading him to believe he had a mild concussion.
"Hitoshi is able to brainwash anyone who responds to his question. Well, except me. My quirk, Cleanse, allows me to remain unaffected by quirks unless I wish so. Now onto the rules that you are to obey…"
And so Izuku's life changed again. In many aspects, not really, while in others, all too much. The couple wanted him to be a perfect child for them to show off, to complement their image, and help them raise in society. Thus, they made sure he got the best education and was examplar for others. More often than not, they enforced it with harsh discipline and corporal punishment. Izuku often times found himself locked in his room for days on end. His internet connection was cut off and he had to study from the provided books. Or rather, the internet connection was cut off at first until he learned enough hacking to break into their neighbors' network undetected.
He was no longer quirkless officially, but it didn't really do much. His muttering habit (which to the Couple's chagrin clung to Izuku like a tick), combined with the supposed intellect quirk quickly scared off any potential friends and made some braver kids target him. As a result, his 'parents' were less and less satisfied with him. the punishments got harsher as Izuku was more and more miserable.
Hitoshi kept his distance, warned off from 'damaging the good one'. Izuku was terrified of seeing the boy was oftentimes required to wear the muzzle in school, which seemed to be no better than Aldera Primary School when it came to quirk discrimination
Izuku was returning home when he heard an angry roar from a small street. He was still near the school and he could've sworn it was one of his classmates. Before he could think, he found himself running toward the source. In a dark, damp alley, four boys were standing over something. Midoriya's blood froze when he saw a bit of purple hair between their legs.
"I'll teach you what villains like you are supposed to do." The leader of that sad bunch growled and prepared to kick Shinso again.
"Leave him alone!" Izuku cried. It got the bullies' attention as all of them turned to look at the white-haired boy.
"Get lost, Snow White." Yes, they called him after a Disney Princess. No, he didn't know their reasoning. Also, he didn't care. "It's hero business and you'll never be one."
Good. Izuku thought. He had no wish to be one of those monsters. "Shinso didn't do anything to you."
"He's a villain in the making. He doesn't deserve to go to school with up-and-coming future heroes like us. We're just… convincing him to drop out."
"He's no villain. Just because you consider his quirk evil doesn't make it so. Quirks are tools. They don't define us."
"Said a nerd with a smarty quirk. Stop trying to play the hero. With a quirk like yours, you stand no chance anyway."
Why is everyone so adamant that I would want to be a hero?
"Hey! I got an idea! If you wanna be a hero so much…" The lead bully smirked. "Why don't you take a swan dive off the roof of some nice tall building and wish for a better quirk in the next life."
"And take that kid villain with you! At least then you can say you made some contribution to keeping this country safe." Another added.
Izuku's brain froze for a moment as his eyes widened. Those bastards actually told him to kill himself. In the face. And to take Shinso with him?
"Maybe we could help you?" The third laughed while slowly starting to walk toward the white-haired boy, whose eyes instantly focused.
"Your quirk allows you to temporarily increase your adrenaline output, enhancing your overall performance. Barely noticeable and impossible to test for, it allowed you to bypass the quirk restrictions on a youth sports league, earning you a scholarship." Izuku recited in a monotonous voice. "Your adrenal glands are enlarged and noticeable, if barely."
The boy roared and charged, pulling on his quirk. Izuku barely side-stepped and punched the boy in the kidney with an open palm, causing his opponent to howl in pain. The bully got up and tried to attack again with more frenzy.
"Pain increases the adrenaline production, further pushing your quirk beyond its usual limits." Izuku delivered two more punches to the boy's stomach with his fist this time. It had a cost though. His opponent's jab got through Izuku's nonexistent guard and caused him to fold as the pain encompassed him. It didn't stop the bully. By now, he was not thinking clearly anymore and his primal instincts took over. Izuku rolled away as a foot, clad in heavy combat boot, fell onto where his head was seconds ago.
Taking the opportunity as his opponent was dazed for a short moment, Izuku got up and delivered one last punch to the left kidney. At the same time, his fist sparkled green.
The bully stumbled in pain. The adrenaline overdose kicked in and he fell down, having a seizure.
Later, Izuku would learn that through his actions, the boy's adrenal glands were damaged to the point that had he not had his quirk, there would be nothing left. As it was, when the doctors stabilized him, it was discovered his organs were back to normal. He was as good as quirkless now.
For the first time in a long time, Izuku started to wonder what are those warm orbs of energy he can sometimes feel inside him. He was quirkless, but he could've sworn those felt like quirks.
-Pro-
When it came to punishment, officially 'Akatani' and Shinso were let off scot-free. The officer that arrived on-site first deemed it self-defense and as 'Akatani' didn't use his quirk, the law was on his side. Officially, they were the victims.
Their 'parents' had a different opinion. Izuku would be pulled from school and be taught at home while Shinso was being sent to some correction facility to help him with his problems. Izuku followed his feeling and dug deeper into it. It was a private institution that officially barely existed. Izuku had to work hard to get anything more than just the PR spiel. What he learned very nearly made him puke. The supposed 'correction facility' could be compared to prison for kids with either 'undesirable' mutations or those with villainous quirks. They were all hauled there and put through hell to make them mellow and submissive.
The amount of quotation he had to use thinking about this place was worrying by itself.
When he confronted the Couple about it, they were surprised and quickly panicked. He tried to blackmail them into dropping that plan. It might've even worked if not for a small detail: they knew he was in reality a smart quirkless boy. No one would trust him and if he tried, they could just reveal the truth about him and blame the system for misleading them about his quirk. It did amount to one thing: he was sent to the same facility as Shinso since the couple deemed him a lost cause as well.
-Pro-
Welcome… to hell.
Izuku quickly adjusted to the new reality. Figuring the pecking order was easy enough. On top, there were guards and the rest of the staff. Then, there were those with quirks deemed 'dangerous', that is powerful and flashy enough to maybe one day become heroes with enough control lessons. They were given some leeway among the prisoners. Because that's what they really were there. Prisoners. Those with villainous quirks were treated only slightly better than those with mutations, mostly due to the fact they weren't 'repulsive'.
There wasn't really a division between genders outside of showers and toilets. They all slept in a mixed 'dorm' and interacted together. The guards didn't even care if any relationships formed between the prisoners as long as it didn't bother them personally.
Shinso kept close to Midoriya, who took it onto himself to protect the boy. They finally spoke to one another and started to slowly open up. First signs of friendship blossomed between them. And Izuku was able to protect him when needed. Akatani was included in the 'better' sort as he was here for more political reasons. He still got beaten often, starved, and ended in solitary confinement more times than he could keep track of. Quite often, his punishments were lighter than some others got because the supervisors saw his protectiveness and willingness to fight as desirable traits.
It was one of the afternoons when he was hiding with Shinso on the rooftop. Not many came here and those few that did always respected the privacy of others and an unspoken code of conduct.
That particular day, a girl about Izuku's age barged onto the rooftop. She wasn't wearing a quirk-suppressing collar, which indicated her quirk was on the more subtle side. Possibly requiring special conditions to activate. Her wild eyes swept over the rooftop until they zeroed on Izuku and Shinso, who were the closest to her entry point. Izuku noted they were an unnatural shade of yellow and slightly cat-like. She grinned and leaped toward them seconds before the doors burst open again and several guards ran after her.
Having only seconds to think, Izuku had to figure out the situation. Time seemed to slow down slightly as he started to think. He looked carefully over the girl running toward him. She seemed to be rabid at the very least. But an instinct was telling him there was more. Her toothy grin revealed sharp fangs, much like a cat or a vampire from legends. Outside of that, there wasn't anything unusual about her. Her uniform was possibly a size too small as it clung to her body tightly. She was fit but appeared underfed. More than other prisoners. Possibly punished often, which supported his theory that the madness was something beyond her control. He didn't have enough time. He had to take a leap of faith. One thing was sure. He wouldn't let the girl suffer for her quirk.
Following his instinct, he bit his tongue until he could taste the blood in his mouth. The girl tackled him a second later. Izuku acted without hesitation and pulled her into a kiss, subtly sticking the bleeding tongue into her mouth.
Being twelve, he didn't really have any experience in that sort of thing and he honestly didn't care. This was the easiest way to help her. He could feel her suck on his tongue to get more blood from him.
"Hey!" The lead guard called. "Leave him alone."
At that, the girl broke away, only now instead of that crazed look she had a dreamy expression on her face.
"Is there some problem?" Izuku raised an eyebrow, recalling how his father did things usually. "My girlfriend and I were just enjoying a small reunion after a bit of separation." He shrugged, subtly exhibiting the patch on his uniform that signified he was from the 'better' sort.
"Ah. Sorry. Our misunderstanding." The guard relaxed. "She was being especially wild today."
"All the better." Izuku had to resist vomiting as he played the part. He was trying his best to mimic the other boys, but it was leaving a bad taste in his mouth. Still, on the outward, it was not visible and the guard winked at him before leaving.
When they were back alone at the rooftop (with cameras everywhere, but it was different), Izuku had a chance for his brain to catch up with what happened exactly.
Promptly, he fell on his back almost unresponsive.
"I kissed a girl…"
"Yup." Shinso grinned. "And she looks like she liked it."
"I kissed a girl…" is not responding. Please be patient.
"You said that twice already."
"I kissed a girl…" I said be patient.
"Thank you…" The aforementioned (three times) girl murmured while laying down next to Izuku. "So… what's your name?" She looked at him expectantly with a small glint of madness back.
"Izu… Aka… Mik… Mid… Shi… Gah!" He made a fool of himself.
"Izuakamikmidshigah?" She giggled. "That's a new one."
"I didn't know you changed your name recently, Akatani." Shinso joked. "Then again, maybe you'll need to soon."
That served to make Midoriya stop, if not for the reason Shinso thought. He almost revealed his real name. He almost let them (and whoever was listening to the camera feeds) who he really was. Then again, would it really be that bad? He was still Izuku Midoriya. He never wanted to forget that. Maybe telling Shinso wouldn't be that bad. And it's not like anyone would believe him if he told someone, a small, traitorous part of his brain added.
"Maybe let's go somewhere more private." He suggested conspiratorily while getting up. Curious, Shinso and Himiko followed him. Downstairs, he led them to an empty corridor with three stands that looked like open phone booths stripped of all technology. "This should do it."
"Um… you know there are cameras and microphones everywhere, right?"
"This is the only blind spot for both. It used to be phone booths where the more behaved students could call their families. It had a microphone and camera tied to the other electronics for their convenience in spying on those conversations. After some leaks about what really happens here, they removed it and took the electronics with it."
"How did you learn about it?" Shinso looked unconvinced.
"One of the older kids needed guards schedule. I extrapolated from their locations and patrol patterns how-"
"I get it." His friend interrupted Izuku before he launched into another rant. "Now what is so important you needed this much privacy?"
"My real name is Izuku Midoriya." He dropped the bomb.
"Uh… what?" Shinso expected many things, but not this.
"Remember the Emperor of Villains fighting All Might? That was my dad. The whole fight was because earlier that day, two heroes broke into our home and killed my mother. So I… kinda ran away and started using a made-up name."
"..." Shinso stared at Izuku with a dead look in his eyes. "'Kay." He shrugged.
"Just like that?"
"I mean it doesn't really change anything. We've known each other for two years. I'm not about to run screaming. Besides, you're still tons better than most people here."
"Huh… that was easy."
"A question though. Why did you include her in that secret?" Shinso nodded toward the blonde girl that was with them and Izuku froze. He forgot she was there. He forgot he knew almost nothing about her. Why did he drop his guard like that?
Seeing him splutter while trying to comprehend the situation, Hitoshi took mercy on his friend and grabbed his shoulder. "You are both the smartest and dumbest person I know at the same time."
"I'm Toga Himiko." The girl tentatively offered. "I… Sorry about the whole… you know."
"Heh. N-No pro-problem, T-toga." Midoriya stuttered. "It's your quirk, right? It works on blood."
"I… yes. I can change into anyone whose blood I drink. It also makes me… um… crave blood. I can't stop myself. It's just so pretty. So red. So beautiful." She shuddered, gaining a dreamy expression on her face as a glint of madness appeared in her eyes. Izuku noted she blushed a bit. "If I don't drink blood at least somewhat regularly, I… well… You've seen how I get." A tear formed in her eye. "But… My parents thought that was unnatural and that I should just stop. Except I can't stop. I need blood. I love blood." She giggled as tears streamed down her flushed cheeks.
"Hey. Hey. I… Um…" Izuku was bad with human interactions. He was even worse when it came to interacting with women. He was about to enter that awkward stage in life called puberty. Not really having any other idea, he tilted his head slightly. "Himiko. Hey… You're still… craving, right?" She nodded. "Then you… uh… can drink a bit of my blood. Just… Please be careful not… um… feast too much." He pleaded.
Toga jumped at him and Izuku felt a small prick on his neck, followed by light sucking.
"You definitely work fast." Shinso deadpanned.
"Shut- Shut up." Izuku sighed. "I just… she doesn't deserve to be treated like a monster because of her quirk. No one does."
"Yeah… but that's not the world we live in…" Shinso was too tired. He resigned himself to a life of pain already.
-Pro-
Himiko quickly became close friends with both Izuku and Hitoshi. The trio seemed to click instantly, bonding over the pain and being shunned by society. Izuku found camaraderie unlike any he had before. He allowed Toga to drink his blood in private, causing her to mellow a bit at least in public. Life in the 'correction facility' became the new routine for the trio. For the most part, they were left alone. Guards stopped picking on them as new, more appealing targets arrived. The children were also starting to ignore them. They weren't all that appealing targets anymore. They were old news for the most part and those that remained Izuku could take on. He would end up bloodied and in pain, but so would they.
It was Izuku's thirteenth birthday when their relative peace was broken. The trio agreed to sneak away for a small party on the rooftop. The guards wouldn't care as long as they didn't do anything stupid. The trio was now the good sort, so they didn't need to be bothered. Izuku heard there were even talks about letting them out soon, with the staff patting themselves on the back for a job well done and another three problem kids 'cured'.
"Um… we couldn't really get a cake or presents…" Himiko looked down while Hitoshi had his usual dead expression. "But I did sneak away a rice bun from the cafeteria." She offered. "We can share?"
Izuku hugged them both. "Thank you. It's unimportant really. It's… It's the first time I've had someone to celebrate my birthday with since… since…"
"Since your father murdered thousands!" A new voice spoke accusingly. Seven boys walked from the shadows. Izuku was too stunned to react before he and his friends were lifted from the ground and held up. The newcomers were older than them by at least three years. Izuku didn't really recognize them, leading him to believe they were some of the newer inmates.
"I… what…" Izuku tried to get some answers, but a powerful punch to the gut made him fold in pain.
"I remember coming home from a sleepover at my friend's house, only to find the entire building gone. Your father ruined my life! He took everything from me!"
"I have no idea what are you talking about." Izuku whimpered, feeling the pain refusing to go.
"You like my quirk? It's called Torture. Any physical pain I deal to others will not go away until I wish it. It will only compound until your sensors overload and you pass out. Unless your brain gives up first." The boy laughed. "You will suffer for what your dad did. I spent days staring at the face of a man that took everything from me. Memorizing every wrinkle. Every smallest detail. And now, I find you, looking like a smaller copy of him." He gloated. "You know, I don't even care if you're really his son. You look similar enough that it doesn't matter. The world has no place for trash like you or your ilk." He motioned toward Hitoshi and Himiko. "In fact, I think we should get rid of them."
At that, his companions started to drag Izuku's friends toward the edge. The facility was three-story high. The fall might not be fatal, but Midoriya had to take into account any potential quirks. And regardless of pure physics, the injuries would still possibly be crippling. Not good.
"Hey! Let them go. You have a problem with me? Stop being a coward and hurting innocents for your pain." Where are the guards? Why are they not coming? They must be seeing it. Of course they see it… It's probably the entertainment of the evening for them. Izuku groaned. No help from anyone else. "Let them go!" He roared. Green and black lightning started to dance in his eyes, slowly spreading along his body. For now, it went unnoticed as the lead bully was too enamored with watching his dogs slowly push the duo off the roof.
The lightning leaped from Midoriya's skin, smashing into two boys holding him. Izuku felt something inside of them and pulled. His captors screamed in pain as he felt two glowing orbs enter him.
He had a quirk. He had multiple quirks. He could take quirks from others. He remembered…
He was still nine, at school, one of Kaachan's friends tried to pick on him when they were alone. The boy had a rather simple pyrogenesis quirk allowing him to create fire. When the boy tried to burn him, Izuku lashed out. He later thought the boy was just trying to bully him when he said that his quirklessness was contagious. Izuku's mother was called, but he never heard what she did to resolve this situation. Only that his father would speak with him over the weekend. The weekend never came.
He was still nine. It was maybe three days later. He couldn't recall exactly. Death Arms, one of the newer sidekicks to the local hero, tried to grab him. Terrified and still angry over the other heroes, Izuku lashed out and ran away. He took something with him.
He was ten and a change. The brawl. He was defending Hitoshi. That Adrenaline Boy was hurting Izuku, who fought back. He punched him in the quirk. Literally. He ripped something from him at the contact. He took the quirk right before the boy went into an Adrenaline overdose.
Now, he was on the rooftop. His friends were being hurt. He needed to do something. He had five quirks. The boys holding him had interesting quirks. One had a mutation that made him look like a scarab-human hybrid. The other made it so that his spit became neurotoxin.
Izuku could feel the quirks waiting to be used, but he also sensed something more inside him. A pulsing orb unlike any other. A powerful source of energy that craved more. He pushed the two newly acquired quirks into that space, connecting them to what he assumed was his quirk. The other three he grabbed and… for the lack of better words, he donned them. He felt his body change to accommodate new powers while green lightning around him intensified.
The pain he was feeling seconds ago was forgotten as the adrenaline started to pump through his body. Torture was only giving him more juice now. Izuku dashed toward the two boys that held Toga and were about to drop her from the edge. At the same time, acting on instinct, he thrust his hand toward the two holding Hitoshi.
Alarms started to blare in the entire compound. The guards were reacting finally, only now Izuku was the villain.
Lightning leaped from his hand and encompassed the two boys, making them collapse and scream in pain. Two more quirks for Izuku. Shinso took the chance and broke free from their hold and then put some distance between them.
Izuku meanwhile reached the two holding Himiko. They were terrified as he grabbed them and thrown them away from the edge. They tumbled and landed at the feet of the leader. Toga pulled him into a hug, but Izuku wasn't done. He gently put her down and instead turned to three boys who were still conscious.
He also examined two more quirks he gained. The first one was a reptile mutation. He wasn't sure what, but he dropped it into the same space the previous two. The other one was much more interesting to him. It would allow him to generate tentacles from the front of his body. It would be painful, as they would rip his skin open to break free. He could make no more than seven at the time and if one was cut, he would need to wait until it regenerated. After disabling the quirk, his skin would mend itself. It was a gross quirk, but then again, most in this place were. He still applied it to himself and activated it. Seven black and white tentacles sprouted from his stomach as he slowly approached the three boys.
"You want to know the truth? Yes, Shigaraki Hisashi was my father. The rumors about him being able to take and give quirks? Looks like they are true." Izuku's eyes were focused on the person that started it. The tentacles shot forward, grabbing all three of them and lifting them in the air. He didn't speak anything as lightning-like energy traveled through the new appendages and ripped the final three quirks from them. He could sense more coming. There were guards running upstairs now. Probably in full combat gear. They didn't have much time.
"You have a quirk." Shinso pointed dumbly. He was probably in shock.
"Apparently. We need to move." Izuku folded the tentacles inside of him. The stairway was no go. He used the fire quirk to metal doors to their frame. With his enhanced strength, he tore off Shinso's collar that was blocking his quirk.
"What are we gonna do? There's no way to down other than the stairs." Himiko panicked.
"I'll fight."
"You're mad? They have guns and quirks."
Izuku took the scarab orb and donned it. His body started to change and shift until he was covered in a carapace. His skin faded in, allowing black muscles to replace them. It looked gross.
"This quirk should make me bulletproof long enough to close the distance. In the melee, my strength should be enough to deal with them."
"What next?"
"We run. Look. We'll be branded as villains either way. This world doesn't want to look beyond our quirks and I refuse to break. I'm tired of being treated as lesser because I didn't have a quirk. Now that I got multiple, they will say I'm a villain. So let's be villains. Let's be freaking supervillains."
"You know, before this place, I hoped to one day become a hero and prove everyone wrong about my quirk… looks like I will prove them right instead."
"I'll follow you to hell, Izu-Kun!" Himiko looked at her best friend with an awe-struck expression. He was… he was everything. And his blood was so delicious!
The doors were violently destroyed as men in guard uniforms started to pour in with rifles aimed at the trio. The kids were caught flat-footed. Izuku hoped they would have a few more seconds to hide, but now his plan wouldn't work. He needed to be a shield for his not-bulletproof friends.
"Surrender, you little bastard. We heard enough. Heroes are coming here soon to take care of you little freak." The squad leader ordered while aiming his gun.
"No. I'm done with trying to fit into a world that doesn't want me."
"Then we can take you away from it. Open fire!" The bullets started to rain on them. The guards didn't even bother with the fact they were children. Some seemed to be enjoying it. The squad leader certainly was.
Izuku felt his armor start to shatter in some places. His body was in pain and he had to disable the adrenaline quirk else he risked backlash. When the first bullet managed to pierce his armor, he almost lost control. His arm was now in major pain.
Green Lightning once more started to course along his body. Izuku held onto his quirk as a lifeline. He needed to do something. He had to fight back. Black and Green lightning exploded everywhere. Out of twelve guards, the only one didn't get hit and only because he fell downstairs in an attempt to dodge. The remaining eleven found themselves writhing in pain as Midoriya forcefully ripped their quirks from within their bodies. Eleven shining orbs formed inside him. He didn't even bother to check what the 'clean' quirks would be. The alarms were still going and more guards would be here any minute now. And the heroes were coming.
His carapace was useless now and would be more of a hindrance than a help, so the quirk was retired for now. It might've been a slight mistake as he immediately started to bleed from his broken back as all cracks in the carapace turned into ruptured skin. Izuku wanted to howl in pain, but he stopped himself. He had to be strong now. He could suffer later. Like always.
The trio ran downstairs until they stopped before a wall. Izuku remembered that this was one of the edge walls behind which there was nothing but freedom. The walls were reinforced to withstand almost any known quirks, but their creators didn't take into account someone having multiple quirks. Izuku didn't have time to try and fail. He had twenty-one quirks worth of power and he pushed them all into his pulsing core quirk. For a second, his hair started to float and glow as Izuku delivered a punch. His muscles were already hurting. The energy of his punch caused the wall to shatter and the fence that was a small distance away from it to fall down. The path was open.
Himiko and Hitoshi looked at now-unconscious Izuku who sprouted extensive bodily damage. They carefully lifted him and started to run, doing their best to make sure he didn't get hurt further. The building of the 'correction facility' was left behind. They wouldn't learn of its fate for some time as they needed to help Izuku first. They wouldn't know that it would become a new example of quirk discrimination and lead to the creation of a large social movement. Maybe later, they would, but for now, they had Izuku Midoriya to nurse back to health.
